NQ install patch 0.23 >>> cryers claim for easy game >>> NQ remove 0.23 >>> game going easy >>> game going boring >>>> cryers leave boring game.....

 

Eve online dont listen cryers, this game is up since 20 years in hard mode, even safe zone is never safe....

 

people cry when they see the difficulty, but they are even happier after overcoming it.

 

you promised to make an eve online mixed with Minecraft in a newspaper that I read in France. 0.23 was consistent with this vision.

 

all being alive is a natural learning process. one does not become good at chess by playing against weaker than either.

 

you do not gain muscle by lifting a pencil, it takes heavy, difficulty to build yourself well.

 

a game that is too easy is a game without challenge, it is very boring.

 

NQ please, stop listening to people who cry to make it easier, they don't know that in reality they will like and be proud of them when they have overcome the obstacle.

 

you promised only Sanctuary would be safe, and we all know Sanctuary is a bad place to develop. But as you had promised that only Sanctuary would be safe zone forever, many of us settled there our first base ..... and when you declared a few months later that finally all the safe zone Alioth + madis + thades will remain safe, how many of us have found ourselves disgusted with our base on sanctuary which is a bad planet ... how many have left because of this radical change in policy.

You promised to make Dual Universe an engaging game, in the Eve online and minecraft styles. However Eve online is a hard core game, we are never completely safe in eve online. This is what you promised and it is this clientele that you have attracted with your marketing communications. AND by withdrawing 0.23 because of some mourning, you have betrayed your target hard core gamer clientele.

We are not sado mazo, we simply know that difficulty is a powerful engine of evolution. and when we succeed in overcoming obstacles we become stronger and proud of ourselves.

DUAL universe might be the game of the century, but not some super easy game that will end up annoying even those who cried.

I think DU did attract 2 different groups with the beta (payed alpha): landmark players and EVE players. Maybe more, but I am in the later group and it took a while for me to understand the "landmark" group.

 

Form what I have seen for the "landmark" players their focus is building only. It doesn't matter if something they have build serves any purpose. They like the building part itself and don't need any further gameplay loops. That is why an easy industry is nice for them because it gives an additional subtask to do which is easy enough to not take too much time from the building part.

 

For EVE players (as myself)  the gameloop is simply not finished with the building because we are used to having a goal after that (PvP).

 

The "landmark players" are really good for advertising the game. "Look at all these cool player build constructs!". Which is why DU tried to be really nice to them.

However for a lot of gamers only building stuff gets boring fast.

 

So they have to keep a balance between these groups. And since they tried really hard to attract the landmark group they made the game uninteresting for EVE players. And now it is difficult to get the EVE players back because every step in that direction will be criticized by the current "landmark" playerbase that is left.

There are more than just these 2 types of players, because there are still many players who have a mixture of interests and do not just stubbornly follow one direction.
DualUniverse is not Eve online - fortunately. The game is so uninteresting and full of multi-accounts and aggressive players...no, I just had a look and quickly left again.
The main focus in DualUniverse is the build-up, i.e. the landmark players, and the last changes and patches were added in favour of the small PvP group. I understand that this didn't really make PvPers happy, because it wasn't good PvP that was implemented, but half-hearted content. However, the standard PvPer has also ruined the game for itself, because almost all players have joined a group and now there are no PvPers to fight with. So it would be more interesting if the PvP group would split up and fight each other so they can enjoy their content.
I think for PvPers StarCitizen or Starbase would be a more interesting game. The focus there is also much more on shooting and shooting around.

the problem is i come to DU BECAUSE NQ say "we will do a new EVE ONLINE AND MINECRAFT. so that mean DU will be a hard core game as eve online. i come to DU for this reason. 

 

if NQ had say we will do a god mod WOW and Minecraft, i will never come in this game.

 

they attracted player Eve online, now they need to respect the promess

Eve is hardcore game???

Did you even play eve?

I play eve for over 5 years and there is nothing hardcore about eve.

In eve i have counter for nearly everything and i have incredible amount of tools to deal with various situations.

 

I can make a few page article on how very wrong you are but i will just try to pinpoint most important few points.

1. 99% of ships that die cost between 5 to 120 minutes of grind

2. Even when you die you have insurance, srp from alliance and/or  corporation which often result on getting between 80%-120% worth of the ship.

3. You never get the destroyed ship, there is 50% chance that every item or loot will be destroyed so you never get 100% loot.(except for occasional pvp event like Halloween)

4. Every area can be safe it only comes down to how well you are prepared.

I multiple times moved my caps through hostile regions, wormholes and ls because we have tools like local, dscan, cloak, scout, zkill, intel channels and other scout websites.

5. Very often you can escape even if you are caught/ detected/ attacked.
6. We have stations/citadels in almost every system including wormholes so we always have a place to run to from enemy and filaments to teleport yourself out from any place.
7. Radars in are eve over 14.3 AU(not SU) while you can warp disrupt the target from 20km( 90km in specialised ship for disrupting), while in DU you have the same detection and shooting(warp disrupt) range.

 

In my opinion Du is hardcore pvp right know bcs you have 100% loot, you even get the ship and game is so raw you have no way to counter pvp.

Pvp at this moment is 100% made for pirates with absolute no regards toward victims.

There is not a single tool to combat, escape, detect the enemy.

Once you step out of safe zone It's just constant Russian roulette every 2 su. 


I do not understand what is your objective with that?
I'm the Eve player. I never played landmark and 99% of things i do were pvp or pve but i can't do either of those in DU because i do not have large factories that produce rare engines or agg m which sells at marking 300% production cost so i can't afford 300m ships for pvp.
It took me weeks to mine ore necessary to buy bp and elements for the ships.
So it's like going into solo pvp with capitals or titans which by the way nobody does.
Kormolos what you suggest have absolute no sense.

People, me including are crying because we are literally toddlers with no way to defend our self and that's a issue.
Devs keep repeating only one thing, don't go to pvp zone.
You can't expect people to deal with it, it's just utterly bad design.

You are just "pro" player in eve, know how to survive. And don't know how to survive in this game.

There are right now only few reasons to leave safe zone:
1)  missions
You need to be sure than no one follows you when you are leaving safe zone, and you should not fly directly to destination point. With this two rules it's impossible to kill you

2) asteroids
There are asteroids in safe zone. Asteroids in pvp zone are risky, but you have chances to escape.


And about cost of modules. Most of modules selling on market cheaper than their production cost

I do not consider myself a pro player.
Almost every person that plays the game for 5 years knows this.

I know how DU mechanics works and what you can do to minimise the danger, but as i said there are no ways to counter or prepare yourself for enemy.

I'm not talking about reasons to leave safe zone as everyone know's the reasons...

1) Not a single person with experience or knowledge fly through the pipe mr Einstein.
In case you don't know Legion have stations around mission planets with scanners and script that save location and pinpoint potential targets. The only thing you can do is fly away from the pipe and then align to planet or spot around the destination of planet, but legion and other pirates are aware of it and they also patrol zones around from the pipe, it's just a matter of luck wether you encounter them or not.

2) Asteroids in safe zone provide much smaller nodes than alioth which means they are absolute trash and no1 with brain have any incentive of doing them.

About modules price. What are modules?
First of all if you are referring to the elements, then most of basic elements are cheaper. Go to uncommon or advanced and military elements are almost always sold with margin around 5-50% depends on moment.
Rare counterparts are almost always sold with at least 100% margin, and xl and agg m are providing with 100-300% margin comparing to production cost.
I'm monitoring the situations for most of engines since last month, both production cost with lv 5 talents and ores prices so spare me your imagined prices of few elements.

How long do you even play this game?
The way you refer to game elements and mechanics clearly says your new to the game.

None of us normal players like Legion. Legion is where all he thrash of he society has come together, similar to what we see  what human thrash builds up around a certain orange-haired wanna-be dictator of one of the big countries here on Earth. Just the bottom of the society.

There is a Russian PVP org that prepares a big srike against Legion in the coming two weeks, and I hope that they will be successful to wipe out the Legion thrash.

Legion itself confirmed they have scripts which pinpoint your location.
Which scripts they use i don't know and i don't care. It matters little to the fact that they dominate roids.

Then why every time my org members die, attackers had a name legion?

And why we can't do a thing about them?

Perhaps that's why people cry?
I can't afford ships to fight them, and i don't have talents or production to do it.
Also wouldn't complain if we had an actual content in the game but asteroids are viable only in pvp zone.

You band together to bully others bcs alone you were a ****.
You banded together to have as much safety in numbers and ability to bully defenceless people.
And now you get upset that people got mad because legion keep bulling soo many people without repercussions.
Of course some people kill you but i'm not one of them, i'm rather new to the game so i don't have industry backbone to back me up or characters to boost weapons.
Beside isn't that the legion whinnies that whine to NQ that pvp sucks bcs ppl just warp away?
And later ohh but ppl just warp when they see us so nq introduced long freaking timers to prevent any ability to escape?

@Draqolas I would just like you to sit down and explain the evidence you have on Legion abuse. (and by evidence, I mean not a random screen of a radar screen x'D)
 

I can assure you that 3/4 of our kills are simply due to the fact that people make mistakes or have a lack of experience in PVP, the rest is only time that we invest in the game, in camping or checking roids. PVP zone isn't supposed to be an area where people love each other and don't shoot each other, you need pirates, you need risk and right now PVP costs more to pirates than to victims, so why are you complaining?
 

Sneaky Snake does not only attack Legion, he also attacks all the haulers possible (check his video >.>) and this from the beginning of the game, thinking that without Legion the PVP will be easier and that your friends will not be killed is an utopia. (On his video against the Legion Argosy, they all have the Legion tag, they use it to make you believe it's us and you follow them like sheep without trying to understand the troll)
 

At Legion we have not increased our number of org since the start of the beta, by leaving AC we even reduced our number a lot (imagine if we still be allied with IC / ZC / STC / DSI  ...), our goal is not to be the only power, we just want to do some good PVP fight and therefore, we leave the possibility to the players to fight our "supremacy" by allying themselves and easily exceeding our number.
 

You can say whatever you want, Legion is a necessary threat, if one day we disappear after your attempts to make this game boring and irrelevant, you will realize your mistake but no one will come to dry your tears.

Yes i'm sure so many pilots went to asteroids for pvp(and not ore) and just by coincidence they forgot to put their guns.
And of course merciless Legion decided to liberate us of our pvp (non gunned ships), because we lack skills and experience in pvp.
And it has nothing to do with the fact that pvp is just bad and boring and there is very few people actually interested in pvp apart from grievers.

Let me tell you story of 90% of players which you absolutely don't get because of your limited mindset or absolute ignorance.
There are good pvp games out there and those interested in pvp, go to the game where you can showcase your skill and not the depth of your purse, be it IG or real life wallet.
And DU is not one of them as it lack fundamental mechanic to provide meaningful and demanding pvp.
Vast majority of players come to DU because of *caugh caugh* suprise! it's a building game with ability to build almost any ship or building.
Entire game is build around voxels and NQ decided to add incredibly boring mechanic of procuring ores.
Then they added pvp which works like some very sloppy iterations of eve online without consideration and knowledge how it actually works.

And i can assure you most players don't give a crap about the pvp in this game because it suck terribly in the first place.
But then we have people like you or bored people and those who can't do a competitive pvp so they pretend they are good at pvp and just grieve on non-pvp players in games like DU.
If you think, skill have anything to do in DU version of pvp you are very very very sad and misguided soul.
Yes it require skill, but only in matter of how to operate the mechanic, there is no reward for doing it better or any way intelligent way.
it's just lock and shoot and occasional reload. Enemy have no way to escape you, no way to detect you, no way of fighting you.
The whole idea is just boring and i'm surprised that legion players actually still do it which clearly indicate you are not here for pvp, you are here to grieve people, put the salt into the would and brag about your incredibly sophisticated kills.


Truth is almost no1 is interested in PVP and most of people just don't want to even deal with it.
Yes we can band together and fight you, but there is no incentive towards it.
It's building game not pvp game, there is no reward for us for killing you.
You will just get a new ship and come again. 
This is why we complain because we just don't want it, and we don't want to fight you bcs it's boring.
Even if i kill you what will it give me? Some broken elements and empty cargo?
15 minutes later there will be another legion ship and i will just waste my life on meaningless and boring activity of killing one mosquito.

Yes, DU lacks basic PVP mechanics, fun gameplay, emergent properties and meaningful PVP. No issue here.

And yes, many ppl come here for the building stuff - which btw they can enjoy to full extent without EVER participating in PVP

Sure they don't care - because it's crap. IF it wouldn't suck as hard, more ppl would enjoy it. Maybe that will come with planetary PVP / AVA / CVA....who knows if NQ can make it fun.

Again, there is nothing like griefing on non-pvpers in DU. As soon as anyone enters the PVP zone, they accept PVP. They deliberatly go there, knowing that PVP might happen.

 

PVP IS boring and in a pretty bad shape atm (again, no issues here) and NQ doesn't seem to acknowledge that. Very good, engaging and fun mechanics were proposed for years, only to be ignored by NQ. PVP needs good mechanics like detection, stealth, signatures and so on so ppl can hide their ship from others in some way or the other and pirates need specialized ships and crew to counter that too. Take eve: there are ships which can't be seen on dscan, are stealthy all together or can jump with a micro jump drive. Everything can be countered, but you need another special ship to do so which makes it more fun for everyone.

true - because it's in a bad shape. Would there be fun mechanics, it wouldn't suck as much and more ppl would engage in it.

Incentives are lacking in DU - there is no power management, no territory warfare, no use in holding any territory or space - NQ does need to tackle those problems or this game will die out of boredom

no, it's a game with 6 pillars. building is one of them. as is PVP

Then don't go to the pvp zone if you don't want to fight - there is a huge safezone for you to mine and build there. But for many ppl, just building shiny things which server NO PURPOSE AT ALL is pretty boring, bad gameplay and utterly useless. Wow, you've built the 50th base. Yawn. All rooms in every base are useless, they don't serve any function whatsoever (except storage, landing pads and industry).

Do I understand you to be happy about one aggressive player group taking the throne from another aggressive player group? What exactly will be the advantage for the normal players who belong neither to the Legion nor to the Russians? It's just an exchange of a position of power.

Some kills are also just luck because the warp bug showed up, otherwise some ships would have escaped, since you normally can't warp after a victim with the PvP timer.
So you should be fair enough to let the unarmed opponent escape if he cannot be stopped legally, but only by bugs. I have nothing against PvP - that's what the PvP zone is for, but then please fair PvP without exploiting bugs that are obvious.

Just to clarify a few things:
It has never been promised that only Sanctuary will be safe.
Safe Zones have always been a topic since the Kickstarter, even before Sanctuary Moons were mentioned.

 

However it is true that currently the Safe Zone is much larger than what was mentioned in the original vision.

 

We're still in Beta though, and many things can change before the official release.
The PvP isn't in its final state either and there is lots of room for improvement.
It's also true we were inspired by EVE Online, but we also said we won't do an EVE Online 2.0

Personal attacks are forbidden by the forum rules.
As much as it is unacceptable to belittle/discriminate Non-PvP players, it's also unacceptable to insult PvP players.
You may not like PvP players and it's your right, but you need at least to keep a proper tone on the forum.
Calling some players "human trash" is absolutely not okay. So here is a second warning.

Thank you. The current safe zone is great in terms of size and in relation to the PvP zone. So you have the freedom to play the game the way you like it. I really hope that nothing will be changed about the current size. 
At this point, however, I would ask that as soon as the universe is expanded with more solar systems, there will also be more safe zones. I would be very much in favour of finding "hidden" safe zones throughout the universe, sometimes a lunar area or a planet or simply a larger area in space to set up a distant space base. "Hidden" because these are not displayed on the map, but players can fly through PvP space by chance and discover such "islands of safety".

Actually I ❤️Legion! They are the only reason I still play DU and even manage to recruit back some old players. We do asteroids run and hope for some touble cause it's fun. Without Legion there would be no enemy to fight with or run from.
