I play solo, almost 100%, and I am still playing, still building, still traveling to other planets. Unplayable, this is not.

If you're curious there is some info here on that: http://blog.actor-framework.org/2014-12/spotlight-dual-universe/
Was a while ago so some things may be different today.

But they do and in a far more damaging form.  Might as well use them now to soften the blow of this change.

Being able to recycle them to ore might also be an option and then we can just sell that to the bots that already exist.

NQ created a massive surplus of industry which is now useless and the market value is unreasonable low. Finding a way to compensate for this is only fair.

Allowing players to place a higher tier schematic into the schematic bank and from there upgrade the element (while consuming the schematic) would be fair enough. That action is just a numbers game in the database and is or should be a very low cost option as far as development time. A simple popup "You  placed a XXXXX schematic in the bank, are you sure you wish to upgrade the unit?" and change the number sin the database once confirmed.

Problem is that NQ would not account for such options so they now have no way to know which tier 1 industry was previously owned or just added I am expecting. It's just another example of not thinking things through, not considering options and/or consequence of changes.. In other MMO games, when changes such as these happen options to upgrade are generally provided and/or done automatically.

Yeah a lot of players don't seem to understand the vision of the game, and they get shocked when more of the vision gets implemented in a patch. NQ might tweak and change things based on the feedback, but it's going to go in that general direction.

Players who dont survive this patch they wont survive in the future when the rest of the game is here. Territory Warfare, Permanent damage, Energy system when we all have to re-think and re-design re-allocate factory on different tiles, so on and so forth.

This game is not ment to reach instant gratification. Imagine Eve Day1, 2004 1st month. 3 months later we flying with Avatars around Jita? That is what happened in DU...and its ok. We've learned the lessons. As ive said it on DU discord, the info we have in game atm can and will be used by NQ to gather data in order to confirm 0.23 to be working and move futher in development.

Removal of MegaNodes from the game, make average numbers on T1/2 similar on all planets while you keep T3-T5 exactly the same on the game (ore can be reset later on next year, maybe at release or when TW comes) is another good thing that will slow down the progress and confirm a working economy. It is hard? Yes. Will it be harder? Yes. But no matter how many adjustments they make now...THE FUTURE PATCHES are even harder. 0.23 is nothing compared with Atmosphere pvp patch and permanent loss on elements.

Hat off to everyone who is working outside DU.exe to make this game great again!

PS: Bring them elements skins on the game + gift to accounts

then make money and buy the items instead of buying the schematic for every single part and chugging on brainlessly like you were before the patch.
you CAN'T have an omni factory.   you can't make everything yourself.   make a few things in bulk.   sell them. and buy the rest.
you can even ask higher prices now because only a small percentage of players will be crafting things (like it was ment to be)

Yes it is easy, it may take a long time, be tedious, still remains an easy activity that only require you to follow the scanner and click a button. Open a dictionary and go look what "easy" means because you still don't get it

So this is your problem with your construct. I use more efficiency construct with less consumtion. Dont blame game from your wasting resources. It s like throwing nuke to kill little fly.
There is oportunity to use VTOL, but you will pay more fuel. It s up to you and your choice.

Vertical engines used to be just as fuel efficient as horizontal engines but that got nerfed by about 50% way back when.

Haunty got a reaction from NQ-Naunet in Let's talk DU quits
I don't think there is anything unexpected happening with quits. Most people are short-sighted and impatient, so that combined with a slow development of an MMO in beta is not going to retain a lot of players for very long. There is still a long way to go with gameplay features. I imagine with each major feature update some players will come back, and eventually there will be more complete game loops.

I keep asking that, but everyone just seems addicted to it. Any other T4 scrap is better. Even lithium scrap (T3) repairs more per kg of scrap I think. (I need to actually test that).

Haunty got a reaction from Bobbylord in Salvaging - Nerfed as a casualty or by intention?
I'm guessing it's because people were building terrain walls and players wouldn't load them in fast enough before crashing into them. So I don't disagree with NQ for now, but outside of any safe zone it should be possible to salvage ships damaged by crash, or maybe even after a grace period if it happens in a safe zone.

Haunty reacted to Danaus in Dual Radar for Pilot (Non-Weapon) Seats
Topic pretty much says it all. Currently every seat in the game (at least functional ones) can only have ONE Radar linked to it. While the reasons for that are fairly obvious between atmospheric & space combat uses, it also limits the pilot severely for craft that transition between the two. So I'd suggest that Non-Weapon Chairs (ie. Command Chairs, but not Cockpits or Hoverseats) be allowed to link to both Atmospheric & Space Radar. They cannot use weapons in any size, shape or form, so the Radar would be used for navigation purposes only. As a pilot (and non-gunner), it only makes sense that they would (or SHOULD) be able to detect what is ahead of the ship whether it is in atmosphere or in space. Flying towards a space station? Better adjust course! Flying towards a building or single voxel 'tower' ahead? Ditto!

Right now, command chair pilots are forced to use one or the other radar. Go with space to help spot potential PVP pirates or better align a ship for your gunners? Or use the atmospheric radar so you can see and avoid space stations, buildings, etc, as you fly through an atmosphere and near the ground? Give pilots both! Those chairs are already limited from using any size weapon, so give them SOME advantage for use.

50k players? 50,000 players? Nice assumption. I doubt we have 10k. But lets assume so. So its already 600kl*5 => 3000kL. Probably more. So excluding every super or mega node - and every tile which has more resources - if players would mine only alioth for bauxite, every one of them could mine 3kkL before it was exhausted. Thats base number - one to which we would start adding other numbers so everything from tiles above 300kL - of what on average we would be able to get. And we are still talking about 10,000 players mining on Alioth exclusively. Ignoring every other planet out there.

Your entire world resources analogy is just false - because you assumed lower end found on tile. You want to know entire world resource you need to use average, not lower end - not even sure if its median of resources in tiles.

    tldr:
Your problem is only the assumption that NQ will do nothing if critical ores somehow run out. Which imho would be so completely stupid on their part it simply won't happen.
Worst case scenario - we will have week or two of harder to find tier 3/4 ore (well, rare will be actually rare while we mine remaining ore out) than week or two without one of the ores before they discuss out what to do and implement solution.

    Longer verions:
On Alioth, if it wasn't mined earlier it will give you around 500k of each tier 1 ore without any meganode/supernode present - so you have minimal amount.  I don't remember out of my head how much tiles there are in alioth, but lets sum it up to a lot. Most of tiles i've scanned also had between 10k to 30k tier 2 ore. Again without meganodes. Feel free to calculate how long it would take to mine that out. Just don't use meganodes mining time because you will get bullshit results. Mining meganodes is probably order of magnitude faster to get same amount of resources.

They already have surface rock regenerating and they said they won't add ore veins regeneration - but, common, they are not morons. Tier 3 if it will run out before asteroids mining or other way of mining are implemented - in WHOLE accessible universe - NQ will most likely just add it, probably deeper, below our current mining level. There is no way in hell that NQ will effectively kill half or two thirds of the tech tree because one ore run out. There is so much unused space below 1-2km below surface that they won't even have problem where to add it. Actually that apply to tier 2 too. They can do it even if we have asteroids mining and so on. (I just hope they will stop at tier 2 in the safe zone if/when they do it).

On side node - farming meganodes was already acknowledge by JC to be too easy. So yeah, probably they will change some stuff around that too.
