Dreamstar got a reaction from NQ-Naunet in Thank you, everyone.
Hello, it has been a long time for me, yet I still follow news of this game and communities progress.

I want to say thank you to the developers that work tediously at their stations to create the very medium by which so many stories and tales will be told.

Thank you to the supporting staff that help us with our issues on the forums, responding to tickets of all sorts of issues, be you paid or a volunteer.

Thank you to the guild leaders that have carried on through the years you've done a great job keeping people interested in the game as well as constructing mini communities that keep people active.

Thanks to all you independent contributors who endlessly pick at flaws in the rules, scratch your brains to conjure up new ideas to suggest, and keep the world of ideas turning.

Thanks to the artist's that have drawn and rendered great art works.

Even thanks to those I have clashed with in the distant past when I was active here, you've gone on to keeping people active and make it a better place when I could no longer do so. I hope all you old friends and frenemies are still doing ok regardless of who you were or are now.

Really, good job to everyone, working on the team or just a fan of the game. You should be proud.
Thank you very much for the efforts, contributions, and trying so hard.

I want to say to you all, that even though there are many heated conversations, debates, arguments even, that you are still apart of the community which is Dual Universe. You are all connected in a great web of activity and even the guy that just tricked your group into a bad deal, the guy you just argued with for 6 hours about your' org's policies, the people you just dusted in pvp; you're all brothers and sisters in the Dual Universe. I tried to think of a less corny way of saying all this, but really all that matters is I'd like to see everyone smile more, and be a little less hard on each other. Have a nice day.

Yet, big orgs (who indeed bounce back) not only meaningful entities in game. And not only voices against.

Actualy, its reasonable to say, "middle class" people (ironicly as in typical IRL problems) will suffer worst -- all active solo/small group players, both old and new, who tried to relativly keep up with big guys by hard work and preparing some reserves for future. They will be completly gutted, but they obviously have much less "staying power" and "raw muscle" then big orgs to go back in action and many will be feeling extreamly exausted and even cheated of their hard earned assets.

Per example, by local millions and kilotons of ore standards I relativly "poor" and usualy deeply frown upon hysterical "i will quit" things as argument... But to be super honest, if they wipe like before "release", deleting all ore I mined (and other work done), I will very seriously consider if I want to play DU again and re-invest all this time. Just no more stamina. On personal level.

NQ obviously made chain of insanly bad and unresponsable choices (with JC sometimes barely understanding how his game really played, living in world of fantasies in a way), that poisoned game and now we all paying price (generaly in both cases of non wipe scenario and wipe scenario). Its just difference between slow "necrosis" damage and shock bloody fountains damage.

I really don't know how they can repair it. All options are just tormenting lesser evil things (that a quite not lesser).

I said it on YouTube and I say it here too:

Not sure I like bew content/minerals/whatever bring hidden behind such egghunts/events. Only a fraction will participate and only a few will do it. If it's unlocked for a wieder audiance later on anyway, why do it in the first place then. Just do such cents for fun but not to unlock new content. Its only there for 24/7 no lifers and splits playerbase.

Dreamstar got a reaction from Ever_green in DevBlog: Resurrection Node Mechanics
Hey Jared, very fascinating, you've got my gears winding up now  :3

I believe the charge element refers more to a constant supply of electricity, like you say though, maybe the device could store several ready-to-go respawn charges before needing more electricity.
Think if a spy sneaked in and cut the power cord somewhere. Instead of simply destroying the R-Node because the spy, or the spy's guild can capture it later for its wealth.

The way it works is simple: you first need to set up the node, except the one of the Arkship, which is always ready to use. A Resurrection Node is a power hungry machine (remember, the beast is twisting the fabric of the quantum multiverse space-time topology

What is -possibly- happening is this machine somehow monitors for your death, and it is able to save your fundamental 'spark' your consciousness whatever it is that makes you, you, it doesnt care about your memories or knowledge per say, just saving the core essence.
In the regeneration of the body, it eats a massive ammount of power to distort the fabric of time-space to make a copy of the past, or even a seperate dimension. and puts "the you from 5 seconds ago" into the world, as it is reconstructing all the particles, it dumps your 'core spark' into this new body.

That body may or may not have built a Super Duper Proton Gun last week, or it could be a body from 5 days ago that never learned Herbology level 3. It might be a body from a different, nearby, dimension that didnt build any body armor.
    just speculating though.

Dreamstar reacted to Warden in Project Tortuga
Many areas will likely face this problem. In an ironic way, even safe zones aren't fully safe: yes, a city, district, station, building might be protected. But the zone eventually ends. Attackers can roam the areas on the border of any safe zone.

But I mean Tortuga even has dedicated security, police and military orgs to defend it so I guess they will do notably better or be better off than other areas or zones. Here, you have a big(ger) pool of personnel to put into dedicated security roles.

If you are a raider out for quick profit, why bother if you can potentially get smashed fast when there is other weaker targets? As criminal, do you want to mess with big parts of the community or in the sense of the founders, other outlaws and pirates?

Tortuga will see a fair share of events and maybe even action. But it should, by my guesses, be better off and relatively safe.

And if external threats become a problem, you... scale reactions accordingly.

Dreamstar got a reaction from Bagra4u in How do you see the "Guild" concept today?
Guilds aren't dying MMO's have a disease. Theyre all trying to be the next 1,000,000 active subscription game but nobody can tell you what the masses of people wanna play pokemon? duke nuke em online, who knows?

A feature I like here in Dual Universe is the legate system, it makes shares of ownership of a guild available and if i understand correctly there will be "voting" on guilld policy.
All you need to do is give players the tools and freedom to shape the mold, give us the clay and well make our own pottery. dont give us bananas we cant make a nice vase out of that.
The ability to have a direct democracy, a strict corporation, an elective monarchy. give us that ability to use voting and dictatorial method's.

the climate of games has changed greatly, theres many hundreds of thousands of more people willing to play MMO's now. They are catered to many varrying tastes people in general are more acclimated now to get instant results resulting in the game hopping and guild hopping phenom. Many guilds especially small ones are viscious and desperate to compete against the ever growing trend of mega guilds they lie in recruitments about membership and activity just to try and get people. Players join a guild and see 10 people of only 3 online and leave instantly.
Ive had small guilds with 15 players in and 15 players out per hour. if they stayed it'd been a mega guild in no time, but people make a decision in 5 seconds.

I know many people suffer from the plague that is games today, and make these brash statements like guilds arent what they used to be, people have no loyalty, and on and on the same line . It really stems from the games that are out today they aren't fun to begin with!
The example of ArcheAge ,right okay, archeage a game that seemed well designed to get people to play together. Except it didnt feel like you were playing with friends for common goals you were FORCED to play with other people if you wanted to or not FORCED to rely on other players for Gathering, Crafting, Turning in Trade Packs.
The game had a massive burnout factor largely because of the community, the leads of guilds in games like this, games that require tons of Micro Management, tons of attention, and Rule by an Iron Fist (Because there are no voting mechanics built in).
They are usually low income workers with lots of time on their hands. Its not an insult dont get me wrong but its Fast Food workers, High school kids, College Peoples, they have a good spirit and want to do something big in the game but the task of running a 300+ person guild knowing everyones name, sorting the drama, crushing internal rebellions, and promoting the guild as a good name ALL rests on ONE person who isnt accustomed to regulating such a bureaucratic system. At best they delegate some of this responsibility onto their Inner Circle and make their friends officer's.

Salvation is waiting for all among the stars

The Order of Meru, otherwise known as "Meruism", is a religious order dedicated to searching for salvation among the stars.

"Salvation" and "Paradise" being terms that are used interchangeably within Meruism.

To become a priest of Meru means to sacrifice oneself for the betterment of humanity by embarking on a pilgrimage across the galaxy to be among the first to lay human hands on worlds most can only look to the skies and imagine being on.

Meruists believe that somewhere out there among the stars is a place of pure bliss, where darkness never consumes light. A place of unimaginable riches for the soul. A place they call "Meru".

They believe it is humanity's destiny to spread out across space and time, as one of the keys to unlocking the gateways to Meru is to establish a universal human consciousness. In this way, it is important for every Meruist to practice meditation in order to empower the universal consciouness they seek to grow.

In the same vein, Meruists stand to oppose all who might get in the way of establishing humanity's universal consciousness.

Meruists exists in all walks of life, from the highest offices of nobility to the pirate guilds waging war on the trade routes across space.

Meruism is a philosophy and way of life.

    : April - 2427 - Earth :
: Luz - Located in what was Colorado within the former United States - Known for Heavy Luminous Influence in the region :

Katherine kept a pack of menthol cigarettes hidden away at the bottom of her purse. She let no one in on her dirty secret. It was only in times like these, stuck in line waiting for the next shuttle to the city, that she would dig one out, look cautiously around for any familiar faces, and let a nicotine buzz ease her problems away.

The line began to move again. She dropped her cigarette without putting it out and sprayed a dash of Burberry Brit, practically as valuable as liquid gold, on her neck. Even the closest loved ones to her were unaware of the secret habit, something that would become a recurring theme in her life.

Her boyfriend Greg, a label he self-applied in a drunken haste, gave Katherine a hug as she walked into his apartment. He was too caught up in his own elation and eagerness to return to his work to notice the lack of emotion in her reciprocated advances. Over the past few months Katherine felt as though she was forgetting who she was, and in doing so had forgotten why she loved the 30-something-year-old artist holding her now.

She could dye her hair again, that was her typical response to these fleeting moments of emptiness. 'No, that just won't work this time', Hiding her discomfort as she kissed Greg on the cheek. "I'm going out tonight", barely giving him a moment to say goodbye before the door was closed and the apartment was quiet again.

That was the last time he saw or heard from Katherine.
