It very nice to have. But i think all the building in side territory should build by Org as they can easily city planing. *Borrow a land then build a giant Pen.... there*. But city with same define building then some unique building as HQ of some sort of thing is a good looking one ?

That's a totally different mechanic (overheating, over driving etc) that has nothing to do with what I am proposing.

Remember what I am proposing is just basically an extension of what NQ has said they had in mind as far as game play goes.

Let's hope so. Just sharing my view on this subject because i actually lost interest when JC said the NDA will not go away. Probably it's the same for a lot of other people.

And i know there are always projects being developed, but MMOs have been stagnated for quite some time to a point people even give a chance to asian free to play MMOs in hopes for it to be the next big thing, which obviously will not happen when such horrible business model is implemented. 2020 tho, it seems we will get a decent list of choices with actual some potential to be good unlike the last 5 years.

The Project That Will Change DU Forever
Be apart of the biggest engineering undertaking the game may ever see   The Dyson Sphere Initiative was formed on the idea that in such a large MMO such as DU, nearly anything is possible. We have been told this project is in fact impossible, but we are here to challenge that, we believe the creation of a Dyson Sphere is possible and we plan to do this. Make no mistake, this will be an undertaking of a scale so large, full moons and maybe planets will be completely mined. We will mine, store our resources and build. If NQ allows it, we will create drones to help us in this mega structure creation. When the project finishes, the sphere and all it's benefits will be shared among all who aid us. This is not a true org in a sense, only a collection of people who have come together for one goal, the creation of a Dyson Sphere, an achievement which would change DU, forever.

    That assumption wouldn't make sense.

We know that the amount of objects in the game world impacts ANY game. In the case of moving objects, that impact is higher. For instance, EVE severely limits which ships can deploy drones and how many they can deploy.

Without remotely controlled drones, the amount of moving constructs in DU cannot exceed the amount of active players, but if drones and bots become a thing, the amount of moving constructs at any given moment could increase by several orders of magnitude.

If small org can compete with large org with robot and automation it is a broken feature. I know someone will say big org will monopoly but allow the small org have ability to compete with large org by robot/automation is a good thing ?

If small org can do it there will be a lot of one man Org and the good for being a large org will be gone. IT will be no point for being a large org.

You say only people can mine will decrease the OP of robot ?! I dont think so. in DU there is many thing to do with robot aside from mining. Battlebot, construct bot, transport bot, ... all make the life of small group easier and big group more bad.

i can understand your argument Aaron. But remember the more you big the more problem you have to deal with with little gain. The big thing i think every large or extra-large will have to deal with is their unity and control their org.

Those downside isnt appear with small group as they are small so they can easily control and hold unity easier than big org. As you say what you think can hold small org to build and master a number of robot small than a big org ? Dont underestimate dedicate player. IF there is a hole to exploit people will and always will try to exploit it.

I hope not. Kill boards advertise that the game is all about killing. If there are kill boards then there should also be "best build" boards, exploration boards, manufacturer boards, and mining boards.

DU is not EVE. It should being DUing it's own thing, not making an EVE 2.0.

I would assume that market terminals themselves will have access rules, just as cores have currently. They may also be controllable via RDMS rules.

The simplest solution will probably be to setup 2 terminals, one for the general public and one for your internal org members. That way you can set different prices and tax rates easily.

From this point Dev hasnt say much but from Claim system and RDMs (Right & Duty Management System) it can create a some of your list:
First you need to claim the land into your hand. You will need a thing called TU ( Territory Unit) which will claim that land and put all thing inside that land under its RDMs. Then the game begin:
+Land deed: You can transfer your land as you transfer the owner of the TU.
+leasing and renting: You can create a tag from RDMs to create a warranties to give player temporary right to do anything in there in a certain of time (or until you remove it from them ) and make them pay the next money to keep the tag.
+subfueldination: i dont understand what is it.
+property tax: Well this thing i dont know much yet about it.
+collective ownership: ?What it mean, you mean organization property ? Hmm from what i view of the dev blog, you cant alone grinding or have enough power to get or protect a TU as it is expensive.
+public land: You can set tag for everyone to bypass or get inside your land.
+ arbitration of disputes:  You mean solve conflict between 2 side about who own the land ? Well in DU if any org can grow to big enough and it happen in side their range of power then yeah it will be a thing, but if not only WAR.
+land registry : Like i say you can claim a no man's land but if it is other people ? buy it. Take it by force. rent it. trick the owner.

    @BandaTalk
Black market is a thing always have in any game with or without a work economic in game. It born to satisfied the greed of the player so yeah it iwll ahve inside DU but it will be something more detail as DAC is a part of game.
There will clear stock/ ... market in DU as it is a way for player to trade with other but the thing is how it will be born ?! IT will born on the demand of the market. At the beginning you will see there will be small trade like i need this of your and you need this of mine so let trade. But after the start stage and piracy appear ( a lot of Org in DU have set this as a way to grow and one of them is very big ) also the scale will increase will create market. And black market is for people who dont trade in the light ( high wanted , got a lot of bounty on their head, ... ) and the so...
About insurance ? Lucky that Dev have see this part and agree to create a function for people who want to work in this side.
And about the bank... not much clear as much people here is from EVE (one of the most successful MMO and working economic ) not have a nice look about bank as this is a virtual world so do the responsibility.

ShioriStein reacted to Mod-Meldrik in Subscriptions and DAC's: Can You Afford Them?
Yeah, that has been an ongoing confusion regarding that aspect.

When NQ refers to the DAC tokens as "Non-Physical" items, they are referring to the real world. You won't be able to find a DAC at your local dollar store or super center, because they are not a physical card.  So to answer that question, yes, DACs will be "Physical" items in the Virtual World of Dual Universe. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to move them to the market or from inventory to inventory.

Here's a link to more details regarding that matter. (Take it with a pinch of salt as this information is now almost 2 years old)

As mentioned in the forum rules, please do not necropost on old threads as you have done already several times.
(The forum rules has been updated to indicate what is considered an old thread)
Granted, this time you stay in the limits but keep this in mind for the next times.

Now to reply on the topic:
Fallout56 is a multiplayer game and NOT a MASSIVELY multiplayer game. Todd Howard confirmed that during the E3 2018 Bethesda Conference. So it can be compared to Minecraft, Ark, Conan Exiles... but clearly not to MMORPGs where the server infrastructure cost is exclusively handled by the Dev Studio or Publisher.
The Subscription model is one of the few topics not open to discussion. We have already talked in great length about why we went for a subscription model and no, there is no solid argument countering the reasons why we chose this model.
      1) Dropping monthly subscription to have more players is not a valid argument if the server infrastructure cost grows proportionally to the player base size while incomes don't grow accordingly.

    2) Saying subcription is an outdated model is not a valid argument as it relies on personal opinion not backed by solid reasons. Seeing less MMORPGs using monthly subscription is not a solid reason if there is no understanding about the "why".

Here is how we view the situation at Novaquark: monthly subscription model has been on the decline due to nearly no clear innovation in the MMORPG industry during the last decade. As new MMORPGs had to offer something different than those already well settled in the market (World of Warcraft, EVE Online, etc), if they weren't going to offer something really new, they had to be different on another level: monetization model. That's how the Free to Play games wave began. Many marketing representatives said many times that "Free to Play" was the future and most people believed it. Inconvients of such model were put under the rug... for a time. The question "Is F2P good or bad?" is irrelevant. Free to Play is a good monetization model good for some kind of games. We just don't think MMORPGs is among those. When you aim to have a game lasting for decades, you need to have steady income for decades as well. Free to play game incomes are too fluctuant, especially because they rely on the success of cosmetics (which is a everlasting gamble for a company as no one knows for sure in advance if players will love the new cosmetics and how much income it will generate before they hit the shop) and lootboxes.

Ironically, there has been recently a huge witch hunt about lootboxes. While we totally understand the reasons, it's a bit surprising that this problem has been exposed only recently, as lootboxes are as old as the Free to Play model and represents nearly always a (very) large part of F2P or B2P game incomes. Surprisingly, with this kind of monetization now forbidden in a growing number of countries, discussions about monthly subscription model are a thing again for many studios and publishers.

    3) Saying people want to make a one time payment is not a valid argument either: nobody with some common sense can ask for a one time payment (at the price of an average game) and expect to have a service lasting forever.

    @Sofernius

    Quite unlikely.
From a financial point of view, that would mean taking more risks than necessary: as said above, it would mean going from a steady income model to a fluctuant income model. Cosmetics make a good complementary income to B2P and subscription models but again, making it the main income of a game is very risky, especially if the structural costs for a game are high.

Those two things are already planned
Beta Key giveaways and Trial period at official release.

    Best Regards,
    Nyzaltar.
