    Hi Noveans,

    First thank you everyone for your feedback about the Athena PTS Announcement. We saw a lot of questions and concerns raised, and we will try to adress them as much as possible in the coming days. We want to bring some clarification already to some of the topics mentioned in this forum thread:

    @fridaywitch

    @Thunderblaze

    @PotatoMart

    You caught onto the word “wipe” that was in the announcement. Please know that:

    • As of today, there has not been a decision made about a server reset also known as a wipe. It is something that we are aware of that has been causing very heated player discussions and when we have more information about this topic, it will definitely be passed along to everyone as soon as we can.

    • Nothing more has been said than what has been already mentioned on Discord earlier this year - that we were discussing the topic internally - so this is just a follow-up of what has been already said (and makes the thing more official), with the addition that the team will come to a conclusion soon. At some point, we need to address the Elephant in the room.

    • We are also aware that it has been a recurring question since Beta Launch, and though we weren't able to give a proper answer on that topic for a very long time, the wait is going to come to an end. A lot of options have been discussed. The final decision will not be made on a whim, the team will be taking into consideration and pondering carefully all factors and sides to the topic. More info on that in the coming weeks to enter into the details. If we don't give details right now, it's because the discussions are still in progress and it's a bit too soon to confirm anything.

    • We understand that some of you may feel as if we were not caring or being direspectful towards you, our players. However, if we do communicate on this sensible topic ahead of the official release, it's precisely because we do care about the Community and your feedback. What could have been disrespectful would be to announce the decisions one or two weeks before Official Release, giving no time for you to express your feedback. In our opinion, you deserve to know what are the ongoing topics currently discussed internally at Novaquark (even though we can't share the details yet). At least, you know which topics are coming on the table soon (or which ones are already on the table).

    • Some of you may also feel that we're not communicating enough, or maintaining a "deafening silence". Please keep in mind we promised to have better communication and better transparency with the Community. We are currently communicating what we can communicate right now. Not answering on the spot, right after the announcement, is not a sign of ignoring the Community. It may require gathering feedback first, discussing it with the team, before being able to give a proper answer. Replying in the 24/48 hours is usually a common time window. We also completely understand that it may seem frustrating right now to not have more details and we ask you for just a bit more patience.

    • Please keep also in mind that we do value your support and the time you invested in Dual Universe so far, and no matter which decision the team will make in the future, we take this part seriously into account in the decision making process, so you won't start from zero even in the most drastic scenarios considered.

    About “this is all we get for the final game”:

    • Please understand that if Athena is the last major update before Official Release, it doesn’t mean it’s the last update before Official Release, we may have one or more smaller updates before official release, having less content, but content that could really improve the game and/or the user experience a lot.

    • Official Release doesn’t mean “the final game” at all. The roadmap will continue after the official release and many more updates are planned.

    We hope this clarifies a bit the Novaquark team's stance on those topics.

    Best Regards,

    Nyzaltar.

    While not the desired answer, that's something -- Thank you for responding with what your team could provide!

    When you can't make an argument stick, rip what you need out of context and prentend it fits your narrative ..

    What JC refers to here is the initial plan to wipe again shortly after beta start to introduce the new planet tech. This was cancelled due to opposition by certain player groups and so that update (an dthe needed wipe for it) never happened. This mention doe snot imply now suport the argument that JC evenr said that there would not be another wipe post beta launch.

    In fact, he pretty much left that option wide open HERE and NQ has done so ever since.

    try again..

    Blazemonger, you have years worth of posts asking for a wipe and encouraging it. Regardless, players should have an answer and not have to wait and be teased.

  3. NQ, with release effectively on the road map, now is the time to let us know if there is going to be a wipe. This will help the player base know if the game is worth continuing to play in the interim and prevent any further wasting of time and mass building for content that would just be wiped.

    Please let us know if you will hold true to JC's words of there won't be a wipe.

    Thank you.

  4. Can we please have the ability to split stacks in market inventory? Currently, players must buy ore in 500k chunks if they want to pack it up for mission creation purposes since thats about how much fits in an expanded parcel container XL -- and unfortunately, those can not be container hubbed together currently.

    Having the ability to split stacks would allow players to place large buy orders up and split up into mission packages from market inventory as needed. This would help make the most out of missions, and provide a quality of life improvement.

    Thank you!

  5. NQ -- can you please add the ability to add missions from an Org -- and a skill to create more than 5 at a time for orgs and potentially single players? This will make it a lot easier to create content for players and orgs without having to switch between multiple characters and keep moving money around.

    Our org players are loving us creating a lot of missions for them to run to help spread the money around. This will help further that content and really unlock more potential out of the mission system.

    This would also make market management far more easier for organizations.

    Thank you!

    Hello everyone, thank you for all the feedback so far.

    We will be reviewing the feedback tomorrow and there will likely be some adjustments. However that will have to be seen tomorrow.

    Keep it constructive so its useful to us and it will be seen.

    We will have more news on todays article for you soon.

    Every single time NQ does a dev post like the one announcing these changes, no matter what you guys do afterwards, it's too little too late. People have already walked away and will never come back. You guys really need to consider what you communicate in these dev posts beforehand, as it's pushing players away. Permanently.

    I didn't vote on this.

    The first question has a more nuanced answer than yes/no and NQ hasn't given us a response to our feedback.  They've made changes based on community feedback in the past, and I believe they will here.

    The second question is irrelevant, based on unannounced info, and has a real negative inference when NQ hasn't even gotten a chance to make an official statement on it.  It's unfair.

    Luckily your vote doesn't matter in more ways than one.

    I'm just absolutely astounded at the proposed core limit.  Assuming you have your talents maxed for org constructs, you get 25 plus your 15 personal.  I had guessed something like this was coming, but I imagined maybe a 100 core limit for orgs and only one personal org per player.  This is just astounding.  I really feel like I should be mad, but I'm so burnt out on taking what changes we are given and working around them that I just cannot muster anything other than shocked laughter.

    For a game based on building, they certainly don't want us to build.

    I've been playing DU for a good long time now and I'm convinced that the developers don't play their own game.  They have accounts, but they have a very different perspective about DU than most of us do.  Announcements like this one make that painfully obvious.  It seems like this core limit announcement is not so much the problem, but a symptom of the bigger problem which is lack of meaningful communication between player and developer.

    Dual Universe needs to have a player council made up of people from a cross section of play styles - miners - haulers - builders - pvp players - factory owners and so on.  If the community, via a player council, had the opportunity to discuss changes like this with the development team before announcements like this drop, it would at least give them a chance to consider the ramifications of their decisions without immediately pissing everybody off.  We do have this message board, but so much of it is just people complaining.  We need a meaningful dialog between the players and the developers and a player council would do just that.  I've seen it in other games and while it isn't a cure all, it certainly improves communication between us rabble who play and love the game and the rabble up there in that ivory tower who love and develop the game.

    They sort of do, they just don't listen to the players.
