Yea i agree. Mainly because of the lack of resources to do a balanced PVE.

But i feel like a middle ground is missing.

I would love to see a duel system. Where 2 players or 2 forces would agree to have a duel in a PVP free zone, protected from 3rd party interrupts.
Maybe even with the choice of a rule set, like loot able ships at the end, quanta bets, etc.

I do not enjoy the game currently and am taking a break from it.
But i mostly hate playing the industry part. Dont mind trading, mining or pvp.

I would like this game to evolve to a 50% pve - 50% pvp.

Nope. You wanted an easy (defenseless) kill to loot. NQ said No, now you are frustrated.
    it's a normal reaction.

But you should encourage NQ to add actual fun stuff to do in the game.

    Yes and no.

Yes, i think a wipe has already been decided.

No, it would still make sense even without a wipe.
Currently, being beta and with all the issues around the game not being interesting, NQ has not activated any real "abandoned subscription" measures.
But I fully expect those measures to be implemented at release.

But a "abandoned subscription" is an account without a valid DAC for several months.

If someone keeps paying the DACs for their account, their stuff will never be deleted/abandoned.

    A quick note:

While its 100% legit for anyone to talk about the impact of NQ's decision, it is not ok to say that NQ intended this or that. Unless we have direct prof.

    What i mean is.

Its ok for any player to say "I felt threatened by the automatic abandoning of territories"
Because this is a feeling you own. Its yours to state as a fact.

But its not Ok to say "NQ wanted to threaten players with the automatic abandoning of territories"
Because what NQ intended to do is not yours to state as a fact.

Saying that NQ intended to threaten players can be considured an insulting accusation.

YOU ARE WRONG. The terms of use of this forum were accepted by you when you joined.
You should not have joined in the 1st place if you did not agree with the terms. You are at fault here for expecting what was written down as not expected.

Also, i perfectly explained why i agree with the decision. Make sure to comment on those reasons too to have an enriched reply.

I agree with NQ decision. And i dont think its censorship, because any player can still "like" posts and can still create new topics and replies.

Also, any one of us agreed to NQ moderation to be on this forum, so if you disagree you can remove you account from this private owned forum and use your freedom of speech in places not owned by NQ.

But i agree mainly because polls mainly are used to create misinformation, because polls restrict the possible answers to a few answers that creator have carefully chosen to promote his goal.

    Here is my example:

Now, could they do it with an announcement? Yes.
Would it change your opinion that this is censorship? No.

joaocordeiro got a reaction from aliensalmon in Are you guys excited about the James Webb Space Telescope?
There are several points of view to give you this answer.

Yes, i am very excited about its imaging capabilities.
If everything goes according to plan, it will provide us with wanderfull new information and images.

But, im kind of pessimistic about the entire project.
The project is composed by a large quantity of extreme mechanisms that all have to work flawlessly.
And the telescope wont go to 500km altitude where it can be repaired, like Hubble.

If i add the history of Nasa, regarding telescopes, to the amount of details needed for success, with the delays the project has suffered, to the recent accident, to the location that its going to be sent, I feel like the odds are against it.

And being hyped like it is being, it will only cause a massive frustration to everyone if something goes wrong.

For those that dont know what has details that im talking about here are some:
The telescope has several mirrors that are folded, will have to unfold perfectly, and i mean, PERFECTLY. One micron too far is a massive failure.
The telescope imaging sensors (the camara) have to be actively refrigerated, those are aimed to detect heat waves (IR to microwaves) and if the sensor is too hot, it will generate radiation it self. This requires an container with a cooling agent that will have to last years. This requires a precise control over how much cooling agent is used. Too much, we will have the telescope rendered useless in months. Too little, images gathered are full of noise and useless.
To prevent the entire telescope from heating because of the sun, there are 3 reflective shields that have to be deployed to cast a shadow into the telescope.
Those shield are rolls of a metallic reflective foil and conposed of several triangle shaped forms per shield.
The chances of all (12-30 shapes?) unfolding after the stress of launch and months of cold harsh inter planetary trevel dont look very good in my eyes.
Then all the mechanisms focus movement, reaction wheels, aeronautics, comunications have to be in working condition
And all the theory, mathematic calculations have to be perfect (we have seen this fail with Hubble)

I really hope it delivers, but im not putting my money on that horse.

I think territories should not be a necessity for building and mining. But owning a territory should increase the rewards and provide security.

The nebula has nothing to with realism or decoration.
The nebula was added to create some contrast between the dark part of space stations and the darkness of space.
To solve the issue of players colliding against stations because they could not see them.

Also, being smart has nothing to do with recognizing enhanced telescope images. You need knowledge and experience to do that.
If you dont know that most of the picture details in Hubble pictures were not captured using visible light, but instead, infrared, how can you understand how those images were "changed" so we could see colors we usually cant see.

Also, if you are in the middle of a dense (light blocking levels) gas nebula, you will see the nebula it self being illuminated instead of far away stars.

joaocordeiro got a reaction from CptLoRes in Question about macro for mining calibration.
    Hi.

Along most players, I find my self "enjoying" the calibration mini game and the need to calibrate. (sarcasm)

    I hate it...

My game joy is now restricted to fly around alioth/sanctuary with my xs ship helping new players.
Since i dont charge, i have to craft my own fuel.

This leads me to auto mining on my sanctuary territory.
But i hate the entire mechanic except the part of my container filling up.

So i was wandering if i could use a macro to simply accept the default calibration value and start mining.

No decision would be involved, just a sequence of clicks.

Btw, if any NQ is reading, please allow mining, without any human interaction on sanctuary.

    No more taxes!!!

I belive the answer could be allowing the rotation of the flattening tool so we could align it with the walls of the cube and get a clean surface.

This would also allow for ppl to make paths and roads around the map has we would be able to flatten acording to the terrain slope.

    Sure, i was being sarcastic..

In the end we need a ton of NQ sponsored content.

In my head, NQ could make player competitions for interesting content and then populate the world with copies of that content.

But that would require some concepts to be introduced:
    Loot and loot boxes
    Lua controled avatars
Creative mode with dev level tools

Then again this leads to AvA, NPCs and dungeons.

    Yea...
NQ dropped the ball on this one..
Instead of making it extremely cheap and then raising the cost to adjust to the need, they went with the highest cost they could justify...

Maybe they are trying to fix the econony problem with making mining hard.

But something was left out of this equation: user experience...

joaocordeiro got a reaction from Zireaa in DU suffers from an identity chrisis since JC got sacked. What kind of game are they even making now? Anyone?
And what was the great, well defined identity this game had before JC went out?

I dont think that DU's issue is missing an identity.
I think DU's issue is not providing sustainable joy for most players.

A fix of most issues, would be adding NPCs, avatars and ships.

Maybe that would confuse the identity of the game even more. But it would make it sustainable from the emotional point of view.
