The slowing forums is people realizing their words fall onto deaf ears that say "we hear your concerns" all the same. We can complain and talk about all the issues here and suggest whatever we want, it just doesn't make a difference. This thread here alone is people voicing and talking about the wipe issue for a month now, making suggestions or stating opinions and observations on specific problems around the wipe. And NQ has not said a thing about it all this time, despite players begging for any word on the matter.

So here we are, talking to eachother and at eachother without the power to make it change anything. And with that realization comes apathy and activity slows down.

Today's changes to radar will force players to once more redesign. They also mean that the genrrally rather antiquated and oversized radar element designs to make designing nice looking ships more difficult as these lements really are not pretty to look at and now ships will need to have warts sticking out..

Today's sensory elements IRL are nothing like this, phased array receivers and emitters have taken over and these are mostly flush and flat on ship hulls and.or masts

The sphere on top is actually the satvav dome..  Radar and comms antennas are the flat elements  ...

I expect that this is another one of the disruptive changes NQ is pushing through which will make players leave..

It's yet another sign the powers that be at NQ really do not understand what the playerbase wants and does.

NQ's wipe is like: someone you love but everytime you ask him/her to start a relationship he/she says 'I dont know'.  Asking every day for a month and still: I dont know...
Can we just date, can we just be friends on Facebook? I dont know...

So the thing imma trying to say is how lots of (ex)players are acting on this forum. Its almost pathetic to read and see.

Dont you guys get the message??? Make up your minds and continue with your lives!

    No means no!!

I myself renewed my sub in January, 8 days later the pancake-wipe update was introduced to me and I instantly quit. I am a grown man over my 40s and I do not fool around. The deathmeter-wipe put me on the edge and the pancake-wipe pushed me over.

I wish all the ppl who play and who dont play lots of fun, but people please.... Be a sensible adult and quit being stubborn.

I stopped all my subscriptions a day after the initial post from NQ (Shedding some fog ....)
With every day passing by my distance from the game grows - to get me back in this game NQ would have to produce a miracle.

Alien core can be a good feature... If only players really need to fight for them, let me show you what we will really have 99% of the time:

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1480246940
(No sound because of comms, sorry)

Why defend a station is a waste of ressources and time?
    - Shields are too low, we can't wait for our ennemies before moving
    - So we will need to travel 300SU+ or warp our entire fleet each time we have to defend, even for nothing
    - Ship aren't protected when dock on a station with a shield (??) - This can help ppl with lot of job/kids or else to setup their ship when they can
    - If we take at least 2 core we have to defend an alien core each day
    - If we want to attack, we add another timer where we need to be, again it can be each day
    - Why we don't have a combat free timer after we win a defense?

With your wipe talk without ANY DECISION, with your patch against any PVP mechanic or method, a big nocare about some of the oldest bugs known in DU... We don't have any other content outside of alien core in PVP now.
We send plenty of idea/feedback for a better PVP or more confortable, we tryhard each PTS for help, report each bug/exploit find even if that lead to another nerf of our content
How can we keep our players hype for Dual Universe?
Why NQ stay so quiet? (Entropy did a nice feedback but only around voxels and shields for PVP but some other part are missed)

Our ennemies got the same problem, maybe more because we are really lucky to have so many ppl still active on DU. Don't kill your game, listen us, don't stay focus on your ideas if everyone say it's not the good way and talk with your community.

For all the complaints, DU's playerbase is surprisingly loyal...NQ has had to try really hard to drive its players away between few and poorly designed updates, a lack of communication, and sometimes-rudeness when they do communicate.

They will be in for a big surprise on release when players aren't so interested in posting their complaints and simply unsub and roll their eyes at the $9.99 they wasted.

It isn't just the lack of progress in making a simple choice that has already been discussed to death on the forums for years...it's the time wasted in learning how to run the game and manage the community for release. Update that brick constructs and poor communication will only make already-bad churn rates that much worse.

This whole wipe discussion and lack of decision/action is just killing the little that remains of the game in its actual state. Last time I logged into DU the game felt ridiculously dead, nobody around and even the market was dead, only buy orders for T1 in District 6 were bot orders. WTF?

I had plans and wanted to do some more work but I simply gave up for the time being and went to play Star Citizen instead. If NQ goes for a wipe then there's no point in doing more grind and stuff, if they don't go for a wipe it will be fine and I can just come back later anyways. I'm sure other players are in the same boat too, and being really honest, the more the world feels dead, the more chances for a wipe to happen, since after all, why would NQ keep all stuff around costing them servers if nobody's playing?

I don't care anymore whether you wipe or not, just ffs make a decision and go with it, if this keeps going for another month+ I'll just unsub and put my money somewhere else. The game tech is cool and all, but the lack of management decisions make NQ look so unprofessional...

Thank you dear NQ team for leaving a small comment. It will definitely not be an easy decision but you have received really good suggestions from the community. In principle, you would now only need to select and weigh what makes the least harm to the future of DU, old and new hares, technically necessary, etc pp. Personally, I have after all the posts and suggestions a golden middle ground together. But since none of us knows what you really need / want to do, it's hard to see through.
So to be honest I'm a little frustrated to be put on the back burner here. It's hard for me to find motivation to continue with the existing projects because I don't know what's going to happen. And I think that's how a lot of people here feel about "keeping the lights on".

Many would argue that DU is still far from reaching the beta phase of development.

    - A beta phase generally begins when the software is feature complete but likely to contain a number of known or unknown bugs.

In terms of removing schematics, a wipe is the worst thing you can do. If you just pull the rug from under us and completely remove schematics in one fell swoop, it would be absolute carnage. But even though some people would be salty that they wasted all of that money, by the next time they need to make a new machine, they would be thankful. If you decide to wipe, however, you would lose practically your entire current player base permanently. I‘ve supported this game since the alpha, and played since the beta, and I want this game to succeed, cause it is the exact game I’ve always wanted made by the most helpful and chill dev team I’ve ever had the pleasure of asking to unstuck my ship. But while I myself might come back to the game post wipe to try and rebuild eventually, I’m afraid- when your game is based around the players- there might not be a game to come back to.
You are also not going to gain players by wiping, as chances are new people won’t be more inclined (maybe even less inclined due to a lack of stability) to buy the game if there has been a recent wipe. The only time having more advanced players would disincentivise new players would be after they’ve already started playing, due to it feeling unfair. In our community, this is by far not the case, as any new player won’t be shunned, but actively helped and elevated to the Same level. I’d take Carothis as an example, as he asked for help with a really obvious thing in the chat. This then led the chat to realise that they were new, so they immediately had multiple people (myself included) personally guiding carothis. Carothis now has a complete mining rig and is the superlegate of an org. That took them 1 day under the communities help. Therefore a wipe would deter new players, as old ones would be too busy rebuilding from scratch to help them.
    tl:dr
Plz no wipe, I don’t want dead gaem.

I think a lot of things are addressed in this news article:
    https://mein-mmo.de/weltraum-mmorpg-wirtschaft-wipe-verunsichert-spieler/
Furthermore, I still don't understand how a wipe is supposed to help new players. New players need content and support, both things will not be available immediately after a wipe.

Who did they ruin what for?

    leaderboards in a sandbox game?

People have different goals in this game but it’s really not a competitive game. I dont need my sandcastle ranked, I just don’t want it kicked over.

moreover, there will still be people who beat other people to this or that goal, and potentially end up in control of it. Actually  I think it will be worse because only the people who can put together the resources, whether they are unemployed or can afford 20 accounts, or are members of a big org, will have access first. Without a construct wipe things like warp engines will be available to basically everyone. I’m not arguing against a wipe at this point, I just wanted to point out the huge hole in your reasoning.

The sooner they announce a wipe, the sooner i can totally concentrate on another game with more trustworthy developers. In case they decide not to wipe my accounts are on standby since 2 weeks, only logged in today to check if one of the patch-bugs hit my accounts.
Automatic payment is off, tiles are paid for 3 month - let's see what happens.

This is a really interesting topic for me since I feel I am quite rich in the game.

I would not mind restarting if it meant the game would be fun, but I feel like the devs have not exactly mastered the game-play loop to make it so fun as to want to do the boring grind to regain my lost wealth.

I think devs should first master the game play loop, worry about wipes later when the game is good and inequality is all that remains as an issue.

idk, what ore I mine, if I don't craft stuff from it, I stockpile it, I finance my tiles through missions, but only in safezone, so I don't have a lot of overhead, which I'm putting aside to get all the advanced schematics i wanted to buy... I'm a slug, like an overly possessive greedy slug with no ambition

When I joined the alpha I tried a lot of stuff, the double wipe utterly killed my ambitions, that shortlived server before the launch was so lame, I played way too hard and in the end something came up IRL and I didn't even get to try weapons on the last weekend, nothing to show for but a stupid stockpile of ore. Then, honestly I kinda forced myself at launch to stockpile stuff, utterly burning myself out from the game, I went at it even harder, this time it was supposed to be for real. Burned out to the point that I'm not even revising my strategies anymore, whenever I have energy to spare on the game I accumulate stuff in case I actually want to play some day, I just know I don't like using t3-t5 because I can't provide them with my robotical daily logins, don't have the schematics nor the talents yet, and I don't want to spend money I could be spending on schematics.

Ugh what am I even doing here. I hate starting over in this game, I've done it too often in too short'a'time, and I suck at/ don't know how to/ detest to ask for help. All the people I tried to lure into the game with my keys went from quickly desinterested, to total disaster one has to throw out of their rdms.

How exactly am I going to half-ass this in a way that reflects how I feel without totally giving up? Daily-login quanta until I have 4 MU... then I might as well sell ore for a while, until I have a scanner a claim, because F* picking up stones and micromanaging the nanopack to get industry quickly, only to be stuck on schematics, AND ALSO F REMOVING SCHEMATICS IF THATS THE MOVE NOW HONESTLY IN A PARANOID AND EGOCENTRIC FRAME OF MIND IT SEEMS LIKE THE GOAL OF THIS GAME IS [filtered] ME INTO THE ROLE OF A MINING SLAVE NO FUN FOR YOU SHOULD HAVE LOOKED AFTER SOME SPACEWRECK DAY1 LOOSER

hehe how depressing I shoud cut my losses just go play another spacegame.
