PTS starts with the live server database from a month ago.
If you started playing earlier than a month ago, you won't start from scratch.
The dev team may also give free resources when necessary, to test on a specific topic (more info in the official announcement below)

    @Filokwarq2
PTS is currently opened and should stay open until tomorrow.
This is however a first load test, so the duration may be short for the first time and it will reopen later.

    Best Regards,
    Nyzaltar.

Very important, give the players who join a full inventory with stuff. Not many will be able to afford the time to grind up to endgame content for pure testing purposes.

    Dear Noveans,

With the opening of the Public Test Server (PTS) available to all DU players come a few guidelines, if you want to give some feedback.
We wanted - for a long time - to give the opportunity to anyone among you to give your opinion on features before they hit the Live Server.
However, as the time window to give feedback on new features deployed on the PTS will be usually limited, it's important to get structured feedback to be taken into account by the Devs, in order to make possible changes before deploying the said features on the Live Server. Note: having a new or modified feature deployed on the PTS doesn't necessarily mean that the same will be deployed on the Live Server. Community feedback may change the Dev Team course of action.

In order to facilitate the follow-up of your feedback by the Dev Team, it's really important to talk about one topic/feature per forum thread.
Additionally it's highly advised to follow the template below when giving feedback on a specific topic/feature deployed on the PTS:

Naming clearly the feature / game mechanics involved. Your feedback on the deployed feature (what you like / what you don't like about it (in this case, please give an explanation why you don't like it)). What kind of improvement you would see for such feature.
If your feedback is about a bug report, please follow this template:

Subject: [BUG] <Issue name here> Current Version Number: <Can be seen when closing the client> Impact: <Game breaking / Crash / Corruption / Item/Data loss / Inconvenience / Cosmetic> Summary: <Short outline of the issue> Description: <Description of the issue> Reproduction: <Steps taken to make this bug happen>
Reminder: there will be no official support for the PTS.
This means you can report bugs you found/experienced on the PTS (preferably in this forum section).
It's encouraged to report bugs found on the PTS, to make sure they won't be replicated once the involved feature will be deployed on the Live Server.
However, do not send tickets to the Customer Support to fix issues you encountered on the PTS.
Why no support? The reason is quite simple: in their experimental state, things may be broken.
The Novaquark Team prefer to allocate 100% of the Customer Support resources to the Live Server, where the "real game" happens.

We hope you'll understand our stance on the matter.

    Best Regards,
    The Novaquark Team.

iNFiDeL reacted to NQ-Naunet in DevBlog: Organization Wallets
    Hey Noveans,

Joining an organization in Dual Universe has many advantages, especially when it comes to pooling and sharing resources. The introduction of org wallets in the upcoming 0.24 update will add a convenient way to transfer money to and from organizations, just as players have been requesting.

But wallets aren’t limited to organizations alone. Many of these features will be useful to individual players as well. This should be welcome news to everyone who will be raking in the quanta via the new Mission system.

Let’s take a closer look at all the wonderful things wallets can do.

    WALLETS 101

Each organization now has a wallet.

There are two new rights related to organization wallet management in the Right and Duty Management System (RDMS):

Consult wallet: Gives the right to members to simply know the current balance of the organization. Edit wallet: Gives the right to do all the wallet operations available to the organization wallet. It includes buying, selling (and paying taxes by doing so), browsing the log and transferring money (see below).

Giving the right to edit the wallet of Wave Corp to another player.

    HOW IT WORKS

Any player with the “edit from wallet” right of an organization can:
Sell unclaimed items or items claimed by the organization in the name of the org. Once sold, the money goes to the organization wallets. Buy items in the name of the organization. When doing so, the wallet of the org is used instead of the wallet of the player. Also, the item is then automatically claimed by the org when purchased. Edit and/or delete orders owned by the organization. NOTE: Going to the “My Orders” panel of the market UI, allows the player to see their own orders as well as the orders of all organizations for which they have the appropriate rights.
Payable dispensers owned by organizations will use the organization wallet, instead of the Superlegate wallet.

    TRANSFERING QUANTA

All players can give any amount of quanta to any other player or organization. Players with the necessary wallet rights of an organization can also transfer money from the organization wallet to any other entity. Transfers are tracked in the wallet logs of both the sender and the recipient.

There are a few rules regarding quanta transfer, mainly intended to protect players from griefing through spamming the recipient’s wallet log :
A transfer requires a minimum amount of 1,000 quanta. There is a cooldown period of 10 minutes between two transactions with both the same sender and the same recipient.

Transfering money to the organization Wave Corp.

    THE WALLET LOG

Managing an organization and giving the right for wallet operations to several players requires basic management functions. That is why we are adding the wallet log.
All entities (players and organizations) have access to a wallet log that reflects all transactions related to their wallets.

Each entry contains the date of the operation, the type of operation (such as money transfer, market transaction, various fees, etc.), and additional information, such as the name of the player who completed the operation, for instance.

                The wallet log.

    SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS!

What do you think of the plans so far? Is this a good starting point or are there additional functions you think wallets will need? We look forward to reading your feedback in this forum thread. ?

Wasn't being toxic, that guy came into a completely un related post to talk crap to me cause he didn't like that I called him and anyone else crying for a wipe a cry baby and stop being a scrub. if anything the only ones being toxic here are you and him. I'm pointing out a very real soon to be issue for the player base and I agree more immersive options should appear but is a planet with only enough of a resource for 10k players to drain really grounded in reality? There should have been more there from the beginning. The mistake isn't in having limited resources, its in making it possible for someone to drain them before you can properly introduce more into the environment. We have lived on this planet for thousands and thousands of years and yet we still haven't gotten even close to removing every bit of any resource off the planet, We  just drained a planet in 6 months though in DU. What about after too, so when the gold and ilmenite are gone then what? Lacobus becomes a wasteland barely worth anything and still taking up hard drive storage and developers time to optimize and maintain. Its all cool in theory but its going to back fire if some measures to keep this from happening in the future isn't introduced. Before you know it we will have an entire solar system of planets drained of their valuable resources within months. Wipe hype guys of course will say this why we should wipe, but that doesn't do anything besides push the problem back further because it will just happen again. Maybe faster maybe slower but you shouldn't be able to make a planet useless in months. Years maybe but not months and not with 10k players, almost all of which aren't farming the planet.

Without going into details, other than I scan a lot for Cobaltite, I also wish that the spawns would be increased just a tad.  I know they shouldn't be as abundant as T1 / T2, not saying that, but they need a boost.  It's not sustainable long term without a reseed at one point.  Unless of course space mining ends up providing way more opportunity....

Wipe and you'll lose most your base fans. Yeah maybe the 15 guys from Alpha will stay but the people who were actually interested in checking this game out from say an advertisement or word of mouth wont bother. No he didn't expressly say there wouldn't be a wipe but JC made it very clear he has no intention to wipe unless it is absolutely necessary and that's why I and many others are still here. I've spent the better part of a month and a half building a community ship museum to show case designs and if its gone I'm going to flip tf out. I for one didn't come here to play a wipe I have well over a thousand hours into this and if you take away what I've built then I'm out. If they wipe I better keep my skills, my quanta, magic bps of EVERYTHING I own or its deuces and I will do my absolute best to ward off anyone remotely interested in this game cause this "beta" has already been ridiculous enough.

Yes schematics were a set back, but they are here and we are still playing it, keep playing around with stuff at that kind of level, i.e. wipe, and you won't have players to even consider discussing the subject of a wipe. All you cry babies whining we need a wipe because of such and such has too much quanta, stfu if they wipe and its doesn't completely destroy the population, those same guys are going to flock to any exploit they possibly can to get an advantage and will be billionaires within a month or 2 anyways. Any game that is this open world will have exploits there's no way around it and the only reason you are crying wipe is because you are a scrub. Just git gud. The people not crying wipe are the ones trying to build things in game that will be there for ever like the different monuments, libraries, super space stations, race tracks etc take away their time and effort and you take away your real player base, the ones that can get over the little hiccups because they no at least their sh*t will be there tomorrow.

iNFiDeL reacted to blazemonger in So, when is the game getting rolled back?
If you want to classify the cash shop where you buy skins, DAC and STU as MTX then that has always been planned. In fact, I feel that NQ is missing out on a major revenue stream by not having the cash shop in place already. If they would offer nice skins for elements which allow players to more diversify their build I am pretty sure they'd make a good bit of money from that and that to me would seem absolutely fine as it add nothing with regards to ability or performance but will greatly enhance the way the game looks.

NQ would need to actually design real unique skins through and not just recolor the existing ones. I could also see them offer a "High quality skin pack" with high detail versions of the current skins for existing elements. As I'd expect these may impact performance they could offer it as an extra for those with hardware able to handle it. Again, no impact on how ships handle, just looks.

I really do not understand why NQ has not opened up this revenue stream yet..

So, recently NQ decided to move the "Idea Box" forum in the "beta" section here to the very bottom, requiring you to scroll quite a way down to get to it. It's basically been moved well out of sight.

I guess NQ does not just choose to ignore these ideas, they now decided it was time to actually try and shove the option into a corner where it's not so obvious it's there and you need to actually do work to get there..

EDIT: Good to see NQ listened here and move the forum back up.. so never mind

They don't have to wipe at all.
Just create a new solar system with a new economy (and currency and ores, etc) where players can go to through stargates (or wormholes kinda things). When traveling through stargates you can not tak ephysical stuff with you (just an idea). Players then can choose where they want to 'live' or play the game :).

you basically have unlimited options in a new solar system (exactly the same as with a reset) without anybody has to loose a thing (if you choose to because you can always stay behind).

If they wiped out all my hard work in mining and  construction, I would first go ballistic then give up completely. Once trust is broken like that it can never be regained.

The existing player base would move on to try other games, perhaps Star Citizen or Elite Dangerous, or No Man's Sky has matured a bit since I last tried them.

Any new players just won't have the same vision to build the amazing building cities, spaceports and giant ships.  New players would be entering a barren landscape and the vision would never take hold the same way it did for the early players.

Even magic blueprints would require a lot of work to put everything back together. No, any fairness to right the wrongs will have to be done moving forward. There is no going back.

I think NQ should do what they said.

If they do a wipe, it should come with refunded playtime -- it's a massive bait-and-switch otherwise. You can't promise one thing to get people to open their wallets, then decide that actually that was a lie so sorry.

Attracting players is not the most important thing for an MMO! Going free to play would "attract new players".

The key is actually retaining those players.

A reset doesn't fix anything...it literally just puts the game back to where it was at beta launch. For what reason?

A few months later, people will still be like "well I'd play...but I don't want to be behind". Actually no...you wouldn't play. You'd build a speeder, get bored, and leave like many others.

No one is entering DU and leaving because they feel like they can't catch up on talents...there's a billion and one other reasons they are leaving that need to get fixed first.
