There have been similar responses prior 0.23, telling NQ in detail what will happen if they do that. And they did it. And it happened. I don't see a fundamental change in their behaviour. I expect them to do it again. When I read the list of proposed changes it even looks like they are destroying the game on purpose.

I am going to move all my stuff to Sanctuary and abandon all other tiles. Thus, no money sink from my side.

Been on PTS now for 15 hours testing while collecting my thoughts. A lot of these changes will force players to /work/ to keep what they own in game... right now with rough calculations it looks like about /half/ of the ore dug may have to go back to paying taxes on the tiles, and thus players will need to work... to keep their land... to keep working to keep their land.

I say work, because these new loops, for many- will turn it into active work/tedium to manage. Plus, potentially half of your ore income is spent on the hexes... now you'll need to take a cut for fuel to transport/logistics. After the end of it, you're left with very little to build/expand with. For new players, it will be muuuuch harder to solo while getting a foot-hold.

So I ask, is this a move to slow players down and reduce overall server costs? As it stands this a soft-wipe of sorts, as many with "fun" projects people work on a few hours a week may now be forced into grinding to keep it going- or loose it... and if players don't come back, as it stands... you loose a tile, as it is on PTS... you also loose all the static constructs owned on that tile.

So is this a change to reduce quanta/inflation? if so than look at the source, missions-alt runners to curb it vs creating a huge sink via land. Is this change for... data inflation? as more ore enters the game, more constructs are made- and in live(more data due to tunnels on top of that)  so more ore = data costs.  And I dare say this is the real reason for these changes, otherwise NQ will let up on them as player outrage seams to be more so than 0.23, and it hasn't fully sunk in yet for most players what these changes even mean... and while this post covers some core issues, it does not cover the ninja-changes to ship elements/flight mechanics or other core complaints.

Give us more ore via auto-mining - more charges, more ore to pull from per hex and... some way to skip the lame mini game.. please? minimum efficiency of 25% vs 0? Nobody wants to login once/twice a day to hop around auto-mining fields to play a stupid mini game. Least while mining traditionally I can tune out and watch Netflix, with autominers- it requires just enough attention you cant let your mind easily wander... but not enough satisfaction to make it.... enjoyable. 2x more ore may not be enough, 3-4x may hit a sweet spot for most. More Roids - All safe zone roids get mined out within an hour of discovery already. fix discovery timer of 20 minutes/middle Colum! Likewise, PTS seemingly won't spawn in asteroids in time for us to check the new spawn rates.... This change will /encourage/ more people into PVP space. Lower the taxes for tiles. This is a game that people pay monthly for- not a second job.
      So say we all.

i'm ok with territory taxes... but would opt for incremental tax depending on the number of owned territories.
but the whole mining unit system has the problem that the tiles with the valuable l/h will be claimed in no time. so the workflow will be useless for all players joining in the future

    Hello.

Me and couple of my friends will gladly offer protection for miners who would like to dig asteroids. If you are a beginner and don't have enough resources to get good ship, we can also provide a good mining ship for this ocassion. Good money plus lots of fun and adrenaline.

After you sell the resources we split the income equaly

In order to prevent a new wave of disappointment such an advertising push would need to be honest. That includes that the game must be advertised as what it currently is - an alpha version. But that will not happen.

Maxim Kammerer reacted to Sabretooth in Fuel hubs, command seats and engine switches
When you have more than 4 fuel tanks of the same sort (atmo or space), the fuel window gets a scrollbar.
The command seat has only 10 connection available where 1 is already taken by the core.
So why not have a fuel hub that only takes up 1 seat connection and have the hub display the fuel tanks in a window with a scrollbar?

I think its pretty lame that we can only connect 10 things to a command seat. Also I think that solving this problem with lua-fuel screens n stuff should be an option, not mandatory. An L-core is a pretty big ship, 1 AGG, 1 warp, 1 radar, 1 ECU, 1 core, 1 gyro, 1 shield and there goes 7 of the 10 connections available, with a fuel hub this would not be a problem (you can still have 20 fuel tanks on this massive ship).

And the on/off switching of engines. we can already connect them to relays/switches, why cant we turn them on/off? Yes it can be done with 'simple' lua, but I dont know why I should learn lua for this game when the things are already in place. Why doesnt the on/off switch work on engines, but you can connect them? Is it more fun to make it difficult for players?
For parking in space or taxi on the runway, its very handy to have some engines turned off.

What you guys n girls think of my complaints/suggestions?

    this tbh

cities don't serve any purpose whatsoever with current mechanics. except for RP purposes maybe, but noone needs special "rooms" for anything in the game right now. you don't need gathering halls, tactical command centers or anything alike. nothing a city provides serves any purpose. Same goes for spacestations. All players really need is storage and landing pads. Everything else is completely useless

    EDIT:
oh and besides the technical limitation of the single shard server - I very much doubt that cities will ever work where more than 2000 ppl concurrently do stuff within 1km of each other. lagfest ftw. see market 6

The deployment of BP is a problem I agree with you.

But to the question why there is no city?

The answer is quite simple. There is simply no point in having one in the game.

There is no mechanic that will make players live close to each other.

The only needs are storage / Factory.

Markets are NQ installations whereas it could have been up to the player to manage them for example.

placing windows side by side and they actually overlap at the edges as you are building a triangle?
placing 10 containers against eachother? placing 4 ailerons on top of each other?  placing 2 landing gear beside each other? placing a break on a hover? placing an adjuster on an engine? placing an adjuster on a brake/window/cargo/etc?

Ive been here since beta day 1 and i have tons of free for all full loot experience from other games (ark, rust, eve, darkfall, etc).  Even by default i am a pvper i was one of those that tried to do anything that i could (write on forums, write on discord, talk with few streamers) so we make NQ and JC (main dev in 2020) understand that we need safe zone to remain what it is now. Initial plan was that only Sanctuary and something around (dont recall exactly what his plans were (sept 2020 or so) but he wanted to remove the safe bubble what we all have now. He said on stream bubble will stay. I hope it stays too. Those beautiful cities must live

Knowing that in 1+ year we will get another system, that one can be without safe zone but DU has a hidden Second Life social agenda very well implemented in it and we all need a place to call it home or safe zone, no matter how agressive your gameplay is. I really want to think that DU is not about Hero to Zero experiences and it will never bring many traumatic experiences to those %players who dont want to engage in pvp.

Yes, it would not be bad in principle. But that also applies to schematics. The problem is how they are implemented. I hope for the best but I'm afraid NQ will find a way to make energy management just as bad as schematics.

The main problem with schematics is not the price but the way they are implemented. If you are happy with manually moving schematics in and out of industries everytime you switch to another product, than 35 million might be enough (I didn't check that). My factories are designed to make as many products as possible without moving stuff between containers. In order to make that working again I would need to buy much more schematics than I ever use at once. That makes no sense. A single schematics container for all industries within a construct would solve that problem. If you have N schematics for a specific receipt, than N factories could run it once without moving them around. And that is just one problem I have with this 'feature'. If players are asking to remove schematics than they are talking about schematics as currently implemented and not about hypothetical schematics without such design faults.

just get rid of time based talent point accumulation all together.  That was the Worst design decision NQ made. Passive talents are the stupidest thing you can think of. There needs to be some sort of active talent accumulation as well. And no, the achievements don't count. 120 talent points for an achievement is an insult. The AFK gameplay mechanics need to be fixed(i.e. talents and missions).

DU is the game with the best game technology and the absolute worst game design. It's a shame. Hate to say it but you need to fire your game designers and get someone good.

Tip: either come back everyday to get the 150k quanta or dont bother to return, nothing will change atleast that is the expected outcome of the 0.23 massacre. the 150k everyday will make it possible to slowly buildup your schematics

Not only that but it really uses up your org core limits.

TBH I would be happy with different shaped build cubes selectable on deployment:

1/4 height but twice as wide and long.
“Pizza box” suitable for landing pads and  low, sprawling structures.

    1/2 height and double length.
“shoebox”. Suitable for most large spacecraft or general buildings.

1/2 height and width but 4x as long.
“tube”. Suitable for roads, bridges, gantries and mega structure spines.

Also, for the love of all things holy, please give us the ability to deploy cores in build mode.

and add an “enforce planetary level” toggle box while you’re at it, I’m fed up of all our buildings being slanted because the initial structure is 3km away and the planet is curved.

They trashed any actual gameplay loops to give a reach around to the end game content and PVP orgs instead of addressing the core of the game like higher tier ore regeneration and the new player experience. Who cares about brutes bashing their faces against each other  when market tools are trash you cant create missions as an org. No way to insure a package other than collateral making people pay 300mil for a 100k profit. This game is a joke when it comes to prioritizing the order of importance. Why is there no deep surface mining experience, caves generate below -6000m why cant we explore those and get resources.  NQ needs to stop listening to the PVP orgs and make the game FUN.
