    So NQ needs a way to dump all this crap so when you fly over alioth the old crap is not loaded from DB and they don't pay AWS.
     
    So they make taxes as 99% of playerbase already left and will just lose their "civilization building mark" as their terris will abandon.
     
     
    Ok. I just usually see companies doing more than erasing people stuff to get players back. It should just be French logic that I don't get.

    The deployment of BP is a problem I agree with you.
     
    But to the question why there is no city?
     
    The answer is quite simple. There is simply no point in having one in the game.
     
    There is no mechanic that will make players live close to each other.
     
    The only needs are storage / Factory.
     
    Markets are NQ installations whereas it could have been up to the player to manage them for example.

    We are far from doing anything "efficient". Let's first get to "stable" then to "feature-complete" and only then do that part.

    What's your problem guys.
    You decide on the amount of engines and put them at rear. One near another as close to the border of box as possible.
    Put the rest of crap in front of the engines, you have space until the box ends.
    When fighting, point the sausage nose towards the enemy.
     
    This flying bunch of elements is the most efficient design so why bother.

    There is no problem with active mining as an element in the game.
    Eve is great example of that.
    NQ took many elements of the game but decided to make mining by them self and it fails.
    NQ is not aware about how bad this mechanic is because they don't do it.

    Mining can be fun, but current mining have to be replaced with something less annoying.
    For me the mining is not a problem, it's finding the ores that piss me off.
    Most of time you spend digging dirt and trying to find node, only to find 2500L nod.
    In eve you don't care, you can switch between rocks within 1s.
    In starbase you always have similar amount of ore, and you can judge the amount of ore, on size of asteroid(Imageine that!).
    Another example is mining in ED, there is lots of people who do it for fun.
    Imagine giving us a some kind of explosive material, then turning it on and seeing big freaking explosion fallowed with exposing the ores.
    I guarantee you that lots of people would mine because it would be fun to blow things up and get nodes pop.

    They want an eve scale game with the player counts of a small minecraft server.

    I like the idea of a centralised element for these however, I think the one you are suggesting is already taken and trying to use it in DU might be problematic.

    As the meta changes and DU moves to more classic approach - When every person is sitting on a his own ship(as having 1 ship with many gunners is now useless, each ship now has same defense - one shield gen). I would like to propose some interface changes.
     
    A well made interface is very important for fluent and enjoyable gameplay, current meta of sitting in a gunner seat and using a remote control to control your ship is far from being the best gaming experience.
     
    We currently have shields and "stress". We are planned to have energy. Therefore I have a good idea of a possible interface:
     

     
    The outer layer can demonstrate the shield status, the middle interface the stress of the voxels and the inner circle the HP of the core. The middle section can be used to represent the future "energy" that the ship has.
     
    As we go further we may think about adding an advanced ECU that assists the pilot while piloting. You activate the advanced ECU that brings you to a third person view. While the advanced ECU is active, you can see the before-mentioned interface and control the ship by double-clicking in the direction you want the ship to fly to.
     
    This way pilots can concentrate on overviewing the battle from the command perspective and decide on further course of action in a much more enjoyable manner.

    So voxels were useless in PVE
    Now they are useless in PVP
     
    Why not just remove them from the game or make them weight=0 as they are useless cosmetic additions that have no function.

    AC was bunch of orgs
    Let me try.
     
    <story starts at beta release>
    AC was a bunch of orgs, mostly carebears, limited amount of PVPers under alliance named Ascendancy or something.
    ATOM joined them and did some white knight PVP under name of "AC ATOM". Did some fun events for PVP and generated content.
    Here come the asteroids and ATOM decided that protecting other AC carebears is no fun especially if they don't pay and left AC.
    Some AC orgs that do at least some PVP followed ATOM and they formed legion.
    AC remained with mostly carebears and will most likely be irrelevant now.
     
    All this "majoir political event" and MMO drama involve no more than 2 dozen people at this point.
    No one outside of AC/legion really cares about this.
     
    On the first day of legion being formed, "AC ATOM" ship got cored in PVP space. ATOM leaders denied it is one of theirs saying it's fake. It turned out to be a lame try to cover a carebear loss of ATOM member.
