If you want a more polished PvP-centric gaming experience right now, go play Eve or Elite Dangerous. PvP isn't ready in DU.
 
STOP complaining about "carebears." Seriously. NQ wants a player driven economy, and those "carebears" will be supporting it and the war efforts so that PvPer's can kill each other. It's exactly what happens in Eve, even though there are those who would destroy all PvEer's for the sake of it (and destroy the economy along with them too, though they'll never admit it).
 
Just deal with it for now. I imagine that once there is more game content (meaning missions and other reasons to leave the "bubble") you'll get your PvP. I don't understand why some "PvPer's" want to target barely armed noobs and call it PvP. I just don't get it. But until then, deal with the fact that it's an unfinished and unoptimized game, barely out of Alpha, that's concentrating on basic building.

Or plug in an ore respawn mechanism.

I wonder what percentage of the planet tiles have either been scanned or had at least one node mined from them. This week I've scanned over 100 contiguous tiles on Jago in the middle of the oceans, as far from any markets or obvious settled bases (multiple tiles claimed) as I could. Barely any high end resources and I've mined through at least 6 mega node empty caverns (and those are the ones I've randomly encountered). I kept going further and further to see if I'd get into an untapped area and just fell into another mega node cavern.
 
The problem with this mining experience is not only is it RNG to get the high end resource you might need, but the odds of finding them continue to decrease with time. We are barely into the launch of the beta here and great swaths of the planets are scanned and cleared of the best resources. Yes, I'm sure there are "many" untapped tiles out there but the odds of finding one are continuing to decline. This is not a good experience and will only get worse over time. 
 
Yes, new planets might help, leaving this system a resource desert. I really think some kind of ground healing, random resource respawn system is needed.

already made those ipv6 / dns stuff, and didnt work in the troubleshooting section.

And the last time NQ talked about it, some days ago the answer was : "we are on it"
 
now its 10th, it must be a hell of a bug to take MORE than 10 days to fix it, a simple price from market server to game client

I actually completely disagree with your opinion on the state of the markets (economy wise) they are filling up with a variety of products, everyday I am competing with bots less and less and margins are getting tighter an tighter on most products.  

We sell a wide range of stuff across a wide range of markets (across several markets, on several planets), i visit several every day.  Two key things:
NQ MUST sort the bloody parking out, get tough with people, make a barren moon and ANYTHING is left at the markets for more than 48 hours is dumped there, DO SOMETHING.  It has been a problem for far too long. It screws up new player experience and stops people wanting to use the markets - I wouldnt mind if they were busy, but it is the same crappy ships and poxy advertising EVERY DAY, with the players that are actually using the market dotted around on the grass at some locations New players and orgs should be encouraged to manufacture and sell products, not use the obvious things but a wide range of stuff - we help our players to build there own industry and then enter the markets  

Yeah, if there is anything in the game so far that has frustrated me the most, RDMS system is it.  I mean, how hard could it have been to simply say - hey, anyone in the "organization" gets rights to everything in the organization - i.e. everything is shared by everyone.  Anything that someone doesn't want shared gets turned off by given player.

But instead it's the exact opposite.  You got to tag every single construct, element, territory claim unit ... you got tags, tags on tags, lists of lists and the damn thing STILL DOESN'T WORK.

It's the most counter-intuitive system I've encountered in a long time - and there is not any kind of adequate explanation for it either.

 
 

I have the same problem.  When applications were sent through the website, we were allowed to reply to them to ask a question or two.   We can no longer do that.  So I have to accept people blind if they don't go to my website or discord as asked.

Now I "have" been using that as a screening process thus far, but I should not have to deny every player who didn't see that I need to talk to them first.  That's going to end up costing us some otherwise good members to our org.


 

Great post but you have slightly missed my point, I am not interested in my opinion, I am interested in the DEVS sticking to THEIR opinion, which has been very open and honest from the start, that there will be limited safe spaces (sanc moon) and the rest will be self governed open pvp. 

I am interested in large player made governance, I am interesting in building a civilisation and civilisation comes with unified defence.  I have no issue with solo hermit players at all, I have an issue when they want to divert the game from the devs stated path.  If people do not want open pvp, why did they buy a game which open publicised it would be the case, I will tell you why, because they knew if they complained enough it would change....... and I can see it coming.  Solo hermit do nothing to contribute to civilisation, nothing to make the world bigger or better, they just offer soft targets when the fighting does start.

Please note that all of my opinion are solely based on NQ giving us all the tools we need to properly implement player made security / defence.  I STRONGLY believe that this includes some sort of robust offline protection, and generally strong defence.  NQ have also gone on record that they will strongly favour the defender AND that offence pvp will have to be planned to be successful.  Still interested to see who they are going to achieve this.

This is rich. I love threads like these because someone at some point is gonna accuse us of being psychopaths and sociopaths.... You likely will get banned for that if you keep it up. They don't allow name calling here. 
 
Risk vs reward is the most honest and realistic resource sink there is if there is no NPCs or PVE. You guys call PVPers the minority... But why are some of you activating mutual defense treaties? And why are some of you complaining regarding removing safe zones if there are no pvpers out there? 
 
There are massive pvp orgs in this game.... We will fight each other. We want to fight each other... We plan on waging war on each other. But we are gimped at the moment. So because we are so limited we have to hunt the easy prey. Turn us loose and let us run... We will find each other and be less likely to be camping your slow boat routes. 
 
Or keep it the way things are and the moment you try to come out we will shoot your ships.... Interdiction is a planned feature as well... What happens then? 
 
You may have to work with other orgs.. in a team game.... Who would have thunk it.

I don't think we need any coded feature for that though.  I would say you can control a planet as soon as you can defend it.

I've got about 60 people who applied to SLI in the game but haven't come to our Discord. Our policy is that you need to interview on Discord before joining the game in the org. Unfortunately, there is no way to communicate with the applicants and send them our link unless their names happen to match between Discord and DU, except to add them as contacts in DU. But as far as I know, there's no way to remove a contact - you can remove them from your list but you're still on theirs as far as I can tell, and can therefore lock on to you. I know I keep getting notifications about people I've removed. I wish I could add a message when I reject an application.
 
Does anyone have a solution to this issue? Any ideas? I don't want to just mass-reject people without a hearing. Thanks.

Sadly the Help and Troubleshooting channel has become a festering plague of people asking/begging for stuff, fuel cause they ran out, repairs to a ship cause I crashed, glass cause I can. It’s really sad the state that this channel has become, and even sadder is the fact that you don’t even need to fill out a ticket, just go there and spam the channel until you get what you want from a staff member.
I got kind of mad at all the begging so when someone said they had crashed because they came to fast to the planet ad it lagged a little they needed an admin to repair their ship? Little REALLY?! Repair the damn thing yourself wtf!
 
But NQ staff is catering to everyone there, don’t matter how small or stupid the request is..... They need to rename this channel The Beggar’s Corner....
