Cant say well done, if they release a unfinished game, again. We acepted a unfinished release in the beta, but unfinished game in the release?

The core mechanics are not in the game:

    -Territory Warfare
    -Atmosferic Combat
    -Alot planet rework pending
    -No energy system
    -No economy loop

This is just push the game to another Wipe, once they finish all pending features, or  close the project, wen steam bad coments doom it.

I have a different view on it.

If you have subscribed for 1 month, in exchange for losing the 3.8 million skills in the wipe, it will give you 6 million and 1.5x bost

If you have subscribed for 2 years, in exchange for losing 96 million skills in the wipe, they will give you 18 million and 1.5x bost

In both cases you will have to pay 6 months sub, to enjoy a gift in the first case, and suffer a robbery in the second.

To clarify the bonus skill points and quanta are allocated to players at the end of every month over the first 6 months of release. Thus the cumulative talent point reward trend (neglecting any passive skill training) would look something like this. (Note: 1M/month for Advanced, 2M/month for Rare, 3M/month for Exotic)

Now subscription costs vary a little bit based on the taxes in each country/region but for the sake of argument lets assume that a one month sub costs $13. If we perform your proposed analysis and take a look at the total number of skill points rewarded per dollar spent (ignoring any discounts from purchasing larger subscription packs) then we arrive at the following relationship.

As you can see there is indeed diminishing returns like Wyndle indicated so please take this into consideration when deciding whether or not to upgrade your Pioneer Pack. Obviously if you want to be frugal the best option is to meet the minimum subscription requirement for the reward tier you are targeting but remember you don't have to upgrade if you don't want to. These packs are primarily a thank you from NQ and its perfectly fine to just accept it. Cheers.

And facebook.. sorry AlfabetaMetawhatever is going to be the standard by default (for better or worse) simply because they have the money, experience with VR (HW and SW) and more users then they know what to do with.

And if NQ's secret plan is to be bought up by Meta, they have to show something better then what the many, many other VR startups already are doing out there.

The PvE community will never allow a PvP server to exist, they don't like PvP, but they don't like creative servers either, these players like to live the illusion that they are preparing to be pvp players in the future, when they have more skills, when losses can be allowed, when the game works better, or any other excuse that allows them to postpone that decision in the future, staying on a PvE server when there is a PvP server would put them in an emotional situation that is difficult to accept. They just want to keep the illusion of a future with PvP.

Sycopata got a reaction from Knight-Sevy in This game was fine as a sandbox building game
The theme in this post is to promote building just for the pleasure of building? I don't know if I missed something, but right now that's probably the most powered mechanic in the game, and I don't see the game as overflowing with builders, you don't need any kind of exotic material to build creatively, and there are in the game immense safe areas where to build for the pleasure of building.

The issue is that building for the pleasure of building has two problems, the first is that the builders need to show others their works, and the majority of large works built, never they will not be appreciated by anyone, that is why many builders left their ships parked in the markets so that the rest of the players could see them, or put VR stations in the hope that someone would visit their works, the second problem is that when there are no a practical reason to build something, and improve designs, the game ends when the artist's aesthetic inspiration runs out.

Honestly, I think it's having a very narrow vision, not realizing that what you're claiming for the game is precisely the only thing that it offers right now, with solvency, and that precisely what the game needs to offer is what attracts another type of players, with an interest in acquiring and admiring the designs of the builders for practical reasons, such as logistics and combat.

One of the few things that worked in Starbase were the ship shops designed by other players, and despite the fact that people bought aesthetically beautiful ships, they also chose them for their technical capabilities, I would even dare to say that the technical part weighed more in the decision If the game requires no technical ability of the ships, why is it a sand box, what is the point of building a ship? or buy a ship? enjoy the views? take a screenshot?

We are not talking about a minecraft server, where you build on a plot of a city and the rest of the players are dedicated to walking admiring your creation, the game is on a scale too large, so that it can be a creative sand box.

Strongly disagree. Building within the confines of the PvP environment, making designs that both push the limits and still look good, balancing compromises across the board, is far more interesting for me as a ship builder than making yet another hauler or warp shuttle.

You work with cross sections, keeping an eye on mass the whole time so you can keep your max speed as high as possible, as a fast ship has many advantages over a slow one. You keep an eye on thrust, because the more Gs of thrust you can manage, the faster your ship will accelerate and reach the top speed. But more engines for most thrust means more weight and thus lower top speed. Using more military engines or higher-tier military engines means more fuel consumption. Your decision on which weapon-loadout you equip your ship with also impacts the ship's mass and thus its overall performance. If you pick cannons, you pick close-range weapons that require being able to catch up to targets and get in close to them quick, but cannon ammo is relatively heavy compared to other weapon types. So now you fight the compromises of best-as-can-be top speed, thrust and also your ship's dps.

In contrast you can go big tanky battleship, where top speed falls out of the equation and it's all up to the rest of the stats, with focus less on quickness but how tanky you can make the ship. Also, for the most part, ignores cross sections.

THIS requires you to find creative solutions. It provides challenge. You build a million LEGO things that all do the same, how dull would that be.

What an uninformed statement of someone who does not know what they are talking about. Always so quick to judge when you lack the insight to know better.

All I see here is someone who is willingly not involving themselves with PvP pinning all the blame and all their issues with the game onto this aspect of the game, because that's the easy thing to do. Addition of PvP and their future plans to add more mechanics to it is not something bad, just because you feel whatever you enjoy in this game feels neglected for it. NQ is incredibly slow developing this game, most of what they do nowadays is rosey talk of a dream-like future while at the same time shooting down community feedback to what the community wants to see, saying it's not planned, not happening, not possible, or whatever else excuses they can find. That is on NQ though, not on the fact that PvP exists in this game.

Energy = power grid / core size, this mean limited number of combined engines, and sounds perfect in dinamic engines , and also in static engines, to limit the mega factories size.

Recicling also sounds really nice, is just a mew way to sink the overflow stocks of items.

Territory warfare, sems a bait, i no belive you du it before the launch.
New biomas, celestial objects, etc... Sounds nice.

PvE missions need include instanced combat missions.

I have some experience in what happens in a similar game, life is feudal also had a subscription and they wiped the world and the talents, the only compensation was to give an initial bost of double training speed to the players before the wipe, and nothing else , basically we don't own anything, and although we pay for the skills to continue training, legally we only pay for access to the game. So they are within their rights to take away what they want

On the other hand there is the moral factor, which in my point of view, would be extremely immoral to erase talent points, especially when they have been used several times as a reason for compensation or reward. regardless of what we have earned by paying the monthly fee.

Powermanagement (and capcitor) will allow NQ to manage what players can add to their constructs. It will also open up a slew of gameplay option in industry/research to create more effective/efficient elements.. But I somehow expect NQ will do the bare minimum and callit done to tick the box.. pretty much like they have done for years now.

Doing proper power/energy would mean you massively disrupt your game and that is something NQ really can't afford post release.

IF there is a reset there are at minimum two main things that have to be retained upon a wipe. The first you already mentioned which is the core BPs. These are what we have spent hours designing and building within the game. The second one is that talent points need to be retained as it is a representation of the TIME that we have already invested in the game. No I do not mean partial I mean all as this is something that differentiates those in the BETA and the release.

Additionally a HIGHLY recommended one is to have our Organizations carried over as there can easily be people who will use the opportunity to take the names of popular existing organizations within the community. Not doing so would cause a lot of issues withing the community.

    Hello, Noveans!

I’m Cyrille Fontaine, Creative Director here at Novaquark. These are exciting times and I wanted to give everyone an overview of our objectives and direction for Dual Universe.

A game like Dual Universe is a never ending labor of love and ongoing development, but there is a point when you just need to assess if it is ready for a release. After close to two years of testing and numerous major additions to the game, we have decided to prepare the game for launch.

Development of Dual Universe continues at full speed, and we’re spending the lion’s share of our focus right now on fixing bugs, stabilizing the game, improving our back-end systems, and overall continuing to polish the game.

We’re close to deploying a brand new feature that we expect will be a hub for creators and merchants alike to gather and present themselves to other players. It’ll be open to anyone who wishes to participate and advertise their shop, museum, service, or any other point of interest.

We’re also working hard to deliver our promises to our Kickstarter backers that supported us from the beginning. We’re searching for a new shipping partner to deliver the physical rewards as well as delivering the digital rewards through the major game updates of 2022. We’re also implementing an initial web-based version of DACs.

Our team continues to analyze game data and read your feedback to focus our efforts on where we can be most effective, and this means that our plans can change with developments in the game, but looking to the future, I want to share some of what we currently have planned in upcoming content updates for Dual Universe.

Flotillas are a new feature we’re developing that will allow players to form temporary groups of constructs. These will help in identifying friend from foe, assuming your foes haven’t already infiltrated your squad. This will improve many different aspects of group play ranging from fleet engagements, running convoys, piracy, and more.

Another gameplay feature we’re looking to add is recycling, which would enable players to better manage their inventories by turning parts of broken or unwanted elements back into components.

We want to expand PvE with the goal of helping players bring the game-world to life and improving the story in which everyone experiences the game. The mission system is one area of focus for this goal in developing more complex, interconnected, and lore-oriented objectives.
We’re also developing a power management system. A good way to consider how energy will work is to look at how construct maximum speeds have changed. Players must decide how to specialize each ship, and similarly, must make choices on how best to distribute power across their constructs.

We want to increase the quantity of discovered planets and moons as well as new aspects, biomes and gameplay opportunities, and to produce planetoids the size of big asteroids, much like the Thades belt rocks, but claimable as a territory.

One of the most resource-intensive features that we have to tackle is planetary warfare. It brings significant change to the game and, before we can achieve it, we have to bring PvP in general to a more mature state. We know that territory warfare is an important game system to many of you, so continue to help us improve PvP by engaging in fights to generate data for us to analyze and continue to improve the system.

There are also many other features that we are looking to improve or introduce in the future.

Now, let’s discuss the topic of a reset.

We have seen your many posts across Discord, our forums and social media. We’ve heard your frustration and know that many of you are waiting for a decision about whether or not we will reset. Let me assure you that no matter what we decide, you will not be reset back to square one. Of the different options we’ve been discussing in case of a reset, we are certain that you will keep your core blueprints, including blueprints owned by an organization that you lead. We are also looking into which other important parts of your game progress could be kept if we do reset.

Yes, the internal discussion about a possible reset does continue, and it’s no exaggeration to say that this is the most significant decision we currently have to make for Dual Universe. We appreciate our players and your engagement with us, but I also want everyone to know that all of us here at Novaquark are eagerly awaiting the day we can share concrete news with you.

That is all for this message. Until next time, thank you for your attention, Noveans!
Please don't hesitate to provide your feedback here.
    - Cyrille Fontaine (NQ-Kyrios)

One Idea was to go to player driven Schematics, and i you want to produce a t3 schematic, you have to destroy x t2 schematics, that uses ores. And if schematics are not permanantly
e.x. only for xxxxxxx uses you have to craft them again, and it uses ores again.

Other solution : Take out t4 and t5 ores from planets, so players have a reason to fly to asteroids or to aliencores.

there are many ideas but do something for the econmy!

Speculating with the wipe is a very bad idea. This is how things are now:

1-The players who are against the wipe, are acting as if the wipe is possible, failing to play seriously.
2-The players who are in favor of the wipe are not burning their resources to enjoy the pre-wipe, just in case the wipe does not come.
3-Therefore both players who want a wipe and those who don't want a wipe are losing.

What would happen if the wipe is announced?

1-Players who are in count of the wipe, could decide if they want to play after the wipe and play the pre wipe or leave the game.
2-The players who are in favor of the wipe, will be able to play the pre wipe, and prepare the wipe.
3-Therefore, some players lose, others win, but decisions can be made

What would happen if a no wipe is announced:

1-Players who don't want the wipe could go back to normal in the game
2-Players who want the wipe would have to decide if they want to play in a broken economy mmo.
3-Therefore, some players lose, others win, but decisions can be made.
