I dont know if this is already available but i thought the simple task of placing trees shrubs etc down to provide both camouflage and nice scenery would be a plus.

This may/maynot mean that to place a tree you may have to 'mine' a tree beforehand.

How will you make this permit?
How can your police check it remotely or even on demand?
How will they know the vehicle being piloted is one of the bazillion possible vehicles in DU?

I would assume that market terminals themselves will have access rules, just as cores have currently. They may also be controllable via RDMS rules.

The simplest solution will probably be to setup 2 terminals, one for the general public and one for your internal org members. That way you can set different prices and tax rates easily.

Good points made by above posters here. Just be patient and persistent as you start to recruit. But your biggest hurdle will be retention, and keeping things energetic. With the current state of Dual Universe, I advise finding games that you can rally your members behind. The community aspect of your group is more important than anything else, as that is your core. However, recruiting from DUs community right now will be a hard venture as the barrel is a bit empty.

You'll have better luck pulling in new members from other games, which is something BOO has been doing for the last two years. I believe half our member base come from games like Conan Exiles, ESO, Eve Online, Planetside 2, and a few others. It brings in new people to Dual Universe, and you can grow your own community while having fun at the same time.

No, your pledges are not wasted and were totally appreciated during the Kickstarter campaign.
As Iron Founders, you will have two months of play time at the official release (the game itself being free, you won't have to buy it). You will have also some exclusive Kickstarter rewards.

While Silver Founders and above getting automatically some perks from the most recent supporter packs as mentioned on this page, we are also planning to give something to our early backers with an Iron or Bronze status. Just be a bit patient, we are not forgetting you, and we still (and will always) greatly value your early support

    Best Regards,

Sorry 0somehing0, NQ has stated several times it will quash unfair AI/Automation codings/exploits to provide balanced game play, it has nothing to do with others forming a Jihad etc to enforce what NQ has already said.

Yes, your construct snapshot/blueprint is always yours, unless you delete it.

There will be a mechanism to make copies of the blueprint, or even trade the original blueprint - keeping in mind that once the original is gone, its gone.....

Nopes, see above. (though there is nothing stopping you from making another blueprint from the original physical ship )

There has been talk of automated 'factories/machines' of some sort that will be able to do so while you are offline, so yes.
Either is possible. You can get a blueprint, put it and materials into a manufacturing plant/machine and have the item be created after a set amount of time....

    or

Use/buy elements like engines, consoles, fuel tanks etc, to build your own ship voxel by voxel.
No automation in DU, zero, as these are tasks left to players to keep them busy and not give advantages to single players that could swing an individuals powers in a large magnitude compared to others.

If you want to protect investments then get some friends to play with, or, stay in one of the many safe zones in game

All of the above has come from NQ videos, devblogs, and statements in these forums.

    Hope that helps

You just log onto the one international server.

Yes, we assies will have greater ping times, just like we have greater chance of spider bite death, but, thats life

I dont know what you mean by demonstration. The game is currently in pre-alpha, meaning the game is in very early development. (Lots of videos on youtube and more to come when the NDA drops). I opted for the Alpha 1/2/Beta deal, which I expect to be able to use by years end - at a guess)

When 'playing' any of the alpha's you really are a tester and need to have that mindset as its not going to be a fully fledged, nor bug free, game at those points.

The beta will be more along the 'play a game' mindset. So if thats you then simply pony up for beta access for when it does get released, once again, my guess is at the earliest late 2019.

Remember that right now this is a game in development, not something you can 'just play'. Knowing this will enable you to make the call of what option you will want to take. (For example I couldnt cost-justify going pre-alpha, which is why I didnt, I just went for the next level down )

Either way I am sure we will meet at some point, in game, in the future

CoreVamore reacted to The_War_Doctor in Subscriptions and DAC's: Can You Afford Them?
Not only this, but the fact that you will still train skills while offline. the metered system wouldn't work at all when you take that into account. The DAC and the way skills are planned to be trained make it so someone who cant play 15hrs a week to gather resources because they are working is able to supplement that with the use of DACs on the market. That is imo what Plex/DAC and similar systems are actually for. If you get on 10 mins even at the end of your skill training timer...you arent falling behind someone in skills, even if that person is playing 1hr for every 10mins you play

    Greetings adventurers!

Hopefully I will have access to the beta after the next round of crowdfunding kicks in. Until then I will monitor what goes on here and with the official DU video's.

As you can guess I'm from Australia so looking for other Australians to hang with.

I've built in Second Life and was an industrialist in Eve Online. DU is the perfect combo of these two aspects for me. (Though need to learn Lua to bring my creations 'to life'  ).

I'm also running on Ubuntu Linux - so that will also be a goal of mine, getting DU running under Linux using WINE.

So hit me up if any of the above sounds like we can work together.

    I disagree with this.

If you really wanted the land you would have claimed the territory for yourself.

In DU you take the chance of losing everything on that land if you dont.

The mechanism isnt a weapon at all, but if you take the risk of not claiming the land you are on, and someone else claims it, then you just lucked out.

You take your chances, you roll the dice, and see what unfolds.

Naturally, you can always setup in a safe zone where nobody can touch you - problem solved.
