We only just had all the cores transferred from our sub orgs to MTI proper, the real cleanup begins now... gotta build 1 voxel towers and ask NQ to clean the terrain from the roads since they hadn't originally... RDMS was a nightmare before Panacea - so much easier now. Been working on lots of other stuff too. Hopefully the city will become something more than a bunch of roads down the line.

ok, thank you, I was worried some of you would get nasty about things but, I see your all pretty level headed.

Jinxed, I only put in the X-Airforce so people would understand I was it the Atmospheric Flight business from age 19-26. I was a Crew-chief on A-10 Warthogs and I understand how aircraft fly.

Atmosph3rik, being new to this game, how do I change the controls to the mouse and set it to fly like a plane and not an out of control hovercraft?
I bought a N188 Mule MK2s. crashed it 4 times trying to get it back to my Territory. When I finally crashed in my territory and died, I went back to it, repaired it and tried to move it to my house. It was a very poor attempt on my part. I give it just 10% power and off it go like a bat out of hell. seems there's not much difference from 10% power to 100% power. I'd fly thru my territory. I'd hit full reverse yet it did nothing, so I'd turn around and hit full forward and it would then slow a then shoot me forward right back thru my territory the other way. know control at all. I don't even see how you can land like that. crash yes. I did this several times got pissed and just rammed it in the ground in my territory. Repaired it and just left it there.
It was meant to be my work horse for Minning.

Blazemonger, Yes I mean PvE. if there missions/quest are all PvP they will lose about 90% of potential players. in World of Warcrafts hayday they had 14 million players on 222 servers. only about 1 million want to play PvP the rest PvE.

I have a question? About my Hovercraft. How do I pocket it?
If I go to another world I would want to take it with me.

I would support a wipe if I thought it would fix the game, but it wont.. The underlying issues are still mostly there.
And I remember NQ saying they had capped the quanta on the according to them handful of accounts that made "billions" on previous mishaps.

And frankly I have a hard time seeing why everybody should be made to suffer a wipe, just to satisfy the ego of a few. It would make much more sense for NQ to backtrack logs and remove elements/quanta from specific accounts instead. Especially since wiping would pretty much be the same as saying bye bye to a large percentage of builder focused players, which I suspect is a larger crowd then industrialists and PvP'ers at the moment.

    Abandonment will already accomplish that.

And they just went to so much trouble telling everyone that if they ever decide to come back, their stuff would be safe if it's left on a sanctuary tile.

So now they're going to wipe the whole game just to delete everyone's stuff from sanctuary?

That would be pretty cold.  But also, really heavy handed, when they could definitely figure out another way to solve that problem.

A wipe will always be on the table, if NQ decides one is needed.  And if there's a good reason i'm sure they will.

But i don't see any reason for one.

Simple solve, if a beta account isn't converted into a paying sub on release, delete their cores/unclaim the land after 3 months like any other non paying sub. Game cleans itself, no wipe required.

GraXXoR reacted to Bazzy_505 in Atmospheric Flight, all wrong!
Actually DU flight model is newtonian to a fault.  However Ailerons in DU are somwhat a misnomer.  Turning on aircraft is initiated by stalling corresponding wing (roll) as it should be.
Aileron in real world is a type of airfoil that changes lift vector (but provides lift on its own).  In DU it works like a fixed lift surface with reduced stall angle profile.
Now some here are mixing apples and oranges.
Airfoil surface that stalls a wing by generating drag (but doesn't provide any lift)  is actually called Spoileron.  It is small distinction with a big difference.

If BUFF had ailerons on its wings instead of spoilerons if would have twisted off its wings hehe.

Atmospheric flight model here is somewhat simplistic, but in its basics true to form. Space flight models is however very much on "placeholder" side of things.

If you really want realistic and true to form flight, it's time to dust off your HOTAS gear and fire up DCS world.  I cannot say for the other planes, but the HOG simulation is as close to the real thing as it gets.

    Hi everyone,
As this topic has been the opposite of a constructive thread, it will now be locked.
@Daphne Jones@Lethys This kind of behavior to antagonize a part of the Community is not acceptable, here's a new warning.
Using  words like "gtfo", "carebear", "butthurt" is only meant to provoke/flame and escalate conflict and you (very well) know it. You're not new here.

EDIT: warning added to @VandelayIndustries, for sharing the same "spirit" as the two mentioned above.

Griefers isn't a homophobic slur for one...but my point was that insults are childish and stupid no matter who is using them. Which I said rather clearly.

"But they did it too" is about as childish and useless a defense as you can muster.

    Completely irrelevant to my point.

All name calling makes you sound like a child, but especially mildly homophobic slurs like "butthurt".

I don't care if you enjoy PvP or not (personally I do enjoy it)...if you resort to boring, repetitive, childish insults, your opinion should be thrown in the dumpster as irrelevant garbage. It doesn't matter "who starts it" -- this isn't 2nd grade and the topic is a video game. If you must use insults, at least save it for a topic worth getting riled over.

I don't get how a game of mostly adults...mostly 30+ year old adults...so often devolves into pointless name-calling.

If you feel the need to use the term "carebear" or "butthurt", you don't have anything worth saying.

It's a deep irony that people who accuse others of having thin skin or being too "weak" for PvP so often have their feathers ruffled with the drop of a pin.

They copy basic ideas from other games for sure, almost impossible not to do so today.
But they also always somehow manage to make the implementation into some hairball scheme unique to NQ that only halfway works, instead of carefully considering why and how those features are made to work in other games.

I get the feeling that NQ has always made a point of not copying functionality from other games and instead make their own unique solutions. With limited success I might add..

You keep skipping past all the entry level content, right to the most profitable and hardest thing.  And then you try to do it with no research, planning, or effort, and when you fail, you come here and blame NQ.

I can't speak for everyone, but most of us here are benefiting from each other's knowledge and experience.

There's nothing wrong with listening to other people and letting them help you.  I do it constantly.

If you chose not to, then it was your decision to make the game harder than it needs to be.

The joys of insomnia bring me to reading these posts and offering random replies.

It's actually very easy just to set up a simple T1 mining operation on Alioth and turn a profit within a short space of time.
The expenditure of a higher tier operation whilst it will turn a profit eventually, it will take longer due to the abysmal prices at the moment for higher tier ore.

I for one much prefer the current system to spending hours, days and weeks digging in holes. Once the operation is setup I can get on with other things in the game.

I get by your recent postings that you're doing that thing we see from time to time where you're disgruntled with the current systems and rather than adapt or not play, you're venting your frustrations with multiple posts.

Did see people for the first time at several marketplaces; but they were tellingly only vultures picking over the remains of the former player base.

Not gonna lie OP, this tastes like copium. Having played Elite: Dangerous for 7 years (another space game with huge pontential) and see it fall short of goodness (not even greatness) every single new content release, I am not holding out hope for this game. To draw parallels, both the release of DSAT/Asteroids and Wrecks have been very poorly executed, but they still consider those boxes checked, ready to move on.
