Yes, the changes certainly killed Warp shuttles.

NQ, please add Warp Drive in sizes XS, and S with appropriate mass and limitations. And please,, share the design with us before implementing for feedback.

While I see what you are saying, it effectively means what NQ did was "fix" what PVP players found to be lacking. The problem I have, and I have seen others say the same, is that NQ tends to "fix" things by carpet bombing and hoping that will address an issue but ignoring the considerable collateral damage they create in doing so.

Throwing principal laws of physics out the door to give PVP players a way to "catch up" is not a solution, it is snake oil as you do not fix anything, you just bend the rules. NQ did not balance anything here, they moved the goalpost to allow the ball to pass. Balance would have been to tweak the performance of engines in a way which allows smaller ships to accelerate faster relative to their mass and with that catch up to larger ships before those can reach the same top speed. Or create a way for ships to jump ahead using warp at the cost of cooldown and maybe accuracy of fire, so they can have a chance of catching a (bigger) prey.

That would then also require skill and experience while potentially be aided by talents to reduce the penalties of using a manoeuvre like that to offer a specialized "interceptor" role to players and further deepening the strategy aspects of combat.

This would effectively bring the same change to combat while it in no way affects anything outside that context. And for me, this is why I feel NQ is continuously missing the point and is not taking their time to think things through, it all feels like "ok this works, done.." and no-one is going "but wait a moment" .. Well, the community is but we all know that NQ really does not do very well in paying attention in that respect.

    Not true.

When automated factory is ready, it does not produce nothing.

You have to supply constant flow of ore to make your factory run.
You also need to cover costs for acquiring raw materials.

At this point you are only creating losses, and yes your game will be soon over because you run out of Quanta.

To at least cover costs running your factory you need to sell stuff, with profit.

As seen by the exudus of players around 0.23 schematics did not extetnd gameplay,  but rater cut is short.
It added nothing to gameplay other then a wack a mole mechanic and time sink which in turn remove time from actual desired play.

For people that can build any thing the game is not over, it has just begun, they can now focus purely on the game with building/pvp/open explorations and so on

    Event:
    “Comet”
    Duration 1-6 months

    Sized as large moon/Sanctuary/Heaven
    Moving slowly.

No initial coordinates or exact date. Can be first visually observed. It can be seen as a very large and bright comet. Can be seen way before entering our solar system. This allows scouts to be sent to see "what is out there". Scouts can trhaen hael other players to calculate comet's speed and direction and estimate when it is near enough to start mining ops. Speed and direction can change.

Then Comet enter Solar system in pvp – zone. Moving slowly into safe zone triangle and passing Alioth very close.
Then leaving safe zone and moving further either to the sun or just into space.

Comet contains ores only. All tiers. No dirt
Has no tiles but accepts static constructs for building bases/defenses.
Ore distribution is very rich. So rich that it is not possible to mine out during the event (1-6 months)

Rich ore distribution with no “dirt” makes mining very lucrative, even in pvp zone.
Mining yield must be high for couple of reasons:
High reward when in pvp zone
Ore must last whole event even if large number of players participate.
If static constructs are allowed, they should reserve small volume (maybe 10x of constructs build zone. Next construct would not be allowed within 1 km radius.

If reward is high it attracts both pvp players and miners, even before Comet enters safe zone.

If duration in safe zone is long enough and reward stays high pvp:ers have time to build mining outposts and defense systems before Comet leaves safe zone.

Even with large voxel modifications due mining database will eventually be cleared if comet “disintegrates due collision into sun or just because of [“some scifi explanation”]

Stop it with the Eve BS. This isn't Eve; it's nothing like Eve.

You're drawing one point of comparison like that is the only difference.

Eve also has actual PvE, insurance, and no ship building or atmospheric entry.

I don't find pointing at differences between Eve and DU to be at all convincing, because they're very different products and one mechanical difference in isolation means very, very little.

Further, that Eve is still alive after this long doesn't mean that a product that clones Eve's features in part or whole will be equally successful.

Problem has always been constant changes which breaks players achievements.
    - by nerfing engines breaks well balanced ships and throw hours of playtime into trash. This has happend so many times
    - by adding lots of extra weight, (for no reason) to ship elements has same effect
    - by implementing schematics did break so much work already done at factories
    - lua changes which are not backwards compatible
    - obstruction changes
    - changes to colors and textures of voxels
    - change of material requirement for Warp beacon

This list goes on and on.

So many negatively effecting changes has been most poisonous to the motivation to continue.
I'm not the onlyone who has felt that Devs and Game designers want to punish players instead of creating interesting features.

Also about what is interesting is wery much lost.

You dont need to test this. I can already tell you what will happen.  First off, hardcore players will move all there assets to sanctuary. PVPers and trollers and pirates will spend all there time destroying everything that is left behind.  Anyone that did not move there stuff, and got destroyed would leave the game. The pvpers/trollers/pirates would have a great month or so of wiping all the planets. then they too would begin to leave the game as they ran out of targets.  Miners would leave the game as they can no longer automine on planets, they could get away with astroid mining while the pvpers are buisy wiping the planets. but as planets become ghost towns asteroids would then become camped too. So most miners would leave the game. This would result in industrialist leaving the game as they can no longer get the resources to make things. And finally builders would leave the game as noone is there to buy or look at the stuff they build.

It would not die off completely as there would always be hardcore players in each field to play the game.  However the question becomes does NQ make enough money off these players to keep the servers running. Let alone develop/fix new/old content.

But what can I do I'm just so frustrated.

And yes I'm afraid that "Power" will break everything again. If that happens after launch it will be worse that 0.23 catastrophe. And there will be no more "Launch nor wipe card" to play.

How should I say this nicely...

I appreciate the attempt by an NQ employ to keep communicating, trying to give hope to players with 'concerns'. But... For a lot of us, the announcement on the 14th of April 2022 was a complete showstopper and that is now 8 weeks ago, almost two months. A continued lack of clarity and an apparent ability to make decisions on NQs part is not filling me with confidence. It's also eating up my paid subscriptions because I'm not playing due to the sudden lack of a 'persistent' universe, the 'promise' of DU. And while the Talent Points keep accruing, there is no clarity on whether we'll keep (all of) them.

Any 'hope' I had of a relatively quick resolution on the issue of wipe or no wipe (and what exactly) has gone out of the window with this letter to the community. And even then, NQ has shown time and time again (during the beta), that what they announce and what actually happens can often be two completely different things. So for me, the actual wipe/launch date is the only 'proof' of what happens. That seems awfully far away, a couple of my accounts run til the end of January 2023 and I honestly have the impression that those accounts will expire before we have an actual wipe/launch...

Instead of giving me hope and confidence, this letter leaves me disappointed, annoyed, and a little angry. I'm seriously starting to doubt the sanity of the person/collective that made the announcement on the 14th of April.

Initially I had the idea to test some cheap builds and BPO them for relaunch (in the hope we keep those), but with all the changes upon changes that keep getting rolled out. Anything I build now, might not work at all at relaunch, so why bother? It's not as if the 'gameloops' themselves are fun and satisfactory in themselves...

We are playing a futuristic space game.  The thought of slapping a bigger alternator into my space ship just does not compute.
The Enterprise runs on ion engines.   Why not introduce ion engines?? tier 1-3 space only, with tier 4-5 able to work in atmosphere. Then we can do away with engines and wings and start building some true spaceships.
Making it a tier 5 upgrade that runs on fuel cells, so we have to mine for uranium and plutonium, and making fuel engines and fuel extremely inefficient.  One connection per fuel tank, lower the amount the fuel tanks can hold, increase fuel consumption, lower the amount of power on all engines, add weight to the wings.
Something that makes sense in a futuristic space game.
I'm getting nightmare visons of going to autozone, in the year 7474, in a beat up space ship to pick up my new 12000 amp alternator to finally bump my 100 million quanta subwoofers...

are we being serious?  how is this 'power' going to scale?  with the engines?  the core?  how is the core getting so much power?  Does it run out?  If the core has so much power, why not run the ship on power alone?

If you have lots of quanta to buy DAC:s it will help NQs economy.
Because someone needs to buy those DAC:s first from NQ using real money.
Only after someone has bought DAC:s from NQ with real money and imported those into game markets you can buy them using Quanta.
