Your Haven tile is never taxed.

Any other tile on any (non starter, non-sanctuary) planet or moon costs (on the Beta) 500k quanta to deploy the territory unit, and 500k quanta per week to keep the tile in active state, which you need to run mining units. If you don't pay the tax, after 3 weeks the tile becomes unclaimed again.  If you don't need mining units to run, then you'll be able to turn a max of 3 (we think) tiles to be HeadQuarters (HQ) tiles, which don't require tax ever, but which can't run mining tiles unless you pay tax. No discounts for org tiles. You can only have individually owned tiles as HQ tiles.

Distinct Mint got a reaction from fiddlybits in New blueprint deployment tool is dope!
Wondering if it might be possible to modify the blueprint deployment to to allow, in certain circumstances, a substitution of the core unit.

    For example:
Increasing or decreasing the size of the current core (same type), where this does not cause overlapping elements or elements outside of the build zone. Swapping between space and static core. Though really I can't see any real need to constrain what core types/sizes can be swapped, as long as there are no overlapping elements or exceedances of the build zone. This would make the deploy blueprint tool even more valuable than it already is.

You can omit any element, swap missing honeycomb, and soon after launch, snap blueprints to deployed cores.

You can actually use this to your advantage if you understand how it works.  So long as you log out with an active job you can have jobs queued against a linked container which doesn't yet have all the materials for the jobs.  When you log back in it will try to catch up the queue and this will work so long as the requisite materials are there when you log back in.

So you can bank some manufacturing on an alt and then go gather what you need.  When you have enough raw material you log the alt back in and insta-build.

Distinct Mint got a reaction from vertex in Misleading talent boost graphic explained
Because the person who created the "Talent Point Booster" graphic either failed statistics or aced marketing (or both), some people are confused as to what the graphic actually means. At best guess it means that:
1 month of 2x talent point gain; 3 months of 1.5x gain; 2 months of 1.25 gain.
Now, why might people be confused at coming to this conclusion? Well ...
The x-axis on the graphic is extremely unhelpful/misleading/plain-wrong. November means "start of November" (or just before start of November); February means "start of February" (or just before start of february). However, March either means "end of March" or "a few days before the end of March" (to give exactly 6 months). One means start, the other means end. No wonder you're confused. The only reason we're able to figure the above out is a) because we were told elsewhere (not in the graphic!) that this is a 6 month event. This is not useful! (Yes, we can also look at the relative width of the bars as an extra hint, but see the below point ...) The y-axis is on a completely made up scale. It's not linear. Zero is not at the x-axis. So the height of the "2x" bar is not 1/3 more than the "1.5x" bar, and is certainly not 3/5 more than the "1.25x" bar. This is just plain misleading (i.e. marketing) to make the "2x" bar look much bigger than it actually is. [Edit] Finally, in terms of accessibility, colour-blind people will only see one bar colour here.

After the recent PTS and asteroids bugged (we built a DSAT) and alien cores not showing it would be helpful to know for people who are planning if roids will be there on day 1 or not until the cycle appears on the Saturday as before.

    Can NQ confirm the situation?

Distinct Mint reacted to Moulinex in Please make sure that blueprints retain industry configuration
We know that after the wipe, we will only keep core blueprints.

I made some testing this morning and found out that when I deploy a blueprint of a factory, all industries lose their recipe configuration.

This will be already a pain to visit all assembly lines to feed them one by one with schematics but now I also understand that I will have to reconfigure all industries (refiners, smelters, electronics, metalworks, etc) after deploying the construct.

And just to make it clear, I'm not talking about talents here but just the recipe configured.

Is it something that you can fix before the launch please?

    Thanks!

Just raising the suggestion (again) of not requiring schematics for T1 products. If NQ is happy with T1 factories, then schematics on the final elements is ok and (mostly) managable for assemblers. Then if the player wants to go to T2+, sure, have pure and product schematics.

With T1 product schematics, the schematic tedium hits too quickly in basic industry. Make the game a little fun, please! 🙂

Distinct Mint reacted to SirJohn85 in NEW SCHEMATICS - Discussion Thread
What bothers me most about the schematics so far is that not all items needs schematics and you often feel like you're waiting twice.

    Example:
"Oh cool, I built the intermediate parts, now I can finally build Basic Metalwork Industry M".
"Oh, I forgot to queue up a Tier 1 M Element Schematic Copy, I'll just do that."
"Oh, I have to wait 50 minutes and pay 15,000."

The reaction is already a... for me:  "Hmph."
It doesn't feel good. Especially at the beginning, when you're still doing a lot with the nanocrafter and then you switch to the machines, you often forget that or don't have it in the back of your mind. At least that's what happened to me now that I've started all over again.

    Edit:
I'm sure it's already been said, but I'll write it down just to be on the safe side.

It is also irritating for me why an Atmospheric Fuel Schematic Copy is needed for Nitron in the Machine and not in the Nanocrafter. I miss this consistency in the concept. The result is that I then simply build all things in the nanocrafter. The same applies to Al-Fe Alloy as an example.

    Why?

    Edit 2:
I understand where this is going and what they were thinking. I think it's better than buying individual schematic copies (System after 0.23) for individual machines, now they are no longer limited to the element being built but category dependent, which is a big improvement.

The approach is fine as far as it goes. But we are not yet where we should be. This "hmph" feeling has to go away for me. Give me a reason to get a reward feeling, after I've built the intermediate parts.

    Edit 3:
Maybe this will be clearer, since most people will look at the list that is required to build something?

Taking this line out of context is confusing. However in it's full context, it's quite clear that it is referring to queuing talents after launch:

Finally, if you've subscribed to the game, ensure that you have at least six months of talent training queued up. The talent point accelerator event, which is open to all players, will boost your talent point acquisition in the first six months of launch by:
100% for the first month 50% for months two, three, and four 25% for months five and six

Good post though slightly (accidentally) misleading on this point. As OP is a backer with 3 DAC, they won't get the free 2 weeks as this is only for people with a paid beta subscription (not free beta key) and who's subscription has in fact expired. The 2 weeks is to encourage these lapsed subscribers to give the game another chance.

    To clarify on others' responses:

You get the 2 weeks of free game time if you purchased ($) game time on your account via beta subscriptions, and then stopped playing (i.e. your subscription expired) for at least 1 month. In this case, NQ will give you the 2 weeks to encourage you to try the game again and see if you like it now. If you had a free beta key, or an alpha account, then you don't get these 2 weeks.

Core blueprints (not ordinary blueprints) will persist on your character into launch, but you will need an active subscription to access them.

These are all great suggestions, and have been proposed by the community previously. Asteroids are currently very annoying and staid, and there will be complaints from the New Player Influx if we go with the current system. Adopting even some of the suggestions above would go a long way to making them more fun and accessible.
