I thought that this never ending stream of complains may be really tiring for the devs so I wanted to give them some appreciation instead. Why do I like Dual Universe:
I love building stuff I love engineering stuff even more I think that the flying model in game is great I'm an active PvP player and I really appreciate all the changes done in the game to make PvP meaningful (that's actualy the reason why I got back to it) Vast space, different planets and space travel are really fun at the game I like the crafting mechanics and blueprints systems I like the elaborated organization systems and gameplay that emerges from them Although I see there are tons of bugs in the game I see that it is slowly getting more stable
Lately I managed to bring back to the game three of my friends and I'm actively working on more. Good job NQ keep working on my favourite space game

Ps. Yes I do see the problems that this game has but I also know that Dual Universe is a great place to spend time in.

I really like the building side of DU and with the voxel editor getting put in I really feel this part of the game is a job well done.

I actually enjoy the industry side of the game in a casual sense (not rebuilding a full factory for the 5th time ?). I just really wish that some schematics was found in other places rather than market. Big game play driver being missed here.

Im a pvp focused player but won’t comment on pvp right now because there is much more coming and needs to be done ?

exploration can be fun seeing what everyone has created but a tad more incentive work is needed I feel.

    Podstaw gry w Dual Universe
    Budowania dobrych statków kosmicznych
Voxelmancji (budowanie ładnych kształtów z honeycomba)
    Walki w PvP
    Skryptowania w Lua
Zarabiania dobrej quanty bez nudnego grindu
    Co robimy
    Asteroid mining
To naprawdę niezła zabawa.

ciągu mamy skille na poziomie 5 i obszerne know how którym chętnie się podzielimy.

    Kosmiczne piractwo
Stacja nasłuchowa nasłuchuje a statek szpiegowski szpieguje po trasach transportowych. Jeśli przechwycimy górnika albo pilota z misją transportową lecimy, atakujemy i zgarniamy towar (jeśli się uda). Czasem musimy walczyć o łup z innymi piratami.
    Przemysł
Przemysł jak to przemysł. Produkujemy towary i sprzedajemy je na rynku.
    Misje
Latamy też z misjami transportowymi. Mamy “alty” (alternative account) dzięki którym zarobek z pojedynczego kursu rośnie, oraz skrypty i przymierza które pomagają nam latać bezpieczniej.
    Skryptowanie Lua
Mamy niezłe zaplecze programistyczne które chętnie powiększymy o kolejnych inżynierów. Jeśli lubisz programować to chętnie wciągniemy cię do współpracy.

I think OP is not realizing a lot of the frustration and anger come from an appreciation and love for the game as well as a desire to see it succeed.

While all the points raised by OP can't really be argued, there is lot that he either does not care for or does not realize/see , which will/would impact what he likes about he game in the long run.

There certainly is a lot to like about DU and about some of it's traits, but for many, especially the apparent lack of attention for community input and/or engagement with the community drive much of the frustration. Most of the frustration is not with the game, it's with NQ

I agree with like 70% of your points, most of us love many things you posted, and it is why we also why you see so many players posting their "endless stream of complaints" when they see something that could actually cause this game to no longer be "a great place to spend time".  I am glad you are happy, doesn't negate that many players see huge red flags with changes that will cause major harm to all players.

Anyways, nice on you to say something nice, you can do that though without discounting legit concerns of others in the community. o7

    Dear Noveans,

Earlier this year, we announced that JC was transitioning to a new role as a board member and board advisor and that Nicolas Granatino, a long-standing backer of Novaquark via Andurance Venture, had been appointed chairman of the board.

We’re happy to share with you today that Nouredine Abboud has joined the company as CEO of Novaquark. Nouredine has more than 15 years of experience in the industry and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with an impressive catalog of work that includes Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon games.

As CEO, his primary focus is on the business side of things, so you probably won’t see him participating on the forums much. As we reach the final stretch leading to the launch of the game, the team already in place will continue to work on improving Dual Universe with NQ-Kyrios continuing his work as creative director.

We can’t wait to share with you the exciting things that are cooking for the game and for the company in 2022. Stay tuned!

Welcome thread is here if you'd like to say hello to Nouredine.

If they are supplying both the protection and the mining ship for the newb to use, I don't see how they have anything to gain by partnering up with pirates.

Or put in other words, the newb will be protected from loss and most likely end up have a good time regardless of if pirates attack or not.

I think DU did attract 2 different groups with the beta (payed alpha): landmark players and EVE players. Maybe more, but I am in the later group and it took a while for me to understand the "landmark" group.

Form what I have seen for the "landmark" players their focus is building only. It doesn't matter if something they have build serves any purpose. They like the building part itself and don't need any further gameplay loops. That is why an easy industry is nice for them because it gives an additional subtask to do which is easy enough to not take too much time from the building part.

For EVE players (as myself)  the gameloop is simply not finished with the building because we are used to having a goal after that (PvP).

The "landmark players" are really good for advertising the game. "Look at all these cool player build constructs!". Which is why DU tried to be really nice to them.
However for a lot of gamers only building stuff gets boring fast.

So they have to keep a balance between these groups. And since they tried really hard to attract the landmark group they made the game uninteresting for EVE players. And now it is difficult to get the EVE players back because every step in that direction will be criticized by the current "landmark" playerbase that is left.

NQ install patch 0.23 >>> cryers claim for easy game >>> NQ remove 0.23 >>> game going easy >>> game going boring >>>> cryers leave boring game.....

Eve online dont listen cryers, this game is up since 20 years in hard mode, even safe zone is never safe....

people cry when they see the difficulty, but they are even happier after overcoming it.

you promised to make an eve online mixed with Minecraft in a newspaper that I read in France. 0.23 was consistent with this vision.

all being alive is a natural learning process. one does not become good at chess by playing against weaker than either.

you do not gain muscle by lifting a pencil, it takes heavy, difficulty to build yourself well.

a game that is too easy is a game without challenge, it is very boring.

NQ please, stop listening to people who cry to make it easier, they don't know that in reality they will like and be proud of them when they have overcome the obstacle.

you promised only Sanctuary would be safe, and we all know Sanctuary is a bad place to develop. But as you had promised that only Sanctuary would be safe zone forever, many of us settled there our first base ..... and when you declared a few months later that finally all the safe zone Alioth + madis + thades will remain safe, how many of us have found ourselves disgusted with our base on sanctuary which is a bad planet ... how many have left because of this radical change in policy.
You promised to make Dual Universe an engaging game, in the Eve online and minecraft styles. However Eve online is a hard core game, we are never completely safe in eve online. This is what you promised and it is this clientele that you have attracted with your marketing communications. AND by withdrawing 0.23 because of some mourning, you have betrayed your target hard core gamer clientele.
We are not sado mazo, we simply know that difficulty is a powerful engine of evolution. and when we succeed in overcoming obstacles we become stronger and proud of ourselves.
DUAL universe might be the game of the century, but not some super easy game that will end up annoying even those who cried.

    please 0.23 come back

    Hi @Kormolos
Just to clarify a few things:
It has never been promised that only Sanctuary will be safe.
Safe Zones have always been a topic since the Kickstarter, even before Sanctuary Moons were mentioned.

However it is true that currently the Safe Zone is much larger than what was mentioned in the original vision.

We're still in Beta though, and many things can change before the official release.
The PvP isn't in its final state either and there is lots of room for improvement.
It's also true we were inspired by EVE Online, but we also said we won't do an EVE Online 2.0

    @Hirnsausen
Personal attacks are forbidden by the forum rules.
As much as it is unacceptable to belittle/discriminate Non-PvP players, it's also unacceptable to insult PvP players.
You may not like PvP players and it's your right, but you need at least to keep a proper tone on the forum.
Calling some players "human trash" is absolutely not okay. So here is a second warning.

There is no use trying hard to get more players to join, before the game is in a stage that makes players not quit again..
Remember it is much harder to get someone to try again, once they have been put off the game. So aggressively pushing the game (releasing on steam etc). would only burn bridges at this stage.

Zychov reacted to Shaman in the removed radar nerf that would fix the non L-core PvP problem
I know NQ isn't going to listen to me, and i've said this a BILLION times already, but i'm going to say this anyway.

smaller core sizes need more perks. There is nothing stopping you from strapping a xs sized ship onto an L core, and getting all of the benefits from that core size. The only 'benefits' you get from smaller core sizes is a slower identification speed (negligible with skills) and a faster repair time (negligible with shields), which, to be frank, is terrible.

it didn't used to be so bad either.
before 0.23, radars had a nerf where they could only lock certain core sizes from certain ranges, (eg L radars were only able to lock xs cores from about 40km away), which is a perfect fix to this problem since it removes the issue of small ships being unable to get into the firing range of L cores before being shot at/ destroyed, as well as making the meta much more diverse as the best counter for xs cores would be other xs/s cores (think rock paper scissors, but with cores from xs→s→m→l→xs).
I mean seriously, WHY was this removed? imagine the metagame with something like this, its such a simple fix that would make pvp 10x more fun. my only guess is that NQ came up with this nerf when xs cores could still use L guns, which i guess is a fair fix at the time, but makes absolutely no sense if you remove the ability for those xs ships to use L guns in the first place.

my second alternate solution would be to give core sizes different max speeds, which i have seen many people request (including me) and IMO seems like a very good idea. it could finally give people the chance to escape/catch up with their enemies, with the downside of dealing less damage/ being weaker. if NQ cant/wont do the radar fix then I would be very happy with this change as well.

I've contacted the devs about this radar a month or so ago, but they never got back to me about what happened to my suggestion. thoughts?
