Let's say if every single members of the big organisations are active, how many of them are there because their organisation is the biggest and the strongest?
And how many will jump ship after their nation's first defeat in pvp when they realize they won't dominate the universe? ?
 
From my experience in mmorpgs like Black Desert, which is basically a 100-members-guild based game, 50% of the top organisations split, disband or just disappear within the first three month and the new ones rise, so don't worry if your organisation only has 2 members right now, it only matters three month into the release! ?

Hey Brimor!  It's about time!  Welcome aboard ?

What happens if you travel back to your point of origin though?  You should be hundreds of years into the future compared to the people who never left that planet.  And the game won't be able to facilitate that.  How will they make a planet look that much more developed for only YOU?  Who is going to build it up from what it was before?  You would REALLY have to travel in time to make it work.
 
Well there is one way I could see this working.  If DU ever finds they need to limit the amount of players playing at one time b/c of server load, then they could implement separate shards.  Then when someone time travels, the timeline could split off and port them over to another shard.  It would still be full of complications though.  It would have to be a one way trip and they would have to limit the number of times you could to it to the number of shards they implement.  But it would be a totally different reality when you got there and you would loose all communication and connection to the old shard forever.  If you travel back in time from there, the past would be different too. 
 
I doubt we'll ever see DU address time travel.  Heck, even the most talented physicists in the world cant agree on what time actually is and how it works.  So its really asking too much for game developers to deal with it in a game like this.  We'll get FTL one day through in the way of star gates and maybe natural wormholes or something like that instead.  Then they can skirt   around the issue of time travel all together.

Lol,  yeah, they would have to.  Not sure how I could build fast enough to keep up with that kind of time dilation if its only an illusion.

But in a game where there are only other real players, wouldn't someone need to actually time travel, for this to work?
 

I think the only implications come from whether or not the creator is making money off of someone else's IP.  So while it might be OK for us to make them, I doubt we could sell them for actual money or that NQ would be able to use them in any promotional materials for the game.  Otherwise, I don't think the law can stop people from making stuff like that just for fun.  If so then Twitter would have been shut down a long time ago.

@Alayna  There are lots of Landmark players in the game and there are no official DU rules as to who can or can't join any organization (unless the org itself has such rules).  I have several LM friends in my org.  Some are going rouge and haven't joined any org at all. Some set up their own org. And afaik you don't have to be a Landmark player to join Pantera's org either (correct me if I'm wrong Pantera). 

Well, the way I see it is that it's NQ's game, NQ's data, NQ's website, and now it's NQ's discord.   They should feel free to purchase/use any scripts that they find that they feel necessary to complete their job.  If they find one that is free to serve some time-saving purpose, even better.  More money for the game itself.  They do not need permission to use - or to even tell us - what programming is behind everything they use. 
 
For all we know this very site and forum itself could be using open source that someone else coded.  They might even be DU players too. (gasp!)  IMO it's just not smart to re-create the wheel.  Almost everything I use for my own stuff and for my clients is open source. Lord only knows who originally coded it.  But if something is wrong with it, the community will darn well make it known, asap.  It's the proprietary stuff that no one ever gets to see that should cause issues (if you must have issues, that is.)

I always thought that information should be totally private.  I think it would be OK to show the legates just so ppl can contact them, and maybe show the number of members in the org, but listing every member publicly is going to effect politics and subterfuge.  I hope they change it.

The way I see it is even if we did have such an AI available, the big orgs will also be able to use it.  So even though you can run a larger business (or empire) than before, so will the larger orgs.  You would be in the exact same place. 
 
But you CAN be rich and live comfortably on your own, if you want. Just come up with an idea, product, service, etc that is so good that everyone has to have it.  Then you don't have to sell everything like a general store would.  Specialize on one special thing and you can keep up with the big guys if you want.
 
I still bet you'll have to hire security.  But you don't necessarily have to buddy up to them or let them in on your secrets  Just hire a team, let them do their thing and pay them well.

Probably its better to organize Neutrals in Organizations like the https://community.dualthegame.com/organization/inter-neutral-assembly  And try to negotiate Non-aggression terms with the parties at war. For Tranquility I am already negotiating non-aggression treaties and what i noticed is that there is always a mutual reason that can bring you together and form such a treaty. Just need to have something to offer as neutral. But on the other hand, if you don't have anything at all to offer as organization, what is the purpose of the organization anyway?
 
Anyway, if anyone is interested in non-aggresion or other treaties with Tranquility just give me a poke on discord.
