"If I had to take hell, I would use the Australians to take it and the New Zealanders to hold it." ~ Erwin Rommel.

The oldest Australiasian group in the game, the Anzaki are a casual social (for now - strange things can happen once you get a bunch of us in a room...) group for finding other Aussies and Kiwi players.

The Anzaki is a cultural organisation for Australian and New Zealand players, or for those rare players with characters from an Australian / New Zealand background that the AU/NZ player base adopts as a blow in.

In the Dual Universe setting, the Anzaki are the heterogeneous (that's multi-cultural) descendents of Australian and New Zealand military forces who were genetically altered to become effectively fearless super soldiers after the fall of those two countries to passive invaders. There is in game background if you like to RP, but really it's about giving a non-org/non-political place for Australian, Kiwi and ANZ fanz (or RP character types) to hang out, find temporary groups, some recruitment and all that. (There will be an in-game pub as well.)

It doesn't matter if you're in another group or not - this is like automatic membership at your local RSL. Just apply in game (search the [anza] tag) , let us know roughly where you are from etc, and it's that simple - you'll be added to the group.

    The only rule - don't be a s#$%c^%t.

Current DU tutorials -- are total abomination.

Long. Boring. Bugged. Placed in worst laggin place in whole game. New players literaly must SURVIVE them. My advice to all new guys -- play (skip) to point of grabbing STU and hovercraft parts and RUN, skip rest of trash and "specialized" ones. Save yourself (at least -- for now, you can return later to feed inner completionist), and don't worry that you don't know anything or missing --  you can learn even in better quality by just asking other players or watching some videous or reading text guides.

Tutorial stage = worst part of game, it goes progressivly better, once you free. And them when you evenrtualy leave Sanctuary -- even more better!

Game generaly like diamond in shit, to grab best part you need to go over bad part. Give it a chance.

Without saying too much, we knew. Players knew stuff like this could happen. We were worried for beta launch. There is a reason we are all here and so passionate about the game - it is will be great. The player driven economy, massive single shard universe, fully editable and persistent environment, ship building and physics, this game has things that have never been done before. It is incredibly ambitious. And, you're right, it wasn't ready for public beta with a subscription model.

I hope you return at some point and get through the rough edges and into the fun parts.

I will!  At the moment we are placing the HQ and although placing the first brick might sound like an easy task, there is a lot of work involved.
First you need a stable industry to be able to craft the L core and all the loose elements for a HQ building, then you need the perfect spot. And since we will also house the HQ of several other neutral organizations and amongst them are nature preservative groups we want to not only have the perfect spot for logistics, but also for esthetics and easy to reach for ambassadors and emissaries.

All in all, building a mobile city doesn't start with building it, a good foundation is required to, in the end, build the epiphany of light in an ever growing darkness of space.

And thus the start of building local community has started near Market Sanctuary 3

That has been all thought about and there will be no issues with industry. Tranquility is much more then only a space city, its also a place where you can rent beach resorts, have ports in all main planets and moons, and thus industry has been taken into account within our strategic vision.
Also as it is one organization within the multiorganization CATS and there are alot of organizations within CATS that already opened their industry to each other.
If life gives you lemons, make lemonade. If it gives you cake, you must still be dreaming.

Beta officially started today so I made a new introductory text for DUSleepers.

    Now for my two cents:

Beta is finally here, "with all its glory... and all its horror".

Although I am delighted to finally see the game blossom from one development stage to the next, I now experience a feeling of disappointment at certain decisions in notable divergence with, almost in betrayal of the Kickstarter era: in 2016, "Dual Universe" was promised to us as a game where players - and ONLY players - could "rebuild civilization" and I think everyone who participated in the Alpha was ready, determined even, to build everything from scratch, to remake a world in their image and give it to the newcomers, with its faults and its qualities, its pettinesses and its virtues. Harvesting resources, founding an industry, leaving Alioth and reaching the Moon, planting one's flag and imposing one's mark on the universe were to be pioneering challenges for us. In two words: "Emergent Gameplay".

We woke up in a world filled with already amply-stocked Markets (on every planet!), huge Institutes, Ship Shops offering cutting-edge technology, free and insistant shuttles to the Moon, buried wrecks and even a guaranteed daily income: WHO built all this Eden ?! Not us. We weren't given the occasion.

Beta was to be a simulation episode too, with a last wipe before the Release's awakening; instead we have a “soft launch” where player-produced content can be seen as “fraudulent” - in a game still plagued by bugs, exploits and unbalances - but will nonetheless be the permanent basis of their upcoming empires. The Sanctuary Moon was to be a protected place but devoid of resources: there are now minerals on the surface and soon underground, one less reason to make the effort, to take the risk of launching into space. And finally, the Arkship was to defiantly bury itself into the ground, vertically erected like a colossal beacon, the conduit for a signal of hope. We get an oversized laser pointer.

I know. It was a matter of facilitating the arrival of new, more casual players not necessarily won to the cause of the first Noveans' pioneering spirit, therefore encouraging subscriptions and finally opening up a source of regular income for NQ in this delicate period for start-ups and private investors. It was about presenting a "suitable face" to the streamers, lured in with a provend of beta keys and camera-robots to promote the game. And we had to be kicked out of Alioth early to spare the server load, even if the corresponding technology has been the spearhead of NQ's promotion since the beginning.

No worries: the game is not done and if there is much work left to do, it is on tracks thanks to the incredible efforts of Novaquark's teams. The long awaited Beta is here, it's great, we are now launched more or less "for good" after years of waiting, I dedicate all my best hopes to this game and I'm even certain this lore discrepancy will be assuaged in time by NQ; I'm also confident they'll know how to monitor and maintain this complex balance; mistakes are made, mistakes are mended.

But my awakening to Alioth, my first non-virtual steps as a Novean will forever leave me with a lightly bitter aftertaste.

le_souriceau reacted to Touchme in Capital Productions is recruiting
A little about me I am a former eve online player, on there I have been in huge battles with titans and capitals ships, I have ran the markets and running Mercenary contracts, and finally me and my people reached out and turned to the industry making and destroying ships. I find myself here in this new universe where everything is a new start and what I want to do is reach out and make new friends and fill that thrill or making new adventures. Everyone starts small and being small is not a bad thing, because you get to really know the people you play along side and the rea trust forms, where bigger player bases usually fall under their own weight because of infighting  but enough rambling let me tell you my goals.

Capital Productions is a industrial/engineering pvp organization here we will focus on training our people to work together and when crap hits the fan they will be able to act or give orders fast and correctly because we all know everyone has a plan until they get hit in the face then plans go out the windows. Our industrial side will be mining, making parts and running the markets, they will be the back bone of our people and like every strong structure the foundations need to be strong. our engineers will practice and train to make ships and land craft to sale to other people along with four our own use. they will also be able to make fortresses for when war is here and help with sieges. Our pvp will do exactly that train and get ready to protect our people and protect those that offer us money to do so or our allies when they are in need, below i will lsit a few short term goals for our organization so you can get a idea on what the beginning will be like.

    Industry
    * will mining minerals to be sold or melted down for production
    * will work on running the market finding best things to make and sale
    * focus on making sure spare parts are around for repair and fuel to be used
    * Organization will offer miners a buy back program where we will buy the minerals from the members

    Engineering
    * design ships for transporting good to market
    * making and planning the foundations of our factories and cities
    * designing land craft for use and setting up supply lines

    PVP
    * can be a member of any branch
    * will be trained for single and multi crew ships
    * will be trained to fly/gunner/or infantry or all
    * multi crew ships the crew will have regular training sessions and have drills so all crews learn to react in a instant

This is just a short version on my plans and some will like it others wont but we also know some people don't want pvp and that's fine no one has to fight if they don't want to and we  always say fun first. We are already in a alliance of great people and we have a great future as a organization and as a alliance member. Everyone has a right to state their opinions and i will always ask for members opinions on matters and take their thought in consideration. I ask you to help me make a good strong organization that can help new people and will stand the test of time. I will see yall out there and if interested message me or hit me up on discord [EVIL]HEADHUNTER#1910

You may ask what our long term goals are well the short story for it is for our industry to pump out supplies to sell directly to other organizations and for parts for ships and  vehicles for organization and alliance use. Engineering will  then build heavily fortified fortresses for defense and cities for trade along with capital ships because like our name says i would like our ship builders to be able to produce beautiful machines of war and peace. Our pvp/pilots side we will hire our self's out for escorts, train other organizations pilots and crews, and participate in combat of all kinds. Don't let the pvp scare you pve people off because you will do what you love and enjoy and our fighters will be here to make sure you are free to do that.

    Weekly Update - August 3rd - 2020

Two tests were had between this update and the last. First on Friday the 24th, there was a 3-hour stress test, and then just recently there was the usual four-day test this past weekend. It also happens that this latest test was a special load test where NQ invited testers to bring on five friends for the duration of the weekend test to stress the servers as much as possible in this lead up to beta.

No rescues were performed over either test.

    ----------

“But how did you not perform any rescues, there was a mob of new people joining that inevitably crashed.”

You’re right, and while I could have easily advertised the 911 channel and the team could have hammered out a dozen rescues or so this weekend, it’s precisely the 911 channel that’s the problem.

I didn’t advertise it because I don’t know how much longer it’s going to stay.

Back in April, I discussed this topic more in detail about moving the 911 channel from in-game to the E&E discord server. Well, I’m finally scheduling a meeting with the rest of the team this week, and I’ll probably be dropping a thread on the matter for the community to provide their own input. Whether or not the 911 channel remains in-game will be the major talking point.

The other major bit of work I’ve been putting in happened outside Eyes & Ears regarding the advertising initiative I mentioned in the July 15th update. Even as I was writing this post, I ended up getting distracted for about a half-hour.

I’ve talked with a couple of dozen organizations about this, and while I’m getting bites, I’m waiting for the organizations themselves to personally inspect things before they decide to advertise. For now, I’m still waiting for a critical mass of actual advertisers before going public. We’ll see how this develops over the coming week but it should happen before Beta.

That aside, while real life didn’t have me occupied, I spent the rest of my time helping out the load testers in discord. Not much to say there, but I will say that if we do another load test this coming weekend, I’ll hopefully be helping out a lot more.

    ----------

Welcome to the newest members of the team:
@Rrobin - Pilot, Rescuer, Supplies Manager
    @ScorpionStrike - Rescuer

    ----------

That's all for now, until next time, fly safe everyone!
