Zarcata reacted to Dakanmer in Extra Large elements needed
I know I'm far from the only person to suggest this in the last few months or few years. I know NQ has heard it many times. We need larger flight elements. We have XL space engines, and we have tiered atmo/space engines and hovers/vboosters, which is great. We don't have XL atmo engines. We don't have XL atmo brakes or retros or adjustors, nor do we have tiered brakes/adjustors.

    We need:
XL atmospheric engines XL atmospheric brakes XL retro-rocket brakes XL adjustors XL hover engines XL vertical boosters Military/safe variants of atmo/space brakes and adjustors L and XL wings L and XL ailerons
It is beyond ridiculous how many L brakes and adjusters have to be loaded down on a ship to make it flyable. Even simple and lightweight designs can require a ridiculous number of each, making designers have to find ways to hide them under voxels so that the designs don't look like something a Warhammer orc would throw together. But looks aren't the only problem. It's also the element count. When you need hundreds of flight elements to fly a ship, the lag generated by those elements can get pretty intense, and that's not even looking at scripts that get info from/about them for display or use. When you need hundreds of flight elements to make a ship capable of flight that the achievements call for (100k m^3 of material, fly 1kt in atmo, haul 10kt in space at max speed), or even for normal high-capacity hauling, you stop caring about making a ship that looks good (they're already constrained to the volume of a square, rather than having the option to have a longer/wider/shorter build volume) and focus only on making sure you've got enough brakes, adjustors and engines.

These demands for bigger flight elements have been made over and over by many people for the past several years. It would be great if @NQ would actually listen and take action on an issue that is this old. Ships requiring >100 L atmo brakes and >100 L space brakes and >10 XL space engines and >10 L atmo engines and >50-100 adjustors are butt-ugly lagmonsters, but people make them because they need/want what they can do.

    Hi, Danny_UK!

Thanks for letting us know about this. What you described is not considered an exploit.
This is a trade-off for an immediate chunk of ore that costs players ore in the longer term. It’s also limited by the number of available calibration charges.

We’d also advise that you use our support ticket system when reporting potential exploits. Thanks!

Excuse me, but I think it's a dream that this game is no longer a beta. Also that it should have a value of 12,99€ (times Euro in my room). When I launch the game, which is more like half a game with no content, it will compete with real games bulging with content. How, please, does this price reflect the content of the game? Then please, slap a shop still in the game for cosmetic things so you can survive financially.

Obviously, the game won’t be in a beta state anymore when it launches on September 27th.
    It's a joke, right?
Our revenue share on Steam is much lower compared to operating the game on our website.
Then there was bad negotiation with Steam, was it the only way new players would be lured into the game in a media-friendly and cheap way?
Our economic environment has evolved dramatically, with rampant inflation and the huge variations in the US Dollar to Euro exchange rate.
For some time now, the rate has been constant at 1:1

It disappoints me that the prices cannot reflect what the game represents. If it was true to the game content, you would have lowered the subscription. But well, I understand that AWS is expensive and the money is hardly worth it in the current times. But I beg you, if you are facing bankruptcy and the whole project is dead, say so and don't drag the players down with you. It is negligent to think that new players will stay for a long time via Steam, accordingly you get some funds now, but in the long run the game will not be able to keep players over 6-12months and keep them busy. Has this been considered?

I have 200L, which was a decent amount at the time.  I spent time working on the search but was never one of the core members and thought it was a fair share at the time (there was never very much of it and most was never given out).

I was pleased when they announced the reward and really annoyed when they set the bar too high (100L would have been better, or have 2 tiers if they want like with the backer ones).  I let off a lot of steam and am over it now ...

Why does civilization building equate to more ways to blow stuff up? I recognize that in RL, civilization does equal bigger wars, I just find it a little sad that this is just a matter of fact thing.

IMHO, we need a good foundation before all these features are dropped down. Just adding TW and AvA for the sake of blowing up more stuff doesn't help the game at all. We need a framework for all of these features that gives purposes to all of it. Civilizations go to war for reasons (usually).

After improving the game we already have, I would rather see social and civilization type features added that act as as foundation that ties all of the other aspects of the game together. Politics, culture, trade, warfare should all be connected. Any actual civilization building game ties all of these together with benefits and consequences to pursuing any of those goals.

AvA, yea. Did the idea that DU engine can only support lock&shoot in a vacuum crossed you mind ?
Or the part where I see a wall, you are behind it. I turn around so it unloads and then turn back fast and shoot. Yahooooo I win.

    Dear NovaQuark and investors,

There's absolutely no [filtered]ing way the game (Dual Universe) is worth that much on its current state. Everyone knows this release is being a rushed one and other than saying "we aren't in beta anymore" there's no valid reason to say this game isn't a beta. You don't even have a roadmap anymore, and even when you had, most of things that were promised/planned for the game haven't been delivered. For all it's worth, DU should never go past the $10 monthly mark unless you, NovaQuark, actually put work into bringing more content, lore, events and FUN into the game, instead of making it a big afk mess which feels more like those mobile money-grabbing games than a proper PC MMO.

I really hope that with a 50% raise in subscription costs you also deliver AT LEAST 50% more content, fun and quality to justify this increase, because being very honest here, the game isn't worth that price, and if you don't trust/listen us from the player base, I really hope you brace yourselves for the Steam and independent reviews, because I'm sure they won't be good. And don't expect Dual Universe is going to live well enough to do a No Man's Sky turnaround, because the moment you release it charging $15 a month the expectations will be high, and everyone here who played the game in all it's phases knows it won't last.

Good luck with your afk game, we tried supporting you with content, feedback and even wishlisting the game, but every announcement you give us gives an even worse impression on the outcome of this pseudo-release.

So just to recap. You are wiping all of our player made content and progress from the last two years, going from Beta to Launch with almost no real new content/systems ready at launch (only quality of life improvements) and now you are more than doubling the price of the monthly subscription? Do you guys say these things out loud in meetings before you announce them? You know it sounds crazy right?
