When you say you're fixing the element stacking exploit, that means that you're making it to where stacked parts don't work.  That I understand and support, but are you going to fix the issue where it's throwing false positives on what's stacked?  Your own refer-a-friend jeep is stacked.  Is that gonna cease to work?

Tragic to make things more difficult to the remaining community non economic based projects like railways, race tracks or koff koff... Utopis... and Huge.

The MU thing pushed to make more constructs that we did not want to have that became unviable to maintain anyway. The explosion in additional cores on the server is not our fault. Well someone did that spam at ION but yanno... how would the new rules prevent that?

How about We collectively donate 1000 cores to a malicious org for a blockade of some space harbour. Pull the core, Rinse and repeat a few times.

Is this disallowed gameplay? Seems creative player content. Seems greify. I like it. I hate it. If anything though it is make work. Why make work?

Striving to limit a game dependent on imagination to showcase itself is a glass ceiling like no mans sky can contain.

Why not exempt MU's? Sure, add a MU operating skill.

Ore Pools are way off it seems for outer planets. Consider we can run multi scanners popping off 19 scanners every 20 minutes or so so scanning a hundred tiles is not unfeasible for an evening. As a result planets that had t2/t3/t4 are readily apparent as no longer producing, even following the "hot spot" and heat map methods of searching.

Ore's are supposed to be more prolifant the further away from Alioth by original design. Now there is no encouragement to populate further nor build fantastic structures, player made markets.

Will you resort the ore pools. Is Are some planets like Locobus supposed to have a 200 ore pool limit? It seems off. It is problematic not to be able to afford warp cells or fuel to start production for this created problem and no new player would be enticed to leave Alioth and Sanctuary with the current implementation.

We need to know ASAP so that we can realistically pick and place our MU's with proper supply chain logistics in mind. Currently ore availability on some locations completely invalidates even having a outpost at that location. Is it good to pull the rug from under the player base more with unknowing?

Thanks in advance for your reply.

    @NQPann and & @NQDeckard:

The element collision changes modified the collision boxes of existing elements. This will cause ship builders who believed they were building ships that were "as nq intended" and sold ships as "not stacked" to have customers come to them reporting that the element list is showing stacked elements. Compounding the problem is that it only reports the type of element that is now "stacked" without giving any visual indicator as to which specific element is considered "stacked". You have told us it's your intention to disable elements considered stacked.

Additionally you are changing brakes so the tops have to be exposed to the outside of the ship (without actually changing the indicating visual that shows the leading edge as the impacted portion that needs to be exposed). This change will cause most ships in the game to become obsolete without major changes.

These two changes are game breaking. Why are you pushing two game breaking changes while also fundamentally changing how resources are allocated, collected, and imposing a 1m per week tax per territory on every player in the game? This feels like the kind of upset I heard from my friends who no longer play the game before the .23 patch went live. Please explain why this is necessary and how you are going to keep this from becoming another exodus.

Well, where to start, maybe with the definition of play:

Play is an activity that is performed without conscious purpose for pleasure, for relaxation, for the joy of itself and its result.

I chose Dual Universe as a game and not as a job.

Here was a text wall I spare you I tried to reduce it to a few points.

If Dementer Patch comes like it did on the PTS server, I will pack my things and go to the Sanctuary Moon.
I will not buy any more ships because I don't know if they will work tomorrow.
Also, I can't recommend the game or rather the working simulation at the moment.
I am annoyed that I invested the time and continued to play/work after the 0.23 patch to provide myself with schematics.
I will wait and see if the game survives.

Maybe NQ should hire someone who knows about game design.

To all others I wish a relaxing busy game.

For people who have been waiting to come back to this game, I think you have pretty much wrapped it up for them with the airbrakes and taxes.  These are things that should be done at a later time, not mashing in a bunch of changes all at once.  This many "shocker" changes at once is what led to so many leaving the game during the schematic debacle.
Mining unit idea is great, as it is on the roadmap and creates something new.  Work with that.
Voxel change... good, and I hope it works.  In theory, should reduce lag and improve performance.  Those two alone should keep your devs busy for months with the bugs likely to come about.  However, the taxes and airbrakes, will definitely reduce the lag as more players leave, and no way old players, like myself, will be returning.  Players are going to be busy enough having to dig out their structures as it is!  Having to rework or even scrap current ships due to the airbrake thing is not a way to keep players.  Implementing taxes on our territories on top of all of this?  Are you serious???
Please reconsider this.  Add things to do rather than penalties and nerfs.  Taxes on territories should be a release time "tweak", not a named patch feature.

Why don't you add some Mining Units in the Markets for those of us without access to our Factories? Having to make them first is a bit of a pain when we have Mega's to mine out and what we should be testing is how badly the Mining units are going to perform and how ridiculous the Taxes are going to be! Of course we'd need a working ship to go buy them but............. words fail me (non expletives that is)

A little less cavalier, less cheezy, more poof. The current meta will not win subs.

Disabling brakes on first of two weekends to test, to locate terrain issues to report on lands, breaking space factories, eliminating income from minining until paywall is breached.... risking everything on a not so entertaining meta minigame that will never provide enough resources for a modest personal factory.

Referral subs on hold times five gang.

I want to voice a strong agreement with this post and add the atmo brake change will be disastrous to nearly every ship. Something like this needs more time and socialization.

Ok, usually i am not negative but the balance of Demeter on the PTS server has some severe problems.

    1. Territory costs of 1m per week:
this will lead to almost nobody claiming any tiles any more outside of the sanc moon unless the territory can produce some serious income. so all "player made content" will disappear after some time

    2. Scanning results do not get deleted and show l/h for mining units
this will lead to ALL really valuable tiles being claimed within the first 24h after demeter goes live, as it is really easy to identify  the most powerful tiles for mining units if you have containers full with scanner results.
so after day 1, the fun is over and the "mega tiles" will be claimed by those players/orgs that have all the existing scans.

NQ, as demeter is balanced on the PTS, it would kill the game if it goes to the live server

    - New players some days later would not have a chance to find income opportunities despite missions.
    - earning quanta will be a lot harder, so people would stop spending.. this would kill industrialists workflow.
    - the imbalance between experienced players/orgs and new players would get worse and even more players would demand a wipe or simply not enjoy the game

    please reconsider your decisions.

    Hagbard.

I came to the PTS to test auto mining for you and can only use 1 charge then have to wait 3.5 + hours to use another?

This doesn't seem a good way to test the autominers, we could have started with the max amount.  I also messed up the calibration so now I can't activate any other auto miners.

While I don't disagree with the changes to Airbrakes, can you explain why Demeter is the time to implement this? A time where we are all already experiencing a game changing shift in the way we will play Dual Universe, with entire systems being implemented and changed, why would adding an previously un-announced change that will go and cause the majority of constructs to not function properly, be something you thought should be included with Demeter?

I dunno, getting ahead seems a good reason to be a kickstarter  Seems like a nice payback for alpha/beta woes. This will be better than Earth and Beyond cause we got the /emotes already. We need to be able to keep BP's and points imho. So we at least know how much effort to put into creating vaporware.

I seem to recall JC saying there wouldn't be a wipe like that cause things were getting to be an investment on the players time. It was a video with some goob hosting. Sorry goob, forgot your name. Someone prove me whong so I don't have to look it up?

In the meantime, there will be things we want to rebuild for anyway (as in ships docking / nerf hosed a lotta peoples designs:ex).

In the past I disliked discord, but for this sandbox I approve as evidenced by results. Twice I needed a hand, (missing sanctuary element) and received a fix within minutes. The ticket system takes longer but it is maintained well too.

Resistance to discord is a futility rewarded by longer self flagellation. It hurts so good ya.
