  1. I dont think any of it matters much either way when you're likely sitting stationary and asking the other guy if he will hold still so you can finally test your guns. (Sorry, couldn't resist).
  2. That's the first thing I thought too. My guess is there are a lot of sub-orgs using cores and server resources (heaven forbid.) Oh well, par for the course.
  3. So, popped in to see if anything new was released and don't find anything of real worth. No mission system. No PvP work. No nothing but a few re-colors of existing assets. Have all the programmers quit?
  4. People like you = people who choose to play PvP games and then complain about the PvP. That's what you're doing right? But then you already knew that because that's what we're talking about.
  5. So it's about T4 & T5 resources now? This game has ALWAYS been advertised as an open PvP game. It was supposed to have one small safe zone on Alioth around the markets. PvErs complained. Then they added a safe moon. PvErs complained. Then they expanded it to three whole planets and all the space in between. PvErs complained. Then they added the surrogate thing so you didn't even have to travel in space at all! PvErs complained. Now you're complaining about not bein able to mine ore that is basically only useful for people who play PvP? Call me shocked. No amount of concession or compromise is good enough for players like you. No worries, you'll get your wish. but I estimate 6 months to a year before you lose ALL of your builds in one fell swoop with no option, whatsoever, to rebuild when the game gets shut down for being so damned boring. Mark my words.
  6. I'm so tired of this discussion. You all see the state of the game right now, right? It's because of a lack of decent PvP. Carebear builders don't want to actually PLAY this game with us. They just want our adoration - of their empty, useless buildings. See, I'm not a PvP player. I am a builder. And a pretty darn good one (if I say so myself). However, I am NOT satisfied building an empty city no one will ever use, let alone visit. I don't care how many "likes" I get on Twitter for my skills. That is the ONLY end-goal in a building game without PvP; Likes, adoration, popularity and logging in every day to see how awesome people think you are. You don't want an actual game, you just want to showcase your building skills somewhere. And then you call people like ME toxic because you don't like it when I defend the vision this game is built upon. If you want an economy, politics, civilization, you have to have PvP. If you want your builds to MEAN something and have purpose, you need PvP. Period. That is exactly what builders like me came to this game for. Please, for the love of God, please just go find one of the many building games without PvP in them and go play those. Quit trying to ruin a game that is already on its last leg. Many of us builders came here specifically so our builds can have purpose. I want to see if I can build beautiful buildings that can actually protect my belongings, my org and my city. I WANT people to attack them to see if my designs are just fluff or if they can stand up to the challenge. This is why this game is so f'd up right now. The more NQ listens to people who signed for this game only to try to change the vision, the faster this game will end up in the tank. Seen it happen. Every damn time. No one wants to EVER let builders who LIKE PvP actually have a game where you can build AND have PvP. I'm so sick of trying to play games with these people who are so afraid of digital bullets running their digital buildings that don't mean anything at all except something to look at. What a waste of my time to even think that carebear pve players would let us alone and let us have a game built for just us for a change. Well I'm sure you're going to get your wish because game devs fall for carebear threats of leaving every damn time. I predict that very soon the only threat to your builds will be the game being shut down due to lack of players. And when it that happens, please remember that YOU had a hand in its demise.
  7. NQ has been quite clear since the beginning of Beta that there was no promise that they would never wipe. They have always said they might if they need to. And IMO they really, really need to at some point. Some might quit, yes, but I bet a lot who have already quit will come back as most of us quit because of the schematics and the related debacle that gave other orgs a SEVERE advantage over the rest of us.
  8. Regarding schematics... I think if you wipe then it puts everyone back on an even playing field - literally. Yes, some of the newer players will lose some work, but you already wiped out all the older players - at least the ones who were not at the market in time to grab all those super cheap schematics. The consequences of the entire .23 debacle made almost all of my org quit and put my org at a great disadvantage while others are probably STILL profiting from it. I spent three years helping to promoting this game, helping test this game and building that org up from scratch and it sounds like players like me are not being figured into your plans at all. So i believe that after you make your decision on what to do with the schematics you should wipe so everyone who was left out can get an even start again. I think it's the fairest way to deal with this for everyone involved.
  9. Why, exactly, will you be broadcasting asteroids that players spend time, quanta and resources to find themselves out to all the pirates so they can come take it? Wouldn't it be only fair to require pirates to spend some time, quanta and resources to find US? Please reconsider this decision.
  10. This! This kind of mentality is THE main reason we don't have the games we all thought we would have by now. Back when MMOs first came out, we were all playing UO and EQ1 while imagining how awesome games would be one day. These kinds of people made it so there was NO other option than to get investors and in-depth game play fell by the wayside because developers started working to please investors and not players. Investors are the reason we are ALL playing EA games now. And it all goes back to people griping about paying for games.
  11. Everyone here has paid to be in this game one way or another and they have the right to offer feedback, post suggestions and join in on ANY conversation they like. It is simply not your place to tell them otherwise.
  12. The whole idea of the mission system is messed up. I have (had?) a space trucking business. I wanted mission kiosks that could be put on our claims so I could put them out so that people could chose MY MISSIONS. That's really what I thought it would be. I didn't think it would be an auction house style thing where EVERYONE was on the same system. So doing it this way kind of kills all of my ideas Instead of letting us control our own mission kiosks, its now just another auction house. No relationships have to be built. No infrastructure must be built. No one even has to talk to each other. It's not emergent game-play at all. It doesn't matter what contacts I have made. What kind of reputation I wanted to build. No one will ever say, "well if you want good reliable service you must hire The Outfit.". It means that people like the OP will never search out a transportation organization like mine to join up with us. They don't need us. No one needs us. Its like every opportunity NQ might offer players for emergent game play and cooperation is destroyed before anyone can even get started because their intention is not to let emergent game play actually emerge. They want to force us into all of it artificially instead.
  13. Wow, another "fix" for the markets that is just another bandaid. Why is it so hard to delete ships after a certain amount of time!?!?!?!?! I just don't get it. How about you remove the markets all together and get us our player markets and we can spread ALL that processing out across the entire game? It would at least give ME a small reason to play again. I could set up a nice little market center and rent out shops. I would have something useful to build again. Heaven forbid NQ try to turn lemons into lemonade. Yep, in case you can't tell, I'm one of those artists. I made videos for this game until they removed those. Then they only allow 5 images which is insane, but I made do. And now they yank HTML/CSS. If HTML (of all things) is slowing the server down so much then there are way more significant problems that need to be fixed. But once again, NQ is taking the easy way out and doesn't care how it affects the players. I'm losing any remaining hope that I will be able to begin playing this game again. In the two months I've been gone the game continues to move backwards. Sigh... what a total bummer.
  14. What tech are you talking about? The server tech that was supposed to allow 100s of players and/or ships to play in one area at the same time without horrible lag? Yeah, that tech doesn't work.
  15. I spent hours, HOURS of my free time typing up responses to focus groups and the like for these guys. And there are many who spent TONS more time than I did. Most of it went ignored. Had they only listened to some of our feedback we would have been in a better spot. The way they specifically asked for and then proceeded to ignore our suggestions was rather insulting. They didn't even pretend to listen. That's what put a sour taste in my mouth. I know I'm not a "scientist" but my time is just as valuable as anyone else's. I feel they had zero respect for that.
  16. The rest of them will be go mine X and deliver it to me. The mission system won't keep people from having to mine. It will be a lot of big guys trying to convince the small guys that mining for them at a loss is in the way to go. Bounties might be nice when ava comes, until the average player realizes that he will spend more in ship parts, ammo, fuel and time than the bounty is worth. Until they fix the grind of mining and the costs of basic industry, I think this game has about had it.
  17. Whatever dude. I have my opinion and you have yours. You're not changing mine, but I bet yours changes in due time. Please do carry on ...
  18. Wow, did you read the same page as me? All the promises about solo players being a thing, building giant moon-sized bases, AvA, everything being player generated, etc? The market is is run by bots, the most valuable items (schematics) are not player made, no mass producing blueprint factory, solo players have no chance, there is no AVA, no "transparent" development, we can't "create" our own markets, no missions/quests, there's no way in hell the server can support cities or ships with 100 players on it...and on and on and on. Just wow.
  19. They actually promised to have the most transparent development in their Kickstarter where they were asking for our money. So yes, they do have an obligation to talk to us as they promised that to us as part of a giant marketing campaign. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1949863330/dual-universe-civilization-building-sci-fi-mmorpg There's all sorts of other promises they are not going to deliver on too. If this link redirects to a video, you might have to search for it on google. Last time I checked any reference to it on their site, forums, etc had been redirected to one of their promo videos. As for us old-timers being spoiled, I can only LMAO at that. NQ has NEVER lived up to that promise - ever. Not even close. Not even close to close. Had they ever bothered to have real discussions with us or tried to listen to even a small fraction of our feedback - this game probably wouldn't be in its current state. It was a bait and switch. They wanted free bug testers and they got them. And even then many of the bugs we found have yet to be fixed after all this time. So that's why so many of us are so salty. They made a promise, took our money, and didn't even try to keep that promise.
  20. Yes solo players have it even worse, that's for sure. That might be my only option if I come back though. Almost my entire org quit the game bc of schematics. Not sure if I'm up to starting over and building it back up from scratch though. We'll see. Just waiting and watching for now.
  21. Most of my org quit because of the schematics. I quit after the "great schematics exploit" when nothing was done about it. I used to LOVE industry, which is surprising. I don't normally play with that kind of thing but I found I loved trying to build the most productive lines I could, seeing how many different projects I could keep running at once, and so on. I would tweak for hours on my factory. All that fun disappeared in a day by NQ disabling my entire factory and pricing schematics so only large orgs could afford a factory. Meant I was now nothing more than than a miner who had to hustle ungodly amounts of ore - which is the most boring game-play ever. Still a little salty about it. ?
  22. Yes it does make one think. I really do feel their message to me is basically that it doesn't matter how much time and energy I gave with my promoting them all I could, my feedback and suggestions, my bug testing, atv focus groups, building an org and getting a business started in game, helping new players, the website I made, the discord I manage...or anything else I've contributed these past 3+ years. Don't mean to rant, but I really do feel that way sometimes. I know it's a game and in the scheme of things, its a little thing. I must have just gone insane. Idk.?‍♀️
  23. If they make it so I have to mine less so I can build more and ALSO wipe the server so we all start on an even playing field, I "might" consider trying this game again. And that's no small thing for me, I have about 12 cores up across two planets full of buildings and landing pads, ships and runways. But as it is now, no way I'm going to spend 90% of my game time mining anymore in an economy that is ridden with players who took advantage of so many exploits. My org is a business and we got screwed because we weren't online for any of the shenanigans that screwed the economy up and gave out almost free schematics to competitors. We're at a severe disadvantage through no fault of our own I'm not mining for a year just to catch up to them (if its even possible now).
  24. After years of playing with voxels, even though I love it, I have only reinforced my opinion that building for no purpose is just not fun. I don't want a "look what I can do" building sim where the only reward is a like on twitter. I wanted to build to withstand attacks, build stores that people would shop in, build buildings that we could have AvA battles in, etc. But it just takes too much grinding to do that in this game. I'm looking forward to Ashes of Creation now.
  25. What? She hasn't even been here that long! I didn't talk to her a lot personally but she seemed to be doing a great job! Too bad they are letting the only person left at NQ that talked to us walk out the door. What a shame.
