Hello all, i present to you a simple to use and very helpful spreadsheet for calculating the ore cost and/or quanta cost of a end item

    Here is the sheet:
**WARNING** DO NOT USE THE EXCEL VERSION, THE SHEET BREAKS IN EXCEL, apologies for that
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WtWuuS-21QN9x51zAZXCrClxw79d5fMzVnTHavmsPZ0/edit?usp=sharing

    Features:
-allow user to input base ore cost, ore quanta price, skills, and percentage of product used for intermediate parts -automatically takes all values above entered and calculates them into the final cost in quanta -works for t1-5 and has t1-5 pure, product and intermediate part skills selectable -shows individual ore tier cost
    Instructions:
-make a copy (file > make a copy)
-input ore values manually or copy/paste them in (click paste > values only after you paste them in so the formatting doesn't get screwed)
-to calculate the part percentage, take the amount of base not used for intermediate parts and subtract that from the total ore cost of that particular ore, then divide that number by the total ore cost of that particular ore, do not use the percentage(%) symbol when entering in the percentage, you should always use decimals (e.g 0.33 for 33%)
-if you need help modifying the sheet to your needs, let me know i will try my best to help!

Possible features: -time cost -others as they cross my mind   thanks for your interest   -ELX987

I'd agree with your post in general but do think that, provided NQ makes beacons more accessible, it is not at all a bad thought to limit warp destinations to beacons, at least as a first/general option.

It drives player innovation, may create a network of (public) beacons which servers players of all sorts and styles and as such may well be able to stay alive without much effort or be a good source for conflict/combat (could IMO really be either depending on the situation)

for once i have to say that a thread is driving away from real problems, this is a prime example and here is why this thread irritates me:

    1. warp is fine, is semi balanced, and is a working system as well as an essential one. there is no point to nerfing/buffing the mechanics of warp, period.

    2. warp cell costs are not in any way unbalanced and also create a nice sink for the economy, besides no one really warps heavy haulers around unless they get caught, which is a reward for being smart about your hauling.

    3. removing the ability to warp withought a player beacon would kill gameplay for many people, as well as make things unnecessarily difficult.

its hypocritical that the community pushes for NQ to reverse the scehmatics, which were not needed at all, and then asking for stuff like this.
let NQ just fix the exploit that is an issue, and let it be, warp is fine and there is no need to create problems that didnt exist.

I am the leader of Havoc one of the Boo orgs that was there. When you venture into the pvp zone you consent to get your boat violenced. Without any form of conflict drivers to create opportunities for PVP we have to take what we can get. So you can be sure that if there is an event that PVP will happen PVP'rs are likely to turn up. Don't hate the player , hate the game. You non pvp players can engage in your dollhouse building endlessly  us pvp'rs have no gameplay loops to service our desires. About the only thing we can do is camp a pipe and hope to catch a ship but that is ganking not fighting and pretty boring (its more fun when they shoot back). The only other alternative is to come up with cringy roleplay reasons for pre-arranged fights.  There are no resources to fight over no territory to take or defend in conquest.  Hell we have no means of interdiction or tackle once we do find something to shoot.  We are holding on out of shear will in hopes of the potential that the game has. So tl ; dr if you don't wanna pvp don't come to the pvp zone.  For the record this is what NQ had to say about the matter:

I love EvE, played it for 10 years.  And I do have a lot of problems with some of the decisions that CCP has made in the past.  But it would be stupid of NQ not to take note of some of the things that work well for a "single shard Universe".

Oh, I do not doubt it. Does not do anything to discard that anyone thinking or saying that does not get that this has nothing to do with EVE actually, it has to do with how a live service game developer IMO should deal with exploits. But you know that and I know that you know that I know that you know so we're good ..

    True.. very true

I absolutely am in a love-hate relationship with DU right now. EVE, I log into now and then.. look around and log back out.. I hope to get back to DU again but do not see me getting back into EVE..

Dealing with exploits 101 .. NQPlease take notes here..

Exploit Notification – Abyssal Siege Module | EVE Online

    1. Clearly state you know
    2. Clearly declare an exploit
    3. Clearly instruct to not use the exploit
    4. Clearly suggest pre-emptive owning up to using the exploit to soften/prevent punitive action being taken

CCP posts such notes on forums and Twitter as their main two communication channels they are rather clear about expecting players to follow to be aware of announcements like this

The keywords here being _clear_ and _communication_

Now I _know_ CCP has data that shows them everything that happens in detail, upto when a player presses a button so they know precisely who uses the exploit and when. I do not expect NQ to have such deep telemetry (yet) but they will need to get there eventually.

Hello and thank you for this information.

DU must not have a pb on my side knowing that I have other characters that connect very well, without pb.
On the other hand, I have the same concerns with saving the game and even on another PC than mine.
I was thinking of the corruption of the file located at NQ.

I can agree with you on a few things here.

Yes, BOO with respect to DU has a serious activity issue because when 0.23 came along we made the choice to spread out into other games to maintain the BOO community since DU was in serious depression (in more ways than one).

Now our solution has in turn become both a blessing and a curse. Because some games that our members have trickled into have vested interests (in terms of time and money... that could've went to NQ). So returning to DU, even if it makes a comeback, will be a tough choice in where they spend their time.

The current mechanics that exist in the game:
do not cater to Exploration in any form Are poor from a PVP perspective Are bugged to high hell which further pisses people off at times Are incredibly imbalanced Are too restrictive in ways it shouldn't be BOO at large has not rejoined DU in massive numbers but we're watching and waiting for NQ to put up a legitimate release that makes PvP worth engaging in and makes the game actually fun.
Not some release that makes the game feel more like work and less enjoyable.

The Event did help to bring some of us back into the game... but it may be brief... who knows. Really... deep down... we're happy that the community gave us something to destroy. However, the frequency of these types of events are not enough to keep us glued to DU for longer than a week.

As other members have said, the MAIN thing we care about is PVP. To expect anything else from us would be foolish. If PVP in one game is shit then we'll leave and find PVP elsewhere.

AC failed their mission. BOO accomplished their mission. PVP zone exists. Pirates exist. Complaining about it while knowing the rules of the game is basically like inviting negative comments you don’t want to hear. You’re just giving the moderators more work to do.

too minor to be mentioned, see post above. You are 100% right, but I dont want to add too much purely cosmetic stuff.
will check, lets stop talking about it here for obvious reasons.
    will add, tested

to be expected, even large factories dont work
    will add, unable to test

to be expected, as the game re-checks where you are. It is a tech restriction, not a bug. I sound like an ass, sorry.

Correct, tested, confirmed, but again, I dont want to list exploits, lets not talk about it.

so far it always worked after some amount of time and relogs, even when just "refresh construct rights" didnt initially did it.

is that only for "share with nearby player"?

never seen talk about it, unaware of it being intended. guess they dont want to do it, as it would allow for free teleporting

    a statement from our leader:
"Hello everyone, Sylva, leader of Band Of Outlaws here.

This thread, the official DU discord and the Memeserver have all gotten a lot of traffic and I thought I would drop by and leave some of my thoughts here for you all. I acknowledge and understand that the Star Wars fans who created the event feel that we, BOO and some of our allies, when crashing their event yesterday, "ruined it." And yes, Skilo has it right when he says that we did it because we could. Those of you who are arguing against the Star Wars IP being in the game... well, tbh, I love Star Wars, it has inspired more than one generation of space dreamers, and hopefully, many more to come. That having been said, there is more to this story (and hopefully, for the story of Dual Universe).

We originally had someone sign up for the Star Wars event who was building a legit PvP meta Star Wars ship. At the time, I was advised that we were also giving info to the Star Wars group on how to build PvP meta ships, and that advice was generally not followed/heeded. As the date loomed closer it became apparent that the ship, according to our standards, was only about 10% complete, and so our member withdrew from the Star Wars event.

We then heard that ATOM was being paid to provide security for the event, and that was when we decided to party crash it.

The thing is, when you look at what Dual Universe intends to be, a civilization building game - there should, in my opinion, player made safe zones in which events like this could be held in. This is an event that you would hold in the heart of an area that has an enforced edge of space, so pirate incursions would be few and far between (and not be without repercussions). We very much support this. We expect to be hunted down because of our actions. We will be disappointed if we aren't.

We already don't hunt the small fries. We already do not pursue freighters and small ships. We have historically only hunted the larger org tagged ships. Our groups already PvP against each other. We haven't done a PvP event since the End of the World event in December. Since then we have only had solos and small groups go out for PvP, which has still been few and far between. Mostly we have been doing the same as everyone else, recovering from the .23 patch, mining, industry, and building more ships. We got bored. We crashed the party and ruined a lot of hard work, and for what? Some laughs... and hoping to fight some ATOM and some hopefully buffed Star Wars capital ships.

As to the idea of waiting for DU to grow more... you may very well get what you request. BOO has diversified our gaming interests. We are playing Valheim, Starbase, and Last Oasis in addition to Dual Universe now. Don't worry though, we're still around and will still be active in Dual Universe. We will sporadically come out and throw down. So try to be prepared for us. Build meta ships. Bring your friends. You don't know when we will strike.

Prepare for the changes that are coming. " - Sylva, on page 5 of this thread

Yeap. We cancelled the event due to lack of people wanting to go to that event. Shit happens. Also, it was on a Friday during a work day for NA. Can't have everything.
LOL. Yeap, you got us. Our people only want to mine enough to PvP once in a while. I honestly can't blame them. We're mostly PvPers and a majority of us don't enjoy the rest of the 'game' enough to 'play' mining simulator 3,000 just to chase haulers that delete their cargo when they come under fire, or warp away. Not really our idea of engaging game play. So we play other games, we play DU when we feel like doing the things that DU has to offer, and PvP every once in a while.
    "Oh Noes! BOO is DYING!"
    Sure thing.

I already stated that if the AC had brought their A Game, then BOO would have been in trouble. We were just looking for cheap thrills and memes. And here we are.

Also, don't worry, we're still here. Seriously. We're just waiting for the game to actually get good.
You guys play your way. We'll play ours.

What about events etc that don't want to be disturbed? Do it in safe zones or maybe there's room for DU to create a third type of zone, where people can willingly PvP (or choose not to). But that's for another forum. Right here right now BOO will look for good fights wherever and whenever BOO believes good fights can happen.

Oh yes. I can confirm it. I'll say it again for those in the back: BOO upper management decided to party crash when we heard that ATOM was being paid to field security for the event. The difference in wording you see can be summed up succinctly: Know thy audience. What you see are propaganda as much as anyone else's event listings.

Hate us if you want to - that's your prerogative. We certainly don't expect anything less once there's full PvP available.
