    Yup.
Everyone wants to be the Tough Guy super invincible master Pirate that everyone else fears. Too bad victim volunteers are so hard to come by.

It's almost like how real power is gathered by those who use social engineering to create a victim pool of fearful and greedy that they can exploit.  If you want targets to shoot at, create a scenario where there is a tiny chance of great wealth and convince everyone that it can be theirs if they just **try hard enough**.
    oh...
and don' t listen to those loosers who are suggesting that we would all be better off if we just help one another.

I think it's funny that the majority of self-proclaimed "PVP" players all demand to get to be the pirate.  But none of them seem to be interested in playing the game in a way that creates PVP for other players.  Get out there and haul something in the PVP zone, build something in the PVP zone.  Do something in the PVP zone.

Everyone wants a shooting gallery.  But no one wants to be the duck.

Have you considered that's because shooting galleries are boring, and no one wants to be the duck?

Let's cut NQ-Deckard some slack here. What he CLEARLY said is that they would actually check this time for blueprints buried in nested places like packages and containers and move them to your nanopack. They have the mechanisms in place for that no matter what happens in other quarters.

The (word that shall not be spoken or typed) is decided some point in the future by someone else.
I for one, am glad to get confirmation of BP retention. No good dead goes unpunished apparently.

I'm good with "Radar needs to be on the outside of the ship" I  just wish they would stop making elements oversized and glowy/flashing.
If you are a small schooner and you want to achive victory over an aircraft carrier, then yes, the first thing you take out is the communications array/radar tower. duh.

Big giant overpowered ships should have some disadvantages yes.

These are my space brakes that are outside of my ship laid flat on the surface of the underside. When on. Why? Why? Why? does EVERYTHING need flashing strobing effects. This is nuts. any effects that are generated by the brakes, should only be on the "exterior" side of the brakes, not on the contact surface. and they shouldn't be bleeding through a voxel+ away

Why do people keep bring up this concept that Lua somehow has anything to do with any of the other parts of the game? Lua is it's own thing and I doubt the devs behind Lua have many, if any, responsibilities with other parts of the game.

The reason us Lua people are always happy is because we never had any updates or changes for quite some time, and now we're getting them. And I love how you say "they bring very little to the game"... I think you're really salty or something. I don't know how many people use ArchHUD, but almost every ship that is after market has some alternative HUD that makes ship control better. And PVP HUDs that bring much more to the PVP environment, and AR systems to allow for 3D damage control or custom waypoints.

Screen tech is like a foundational part of the game, you see screens literally everywhere. You can make minigames on them, literally. And yet, you say "they bring very little to the game". I have no words for you if you honestly think Lua developers in DU bring little to the game.

EDIT: If you meant "they" as in NQ, I apologize, but if you meant us Lua devs, what I said above remains.

How much WORK or EFFORT I have put into this game is irrelevant, and there are very few who can argue they have put in more time and effort into building then I have.

I have no expectation of work product, in this or any other game. Nor is there any legal right to it, in this or any other game. Games have run for years, only to shut down overnight with no warning. No expectation of compensation, no compensation will ever come.

I have my knowledge, and if the Stroke I had in January didn't wipe that, then for sure NQ can't.

All I truly care about is that we hit the ground at release with solid:
    1. Lore/Cannon for it all. Write a damn story to explain it.
    2. A functional communication system. (long neglected and def NOT ready for release)
    3. The ability to choose how much audio and visual "noise" we want the game to display. IE a functional UI with settings controls. (long neglected and def NOT ready for release)
    4. A well thought out plan on how to start an economy, and how to adjust it when it goes out of wack (which it will)
    5. A strong and robust set of game mechanics that are FUN to play, and prioritize those who want CONSTRUCT a civilization over those who what to hack, slay, and steal.

give me that, and I'm willing to start over building shacks and scooters.

The water is much easier to navigate. I approve

The blueprint placement is a long awaited improvement. Thank you.

The skybox flight particles are still ridiculous, although I am thrilled that they no longer fly THROUGH the ship. Thank you for that.
That is NOT the way space looks (would look) if you were flying fast through space.  if you were able to approach the speed of light, the stars in front of you and behind you would spectrum shift and change color, near by stars to the side of you would look like short lines in space instead of dots. The current bombardment graphic is just unrealistic visual noise that serves no purpose. (one geeks opinon, but hey, you asked.)

The warp graphic is scary retro 1970s disco warp. Well qualified geeks MOCK "Zerdoz", not emulate it.

I certainly spend plenty of time and effort enumerating the things that happen that I disagree with, sometimes strenuously. I know that many times I have hounded devs to the point that they yell at me. It is only fair that I thank then for changes that are solid improvements.

    It is my nature.
and I want the game to succeed.

Hopefully we see more core-to-core data exchange abilities or an increase in emitter receiver ranges.

The mining unit LUA would benefit from this so we can see MU status from adjacent hexes from the center base you VR to in order to check MU status.

Yes this is currently in Athena as well.

    Gameplay Changes
[Lua] getTime() is now deprecated, because it depends on the time zone. You can use instead : [
Lua] [float] getArkTime() : returns the current time since the arrival of the Arkship on September 30th, 2017
[Lua] [float] getUtcTime(): Return the current time since January 1st, 1970.
[Lua] [int] getUtcOffset(): Return the time offset between local timezone and UTC

I am very happy they finally did this. I have been asking for this for a couple of years now.
all sorts of things like good encryption, and intercore communication  are now much easier to achieve.
