NQ No Longer Supporting Discord... Thoughts?
Haunty replied to iNFiDeL's topic in General Discussions
The ticket system isn't the problem, it's the process. I work in support and everything goes through ticket, even immediate issues, it's just a matter of having the priorities and the response in place. Some companies have a good process and others have crappy one. Hopefully this means NQ is starting to improve theirs. -
I played Eve for many years since it was released but eventually lost interest. I was wanting something new like 1st person sci-fi and I learned about Star Citizen, but then I got more into sandbox/building type games.

I don't see it as either/or. I joined the game because it is a single shard sandbox MMO, everything else is just details.

I watched the video and he just said he was given a free subscription which alone could qualify as a promotion, otherwise we just don't know. And his comments seemed mostly accurate to me, not all positive or wishy washy.

NQ No Longer Supporting Discord... Thoughts?
Haunty replied to iNFiDeL's topic in General Discussions
I think it makes sense, especially with a limited support staff. If everything goes to the ticket system then things can be prioritized, anything else like instant chat takes away resources from the tickets and is not fair to people who use the ticket system. The operation of the ticket system and setting expectations is another challenge. -
I don't get it, but farewells to you.

Too many assumptions here for only hearing one side of only 2 people.

I think people comment that when some solo players whine about it being too hard or not fair because they can't compete with orgs, as if. The silent majority of solo players are carrying on happily I think. I actually remember them saying the opposite. Besides I don't think a game for everyone is possible.

I plan on getting it after I upgrade my graphics card whenever the newer RTXs are actually available to buy. I wanted to wait a bit anyways so they can fix bugs. I've been playing Genshin Impact lately, which is kind of addicting.

It's already happening, don't really need special game mechanics for it, just call a known rescue org for help, give position and what you need etc.

There are industry talents that effectively reduce the amount of ore needed to make something, but only to a point. I have also seen some under priced things on market.

Voxel Constructs that you can save in a list and use
Haunty replied to DrFrigoPorco's topic in Idea Box
This was planned but not a priority, so someday we could see it. -
I think as a beginner one should learn how to pilot instead of getting into the habit of compensating by overdoing it with elements. What I see a lot of are ships that are on an undersized core and end up using most of the core space with lots of large elements so they end up filling the space and become square shaped. Maybe useful that way but not pretty and not even necessarily efficient.

Maybe if NQ gave the option to disable scripts running from constructs you don't own.

Checking In - Have things improved since 0.23?
Haunty replied to Biblitz's topic in General Discussions
Schematics prices were reduced since the .23 patch, which is better to some people. I find markets a little less active than they were, but still active. -
(Discussion) What do you feel is holding DU back?
Haunty replied to Warlander's topic in General Discussions
Just time and staff to put in all the features and polish the game -
I just think it's odd that bug reports and support requests are submitted and viewed the same way. Most other games I tested, when submitting a bug report, you get no response or maybe an automated response and then it's done, unless a dev asks for more info.

I'd guess it will run okay, but depends on where you are in the game. Crowded areas on planets may be bad. It's hard to say though, people have very mixed results with all kinds of hardware.

NQ YOU NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT SHIPS REALLY!
Haunty replied to GarbageKnight's topic in General Discussions
I don't think it should be easy or cheap to haul 10 L containers full of ore though. Just being able to carry 3-5x your ship's empty weight is pretty functional, which is easily done with "pretty" designs. Some larger elements could be useful, like L wings/ailerons, maybe XL brakes. But high Gs are not necessary for hauling. I only use one L airbrake and 2 L space brake on my medium hauler and I carry up to 1.5 kt with it. No need to add more mass in extra elements. I think PvP could use some speed tanking similar to Eve. NQ also mentioned the possibility of shields in the future. And BOO's flagship is pretty and functional in PvP. -
That is not common with that kind of hardware. I have a 9900k, 1080Ti, and 32GB ram and everything is fairly smooth even around the districts. Not sure what would cause it to be that low.
-
How are you calculating that? It doesn't cost me that much to repair, assuming I don't buy scrap at ridiculous margins.

DIVERSEIFYING GAME GRIND not just 99% mining
Haunty replied to GarbageKnight's topic in General Discussions
NQ never ruled out PvE and they already have plans to add things, but it's not going to happen all at once.
