No idea, since you are in the USA, and I am in Europe. Here you can find the 2070super for ca. 400 Euros everywhere.

Since the FX-9590 is an AM3+ socket CPU you will not be bale to upgrade to a new CPU on the same motherboard and may need to also update memory when you do upgrade CPU.

If you need to save up, right now I'd wait and start with getting.

ASUS PRIME X570-P (make sure it is upgraded to at least 2802 BIOS to support Zen3)
AMD 5800X (5600X probably fine too but I'd go 5800X)
    2x8GB DDR4 3200 RAM

Then as money permits add a Nvidia RTX 3060 (or 3070 if you play at 1440p), another 16GM memory and a 1TB NVMe M.2 SSD
That would set you up for a good bit of time before you need to upgrade again.

^^^^ what he said..  I'm running an RTX 2060 super and keeping 60fps most of the time. The 2070 super would be quite a good % better again. You have a faster processor than me it looks like. I'm running 32gb of memory but I think that is overkill.

Since nvidia, for that money you could get an RTX 2070super, which works great with DU.

    Greetings Noveans,

This is your newest Community Manager, NQ-Naunet, reporting for duty! ?

It’s no secret to all of you that Dual Universe has undergone some changes in recent months; the launch of Beta, an increase in fan-made content appearing across our social channels (bye, bye NDA), and new NQ staff members popping up all over the community... just to name a few! Exciting things are on the horizon for all of us, and we couldn’t be happier about it.

The first big mission I propose we tackle together, should you choose to accept it, involves this space right here - the forums. In the interest of keeping things tidier, more useful and fun for everyone, we’ve been thinking about giving this place a bit of a makeover.

If that piques your interest, read on to see what we’ve got planned so far. We propose:

Cleaning up some older, less relevant pinned posts and limiting future pinned posts to ~5 per topic. Archiving older, pre-Beta material. Creating a dedicated Beta category! Adding an “Innovation Station” space for creators to show off what they’ve been building in-game. Changing the look and feel of the forums with a brand new theme. Implementing an “Organization of the Month” series to highlight some of the amazing things all of you are getting up to together.
What we’d like from you is your feedback, as it’s important to us that this place continues to be made for you, by you. Please let us know:

Which topics/threads you feel should be preserved! (Tutorials, lore, etc.) What sorts of categories you might like to see! Any theme/styling suggestions you may have. Anything else you think we should know about the forums/our proposal.
I’m really looking forward to hearing your thoughts and getting to know all of you a little better. Together, I think we can whip this place into the best shape it’s ever been in! ?

~ NQ Naunet, over and out.

There is active and known RMDS exploits which will allow access to containers. Also, by posting this information you pretty much indicate you also used the linked container exploit as this amount of material is near impossible to simply lift off of a planet.. But thanks for the evidence which I have saved and will keep in case it is needed

It was only a matter of time before the exploiters in the game would come out as NQ pretty much wrote them a blank check.

The game is already niche, the total player base will maybe eventually be able to keep the singe cluster viable and profitable, splitting it up certainly will not.

IMHO, there is no realistic vision for the game. It makes me sad. The promises are so vague and grand, people see everything in DU.

After six years of dev, the foundations for this game should be done and solid as diamond.

You can't build a civilization on a cracked foundation, and this foundation is like a thick soup. If someone told me this game has been in dev for 10 months, I'd believe them.

JC isn't a game designer. He's an ideas person. It's dangerous when someone like that is at the helm, because they have fleshed out exactly 0 real details about how the game will actually function. It is a collection of "great ideas" and "hey wouldn't this be so cool" without a comprehensive plan. A complex project requires a solid foundation. That means knowing exactly what's going to be built on top of it.

The balance between building and PvP should have been hammered down years ago; instead, they seem to be completely winging it

Humility is really important in development. Ideas that seem easy rarely are, especially at scale. Everything is soul-crushingly difficult. Being a brilliant roboticist doesn't mean you're going to be a humble leader that listens to designers and engineers that have been down this road countless times.

If anyone remembers Lionshead and their propensity to overpromise...try "Civilization Sandbox".

I do hope NQ can focus and make some definitive progress in the next few months. They need a veteran in the field with fresh perspective that can challenge JC's inexperience and hasn't spent 10,000 hours staring at the game...

The absurdity is in that if Devs wanted to be sneaky and doing scary bad things they'd be doing it with non NQ-Name alts.

Complaining about NQ-Whatever owning something is pretty absurd.

Oh no - a dev holds 37 territories!

I saw those territories yesterday long before this post and couldn't possibly care less.

I'd be concerned if a player had them - but devs, in a beta? Who cares....well I suppose apparently I know "who" cares - the OP - but it's pretty silly...

Oh oh, easy there with the accusations

To all we know this could just be happening in order to test something. As counter hypothesis: this might as well be based on a bug report by some player who said that owning more than a certain number of tiles leads to bug xyz. Or maybe that area has been reported to be bugged. Or even something completely different. And this being done on the live server can easily be justified by everything being in active development beta status. Maybe it's even required to do it here if it only happens at current circumstances only present in the live system.

The thing is: we don't know.

On top of this: nobody complained about Aphelia owning... err as much tiles as equivalent to 20km diameter (or even radius?) around it? And nobody accuses GMs of cheating when they teleport players around? Come on, I think we can relax. I'm sure NQ-Sophon won't turn his power against the player population or build some dark empire or take our fun away

If they want wars to happen sometimes down the lane over resources, then those resources need to be finite and not respawn magically, also there seem to be some scavenging gameplay which means at least a percentage of the resources will be recycled.

Guys, in all this discussions (that in different forms lasting now for years), you missing 3 important points:

    1) Current generation will not need to last long, only until NQ remake of plantes (~ 3 m / half of year), with this whole world will be renewed.
    2) When planets regened (and all ore restored), they then add Space Mining, that I strongly suspect, will have some renewable mechanic in it.
    3) Then it will be whole new systems eventualy...

Also, to be honest, NQ proved to be relativly "soft and caring" developer for casual player base, so if some critical situation with ore developes, they most likely agressivly intervene to balance it.

All this means realisticly --  there is nothing to fear, some minor scarcitiy is possible, but nothing more.

The early game is a bit slow, but the tutorial should have had you buy an S cargo container and container linking / link as active inventory is a wonderful thing. You should have funds for a few of them so cargo space is not that big of a problem if you manage them right.

Agreed. I'd also like to see linking elements between constructs.

There are no npcs yet, and I think npc pirates/etc won't be a thing.

No man's sky also has a lot of resource grinding, especially to build a good sized base.

Not that kind of game. Check the F1 help intro sometime.. it's not going to be a basic survival game, as your suit provides all the necessities of life.

Due to the automated production of materials and components, all production is of the best quality. We aren't manual blacksmiths / crafters learning how to do that.

You can, however, train skills that affect the stats of placed elements.

    Relaxed guys.
I think regardless of what would be the best way, it will still be a long and rocky road to balance the game in all areas.
Not only trading or mining needs revisions, but also pvp itself. Strictly speaking, everything still has to be adjusted or balanced.
If the economy is not yet working properly in any area, there isn't really much you can do except wait until the individual points are further tinkered with.
Trading, mining, piracy, building and everything else that is possible is all still under development.
At the moment there is frustration with PVP for a number of reasons. If you make the change recklessly and remove the SafeZone, then the dealers will be frustrated .... So there is still a lot of work to do.

Furthermore, it sounds to me that PVP can only consist of two fronts.
    Hunters and Traders ...
If a lot of PVP horny hunters are waiting outside the safe zone, why don't they fight each other?
Sounds for me only merchants get busted xD

For all my fellow flightsim fans, I really wanted to add an artificial horizon on a mountable screen. Here's a quick script to do that. I made it as simple as possible to use, so you don't need to know anything about scripting. Just follow the instructions on this page: https://github.com/kaen/du-scripts/tree/master/artificial_horizon

I'm planning on expanding this to other screen-based HUDs as a unified flight deck console script. For now though, just the artificial horizon.

There seems to be a pattern emerging over the last few years. A few game programmers get together and dream up a whizz-bang game, then seek investors or get players to 'sponsor' them.  However, it seems that the concepts they dream up are not all technically possible.  So, they develop the game and put it to market as a sandbox Alpha while they get the basics working. Then comes the Beta release where the basics are supposed to be working and go on to fixing bugs, introducing new planned content.  When it all works, it gets a full release. Haha, not so. In the case of DU "Single Shard", means that all players are on the 1 server, only the server can't handle the number of connections, causing frequent disconnects.  This is basic stuff. It appears that the system has not been thoroughly tested, because if it were, the game wouldn't have been released in Beta, where new players are expected to pay a subscription to play.

Games like Empyrion Galactic Survival and Star Citizen also have basic issues that have never properly dealt with. Playfields not rendering fully, laggy, constructs missing, costing CR to rebuy de-spawned constructs, and the list goes on.  Entropia Universe with it's real market economy marketed as a free game, however in the early stages a buy up of CR is necessary to get a start.  Then they reduce the amount of most of the loot, leaving even the most experienced players to grind for hours just to keep their ships, and shops running.  Real Life money invested in buying virtual shops, where the lag is so bad, keeping shops stocked is severely hampered.  One of the playfields has been left only partially developed and abandoned. But players are still encouraged to visit and play.

It appears these guys have the big ideas, but when it comes to execution they can't get the technical aspects to work properly and then come up against business restraints like cash flow, retaining and attracting experienced staff etc., and the whole thing falls into disrepair.  All the while, mug players like me shell out $$ for a poor quality product having been sucked in by the sales hype and Spin. IMO, it all comes down to Quality Assurance, thorough testing and the ethic of 'do it right and do it once'.  My rant over.

They aren't planning on wiping.  There are talks of a terrain wipe, but you will be compensated the mats to do a one time free re-deploy of your base.  You will keep all your inventory, dynamic cores, talents, quanta, etc.  That is there intention anyway, and said would only have to wipe if something crazy happens.
