As long as you can archieve it with ingame means, yes. If you argue anything else then you would also allow cheating tools.
And multi boxing is certainly not something you can do solely with ingame means

its pretty easy actually, for things like ammunition, fuel etc. you chose to need them. You don't need to participate in space warfare or something alike, if you do then you chose to have to organize your ships and ressources for that one war/raid/whatever, and afterwards your free again.
For mechanics like food/water etc. you do not chose to do it, you must do it. Always. Whenever you want to play.

Please don't tell me, that you don't see that enormous difference^^

Ammo weight, fuel etc. directly impact the design of spaceships and thus the PvP, it makes carriers viable, limits the size of spaceships without any wierd artifical limit and turns war in an all out effort for alliances who need to have the logistics to survive it longer than a day.The impact on War, Organizations and Economy is severe.
Food on the other hand, aside from needing a small container to store the food for several days, and having to use it in certain periods adds no value to the game.

I didn't.  I did, and DON'T go around misrepresenting me.  Yes, there are two towers to view things from.  You should try standing on the other one.   I was critical of one part of your post, doesn't mean I was being critical of the others.  vylqun is voicing an opinion based on what he knows.  You are voicing and opinion on what you assume.  Who says you'll get more than one character per account?  Some will view that as reason alone to ALLOW multi-boxing others won't.  Voicing your disagreement with either stance is fine.  Giving a reason more that it's "ridiculous" or because you assume it will work another way is not.   As to your last comment, I agree.  I said as much, I pointed out how A.I. and scripting could make it an irrelevant point.  I also pointed out how multi-boxing could be unbalancing if the game goes a different direction.  If you don't see it fine.  But not seeing it doesn't mean it isn't possible.

And finally, If you don't agree with someone else's views on a subject, that's fine.  They are voicing their opinions and concerns just like anyone else posting.  If you have an argument and would like to debate the finer points of their stance feel free.  Otherwise, your posts so far have been full of vitriol, smug rhetoric and contribute less to the subject at hand and more on what you feel about other posters.  Leave that on the other side of the keyboard, please.

yes, but that doesnt change the fact, that he was able to inflict the damage and went "unpunished" against all those other ships he attacked. He wouldn't have been able to do that if he didn't multibox. And while your corps was able to kill some of his ships, all the other guys before you didn't, they probably weren't amused by that.

If he had archieved this by having a superior spaceship, or because he has a group of ingame friends with whom he raids other people, that would be completely ok.
But every other player would have this possibility too, they could upgrade their ships or get into a group. There is nothing that they couldn't also do.

Multiboxing on the other hand gives you capabilities that others can't gain ingame be it because they dont have the money for more accounts or for a better computer. Thats without a doubt p2w and should never be part of a game where warfare is an integral part of the gameplay.

most of what you said doesnt fit into dual universe:
Dungeonraids with limited team size means instanced dungeons, there wont be anything like this in DU
PvP worlds, be it small or large, are meaningless, as the whole universe will be a pvp zone
Gear-Score is useless.. because there are no instances, you can go everywhere from the beginning (as long as you dont die)

Multiple-playable races doesnt fit lore-wise, but maybe they'll include it in an addon, far far far in the future.
As for regenerating farm worlds, i suppose the wildlife on the planets will respawn, but you certainly wont get money from the system for killing npc, because there is no system-money.

i disagree, multiboxing gives the players doing so a definitve advantage against other players, in ressource collection as well as in pvp, so it should definitely not be allowed.

yes, stupid, greedy devs, how dare they to want a secure income for paying servers and salaries, i mean, if i look for a job i also always take a initial payment thats aproximatly 4-5 months of work worth without a monthly salary, i can do extra work and be payed for that, right? totally legit...

    Hi Legate and welcome!

Releasing Dual Universe on Steam is being considered (but no promise at the moment).
If we go for Steam at some point, it won't be before Beta (so not before 2018).
The client would be available on the Steam store, a bit like EvE Online.
This approach wouldn't be led by greed. It would just give more visibility to the game. It's a no brainer: Steam platform gives visibility.
And to see more players joining the game is never a bad thing, especially when the game is centered around player activities.

We are aware that Early Access on Steam are seen with more and more suspicion as developers ask to pay for products far from being finished and the only games who got positive feedback were the games nearly complete or not far away of the official launch. That's why we won't rush a Steam release in any case.

We also make a clear distinction between Early Access and Crowdfunding support.

    From our point of view:
    - Early Access should be equal to selling a game, not completely finished but already fun to play and fairly stable. In other words, at least a game that has reached Beta. Those who buy a game in Early Access are consumers who buy a product to play a bit in advance prior to the official release.
    - Crowdfunding is meant for people who want to help the project and support, people to have suggestions to make to improve the game, etc. They can access the game right from early stages, in order to provide feedbacks that could be taken into account into the dev roadmap. But there are here more as supporters willing to help improving the game than consumers in the first place (but they deserve, of course, the same respect as other consumers!): they understand they are going to enter a game that isn't a nearly finished product or that the fun is not completely there yet.

    Best regards,
    Nyzaltar.

Making exploration worthwhile is actually a pretty interesting and complex topic.
There are several possible aspects of exploration, ranging from only small impact to a very heavy impact on the game.
The easiest possibility would be to have mining/ressource gathering. Explorers would travel the world, scanning for rare mineral nodes, botanical features etc. and sell the information about the locations to other players/organizations, or just using the discovered ressource for yourself.
The second, more interesing way is to include archeological sites to the planets, explorers could find ancient alien artifacts, which improve certain aspects of crafting or are just collectibles.

The most interesting possibility to include exploration in the game is connecting it with science, let me explain this more detailed

To use ressources for crafting they have to be refined first, metals have to be turned into compounds, active substances from plants need to be extracted in various ways, chemicals need to be mixed etc. etc. Different methodes of refining would lead to different materials having their own specific use for crafting.
At the beginning of the journey the players only know some basic methodes of refining, only know a few possible refined materials, thus greatly limiting the possibly crafted items. To increase the "knowledge" about those refined materials and their uses the players need to read papers created by players with the science skill

How are those papers created? Players with the science skill can use found ressources, compounds etc. to do research about its uses. If they gather enough knowledge about a ressource they discover a possible use or way to refine it, afterwards they basically create a "skillbook" which lets other players who use it learn about the discovery and be able to use it in crafting.
If just the ordinary ressource is used to conduct the research, the research bar will fill slowy and the result is random. Thats the case if a person wants to research the useage of a certain radioactive isotope and only has the pure isotope, he can research it, but he won't know what he discoveres, if it can be used as catalyst for some chemical reaction, if it can be used for isotope batteries or maybe even for nuclear reactors. It could also be possible to discover its use for sensors in vehicles or anything. On the other hand, if he has the isotope in combination with a different material which shows some of its unique features, or if the isotope was found in an enviroment where it caused some effects which were recorded, then the research with that knowledge or sample is a lot faster and the direction in which its going is at least roughly estimateable.

And thats where explorers become important. They basically search the whole world for scientific interesting samples or locations and sell those discoveries to other players or organizations which want to conduct research on it. If a player finds that radioactive isotope which is imbeded in a different material and produces extreme heat, then this would certainly be something worth collecting and selling, there might even be organizations competing over the sample because everyone wants to be the first to research thermonuclear power or smoething.

Exploration would enable science to become a very important tpoic for organizations, because they can get ahead of others if they spend enough effort to find or buy a vast amount of samples which can be used for research. Rare samples could be exeedingly expensive, research results something to be fought for.
Lucky explorers might become the most sought for persons in the game

Well... It will be always our word against his.
But here is our side of the story.

    Just the facts:
    - We posted two comments on his second video asking why he was deliberately spreading disinformation and diffamation about our game.
    - In both comments was a link to our video proving the big spaceships were voxel-made.
    - They weren't validated to become public, despite the fact that comments posted after by other posters were.
We don't exactly know how BlueDrake42's channel is configured, but if comments require validation to become public, that means he sees every comment before chosing to validate one (or not). It seems to us really unlikely that, in this situation, he hasn't seen the comments who were pretty straightforward and posted with the name "Dual Universe". Maybe there is another explanation but from our side, we don't see any.

In the end, with his video "GG Dual Universe", BlueDrake42 showed he didn't mean to misinform (despite the fact that the result was exactly that). We personally recognize we were wrong in thinking he had ill intentions toward our game. Sketpicism in his first video was totally ok and we perfectly understood that (as not much about our game has been presented yet). Presenting personal assumptions as the truth (saying our ships were just meshes bought from turbosquid put in our game and not voxel-made spaceships) in the second video was where a line was crossed.

There will be soon a blog post explaining our unexpected presence at E3 (that wasn't even expected on our side a month ago) and how it came to make some choices that seem weird from the outside. We also totally agree that there have been several mistakes in our communication like the fact we should have pointed out that the big spaceships design weren't home made but available on Turbosquid. There was no intention to hide it. We truly didn't see it as a problem a few weeks ago, as the teaser was meant to present what players would be able to build, not to present what the players will find in game.

So there is no hypocrisy here.

To avoid feeding the troll any further, this topic will be locked now.

    Best regards,
    Nyzaltar.

Protecting scripts is pretty easy, after they're set up they could just be marked as "unreadable" by the creator and its done.
Protecting hardware is a lot harder, but there could be a way for that too, like creating a blackbox surrounding the hardwar that destroys everything inside if its broken, the question for that is, will we be able to create such a thing ourselves or do we need something prebuilt for it.

I myself will most likely try to add triggers for explosives on critical parts, that means if the voxel covering it is removed, as long as thats possible.

i dont think there should be skyboxes, as someone already said, the sky isnt colorful, and most pictures of nebular are colored after they were taken because they just don't emit light in the visible spectrum.
I do hope we will have some nebular to actually explore them and thus see them in the night sky, but i wouldn'twant artifical textures of things that aren't present.
