    @Knight-Sevy Just LoL

NQ just turned the already overjoy grind into a killer grind because to many people play DU.

Having all these players around is bad for server load and some are now forced to wieber the server.

The points you mention are solid and true but what you miss is that NQ already had countermeasures in place like overly abundant tax and time sinks.

When a ship gets soo loaded with water, it does not help to scrap the use of buckets to empty it, Then it will sink.

We will see cashback request soon, specially since patron sponsor and contributor packages are under european digital market law.

Yes Hi I'm here to agree with OP. This ruins the game for a whole lot of us, especially smaller orgs that were only able to get tiles with 2L/h of T2s or 3s.
Please reverse this change. You said that this is not an exploit. This makes industry and even a huge amount of income completely unattainable. Change this now

Honestly...there's no such thing as any game studio that has an objective understanding about what's fun or engaging in their game.

That's what happens when you spend 100s and 100s of hours making something...it's human nature.

That's why beta testing and player feedback is something professional studios care about!

Anyone that's ever worked in game dev (even a little) knows how easy it is to only see faults or to make big (and stupid in hindsight) assumptions about how players will play or what players will understand.

NQ's blanket unwillingness to read or engage with feedback (unless it is "balanced" with lots of compliments) is bad practice for any professional, but is especially dangerous in game dev.

Most devs are humble enough that they only see faults, but NQ seems to have the opposite problem. They only see good things, and are arrogant enough to think that they alone know what players want and that player feedback is therefore a waste of time.

Their CEO is a web3 fanatic obsessed with the metaverse...good luck getting him to ground the team in reality, buckle down, and fix things with the humility and focus this industry demands.

It sucks for the employees that have been let down by this self-defeating company culture, but sometimes people just can't learn no matter how many times a lesson slaps them in the face.

NQ keeps doing the same thing and expecting magical results.

They post about the future of DU, but certainly can't be bothered to read or engage with feedback.

We don't even get the generic platitudes like "we're listening and improving" or "we're working hard to fix things"...it's just business as usual. Slow dev, slow support, and no communication.

The future of DU is more of the same...no growth, no comms, and no feature depth. Without some amount of major change soon, I don't see how DU can have a long-term future.

NQ could at least pretend to be making changes and improvements with generic platitudes, but even that is more effort than they want to spend on PR.

This exactly. NQ explicitly stated calibration mining was valid - and less efficient long term (so there was a cost to doing so).

Not to mention, there are few practical ways to get T2+ ore right now given the extremely low ore rates.

NQ should refund talent points invested for calibration mining.

As others have expressed, waiting 24 hours to calibrate a mining unit is a completely unnecessary and game-breaking change. What's the point of "trace" tiles now? Why even put tiles in the game with 2L/h?
Please do the right thing and reverse this change. There's no need for this

Edit: Alternatively, how about just giving all the T2/3 tiles equal amounts. The competition is over, just let us have some resources

This is just hyperbole. You may not like the direction of DU (and this is your perfectly valid person opinion), but you can't honestly say it is worse than it was two years ago.

I like it and have thoroughly enjoyed the launch so far. I was furious over the wipe. Still a bit disappointed. That said, it has been refreshing to be poor and manage through rebuilding.

One consideration is for ore distribution to shift on a set cadence. Say every four weeks (or eight or something), ore distribution changes, forcing people to re-scan and drop mining units. This keeps tiles from being locked up forever.

Doombad reacted to Dakanmer in Extra Large elements needed
I know I'm far from the only person to suggest this in the last few months or few years. I know NQ has heard it many times. We need larger flight elements. We have XL space engines, and we have tiered atmo/space engines and hovers/vboosters, which is great. We don't have XL atmo engines. We don't have XL atmo brakes or retros or adjustors, nor do we have tiered brakes/adjustors.

    We need:
XL atmospheric engines XL atmospheric brakes XL retro-rocket brakes XL adjustors XL hover engines XL vertical boosters Military/safe variants of atmo/space brakes and adjustors L and XL wings L and XL ailerons
It is beyond ridiculous how many L brakes and adjusters have to be loaded down on a ship to make it flyable. Even simple and lightweight designs can require a ridiculous number of each, making designers have to find ways to hide them under voxels so that the designs don't look like something a Warhammer orc would throw together. But looks aren't the only problem. It's also the element count. When you need hundreds of flight elements to fly a ship, the lag generated by those elements can get pretty intense, and that's not even looking at scripts that get info from/about them for display or use. When you need hundreds of flight elements to make a ship capable of flight that the achievements call for (100k m^3 of material, fly 1kt in atmo, haul 10kt in space at max speed), or even for normal high-capacity hauling, you stop caring about making a ship that looks good (they're already constrained to the volume of a square, rather than having the option to have a longer/wider/shorter build volume) and focus only on making sure you've got enough brakes, adjustors and engines.

These demands for bigger flight elements have been made over and over by many people for the past several years. It would be great if @NQ would actually listen and take action on an issue that is this old. Ships requiring >100 L atmo brakes and >100 L space brakes and >10 XL space engines and >10 L atmo engines and >50-100 adjustors are butt-ugly lagmonsters, but people make them because they need/want what they can do.

may be you're confusing the "white bar under the item" with "damaged element" ? visually it's like dyn prop but it's just that the element has been restored at least once and is not 3/3 anymore.

seems a little silly to have the same visual indicator for two different states on an item though, but i guess silly is better than not working  and it is NQ after all, so silly shouldnt be a surprize

Ah ok I see now, so once you use up all the charges you won't be able to do it anymore even when replacing it down? That makes sense then.

I was under the impression you could keep doing it over and over without penalty gaining ore all day long. I haven't tried it past the charges but yes makes sense now.

It's absolutely not an exploit, because NQ have repeatedly said it isn't. They've known that this is how it works since Beta, and they're "happy" to leave it as it is. I mean, it's had to make an Element retain "memory" of when it was used when you pick it back up into Inventory, innit?

Cruddy design? Sure, arguably. But hey, it's NQ. Expecting them to appreciate the consequences of their game systems is starting to become a naive standpoint. The "eruption" of ore ought to be proportional to the abundance of that ore in the tile, so recalibrating on a 1L/hour tile gets you 1% of recalibrating on a 100L/hour tile. That would make intuitive sense. You could make Haven an exception so newbies aren't shafted by such a change.

"Duping" constructs or Quanta is a whole different realm of exploit, and while you could argue that it's just as bad for the economy, replace-recalibrate has been drawn to NQ's attention enough by now that we can be confident it's just their usual nonsense.

I'm pro a wipe for a clean launch, but only if it’s confirmed to be persistent after that point.
