A spooky Halloween to you all or some such, I'm Australian and we don't really celebrate it, so hope you're having a swell day regardless.

As I promised, I'd share some extra data for the month, such as average member count and etc.

Anything in the following data referred to as 'growth' means members joining or leaving organizations.

Average Growth Per Day (1st - 31st): 7.5

I think its safe to say almost everyone on the forums is very excited for this game, and are on the hype train. So jump on board with the rest of us 
I've never been in a alpha like this either, so it will be interesting so see and play. 
As for first steps you have done the first one, introducing yourself.  Next thing I would do is look for a organization to join or create your own, if that interests you.

I backed at the kickstarter program and I'm really excited about this game!
 
I never was in an alpha before, but I guess this testing will be alright - I have faith in novaquark.
 
Are there any advices for first steps on the forum? Or some social media?

How about creatures dropping their head as loot? So we can put them in our houses as trophy, that would be very cool.

Well, we better ask for that particular Expansion from the Devs then :| Let's beg them to add it along with the Stargates.

So say I want to have a shipping company organization to make money bringing things to people.
 
Assumptions:
You can buy goods without having to be next to the pick up location.
Quests can be created which give permissions to the person or organization to pick up stuff for you.
Quests can be accepted from anywhere.
 
 
Person buys 500 materials and a schematic from someone 2 hours round trip away...
Person creates quest for someone to bring these items to them.
 
Person in shipping organization accepts quest... then dispatches someone in the Org who is near the pick up point to get the items.
Items dropped off at warehouse for loading on to regularly scheduled cargo flight.
Flight takes items to destination warehouse while being protected by either the Orgs protective ships or another org hired for that...
Person takes items from warehouse to quest givers drop off point.
 
 
 
If quests can't be created to give the necessary permissions... then instead of buying stuff in advance... quests will have to be set up for the shipping company to go buy the stuff and bring it.
 
I think quests will also need to:
Provide rewards...
Have time limits... with maybe diminishing rewards until 0 and failure
Conditional Penalties... No penalty if you still get the items... penalty of the cost of the items if items were lost in transit.
 
I mean if you bought the items then sent the shipping company to get them and they get stolen... then the shipping comp needs to reimburse you...  If you can't given them permissions to pick up your stuff for you then this isn't an issue.

Hello there fellow enthusiasts, I am CaptainKingz, or CraftingKingz. Few of you may have already seen my posts, but I'd thought I'd introduce myself and a little background. I am an aspiring entrepreneur who started off playing loads of Minecraft since 2011. That's where I got my original title of CraftingKingz, which I only use for some games nowadays. I played loads of Yogscast complete modpack with my buds and loved the factory feel and idea. When I first discovered Dual Universe (through a facebook ad) I was hooked. I ran to my wallet and backed the with an honest Iron Founder package. I do plan on buying higher tier packages too when that shop is set up. I saw the videos and read every update about ship building and construction and I loved the idea. I created my own organization in hopes of providing the whole universe with cheap and reliable transportation. I really want to give into this great game's community and be an active member of the forums, and also build up my organization before the game's release. I hope all y'all in the community can accept and welcome me into your family and help shape this game for the better.

Hello. I'm Almanac. A scholar and explorer of sorts. I suppose an understanding of the kind of person I think I am would be a good place to start. (I say think, because I don't really know how people perceive me)
 
My personal info on my profile says: "I'm a writer. I'm also very good at analysing political situations and group mentality. I've been in charge of large virtual organisations before, but I have no interest in management on Dual Universe. I'm interested in being a builder really, I love the idea of exploring and building, and being creative. Where that leads me, I'm not quite sure."
 
 
I feel more detail is needed. When I say "I've been in charge of large virtual organisations before" that's something of a vague stretch if I'm honest. I managed a role-playing sim on Second Life, two of them, housing around 150 active members each. I suppose in Dual Universe terms, that wont be considered large at all. But the management involved system designing, admin responsibilities and more work than most expect. I enjoyed it immensely, but it somewhat took over my life and caused IRL issues. So I don't plan to delve into that again to avoid a repeat of the last time.
 
 
I'm a writer, wanting to be an author eventually; but despite what I would consider an 'adept grasp' of literature and sentence structure, you will still find that I commit grammatical and spelling mistakes from time to time. Dyslexia is a b*tch. Hurray for spellcheck.

Now... about Dual Universe...
 
I have no understanding of what I'm doing. I backed the project and will get into the Beta and stuff, which is gonna be cool, but I'm not sure what I'll do when I get there. I love the idea of building things, but I have zero programming capability. I love the idea of exploration, but I'll be joining/have joined The Aether so I'm not sure how much 'lone explorer' time I'll get. I'm also very VERY new to the forum, less than a week old and haven't really done much other than read a few things in the shadows. So consider me green in the understanding of how much has already been developed socially within the game (in the context of clans and organisations and stuff).
 
I hope to make friends, find my place, and work hard to create something great.

(PS: I've never paid for a subscription game before, and its something I'm extremely hesitant to start doing now. I'm giving Dual Universe a trial run and intend to devote myself to it while I have it available to me (once released) before paying. My hope is that Dual Universe delivers enough on its promises to convince me to stick around. No game has managed yet, but Dual Universe might just be the one. ^-^ )

Hey guys. Just recently decided to get involved with the community now that the KS is all done. Pretty awesome it go funded! I got the Gold pledge, so see you guys in alpha.
 
I'm in a toss up between deciding to focus on being a builder, or going all combat. But I guess I can always do both when the game comes out.
 
 

I've done some digging around the main site and such on the Lore and background of the game about the Earth being wiped out the Ark ships but couldn't really find anything on what life was like in the years leading up to the announcement of the impending doom and the years during after until the great exodus.
 
Stuff like government structures, Democracy still in place?, Corporations take over? Societal and cultural sects and classes, viewpoints, stuff like that. Would really help I think build better back stories and such for our characters.  

Heyo all; I am Andrivullar, shorthanded to Andr [most cant pronounce the name haha] And I'm curious how to get into the alpha; i came from the golden years of EvE Online, during goon and Bob wars. Eve Online has since lost its way, and dual universe looks promising to fill that void and more. Cheers everyone!

Hi! I just saw this game and I'm really bummed I missed the kick starter but I want to still get involved! I used to play EVE Online which is also a spaceship game. I really liked the action in EVE Online and I'd love to get in a group like that her, but a couple of the groups I have looked at have been either super strict or rally wacky and not serious. Are there any groups for privateering/piracy that are actually a little bit honorable? Or any big groups that have a subgroup like that?

Thats okay if Dev's not add it into the game on the first launch but still, i would love to accept these kind of features if they want to add it in the future

Exactly, players is the key to make the game feel "Alive" but i think this kind of Fauna also give some sweet addition into the "Alive" feels
