    I think it would be pretty neat if they add an interactive table of elements into the game. Something in your HUD perhaps? You know, the kind that lists all the elements that exist, along with data (specific gravity, melting temperature, natural hardness, etc.) and production stats, (alloys, uses, wear resistance, etc.) and their data (as above.)

    Looks like a good option to me! Simple enough to remain legible as a tiny symbol, and unique enough to be easily distinguished from any normal letters.

    Thanks for the input Aetherios!
    I had originally considered putting "Duals" on the list, along with "Dualers", but decided against it because those words sound virtually identical to "Duels" and "Duelers" both of which produce a very different picture than what is intended.

    Of course people will call themselves and others what they wish, Shynras. This is meant as a "community brainstorm" for a generalized reference. Nothing is stopping you from referring to yourself as part of an organization or community, I am just trying to see what others think is a good name to refer to players as "in general".
     
    If you feel that this is a pointless thread, feel free to ignore that it exists, I won't be offended.

    Make it the greek symbol Psi (used essentially to denote quanta in real life - I know - not exact but close enough).
     
    Maybe it's like an open at the top O drawn counter clockwise with the top right then dropping down straight through. I'll edit later and show examples as I'm on my phone atm.)

    I do not plan on making it to scale of Atlantis, but a small base with engines I can move around, designed to be able to add elements and make it bigger as the org grows. In the end it might be just as big, maybe bigger

    At the GDC event, JC said the in-game currency would be Quanta. As in, the plural form of Quantum.

    So, as you can probably tell from the name of the topic, is there currently a confirmed name for the in game currency? I feel like this information(if it exists) should be more widespread as currently I see it refered to as many different things, even by myself.
     
    Also, if the all seeing all knowing replies section does not know of any definitely confirmed (citations for sources please), may I suggest that as a community we start referring to the currency as GALACTIC UNITS (or units for short). If this post gets enough up votes which would suggest that we do need to decide on a currency name if one doesn't already exist, I will put a poll out on the forums with suggestions for the name, and let the community take it from there!

    People in Russia are called Russians, those in France are French, and people from America are Americans; but what should people in Dual Universe be called?
     
    "Dual Universians" is kind of immersion-breaking, since it is nothing other than the title of the game itself.
     
    So, what do you think?
     
    If you have any suggestions other than what is on the poll, please feel free to suggest them!
    I will try to keep up with this and post any other REASONABLE options on the poll. I will not be putting up anything I think is offensive, or if it is just pointless. (like: "name-of-my-organization"-ites, or "I-like-space"-ers.)
     
    Other than that, let's hear your thoughts!

    I like both colonists and arkers.
     
    And you shouldnt look at this question as coming up with an in game term. Its more in the sense of how to call a DU player outside of the game.

    Well, we could use the Arkship's name, (which was Novark, if I remember correctly,) and be called "Novarkians", "Novarkites", or "Novarkers".
     
    But honestly, none of those appeal to me.
     
    What about the galaxy name? Does anyone remember what that was?
     
    You know what... I think I will start a thread on this, it is a pretty important subject!

    Probably true. But we really do not know much about how the c vs c will work, We might not be able to target such a exact point so it might be safe to just patch it up.
     
    Having the ability to make backup CU could spruce up ship pvp a lot. I definitely support that idea.

    Sometimes, sparing people can net you rewards (or being spared) in the future. You can never fully (with absolute precision) know how things develop depending on your actions. The favor could be returned later by the same or an associated party is what I mean.

    I think the transporter should be able to steal the cargo, but there should be consequences for doing that.  The consequences, however, should be determined and enforced by the social structures the players create, not by the mechanics of the game.  To me, this is primarily a game about building a civilization.  That means the game must allow problems like this to exist, so players can try to find a way to solve them.
     
    The conditions of the job, including who takes the risks and what happens if the cargo is not delivered, should be determined by the transporter and the customer, or by the organizations they belong to.  Having the solution built into the game would probably be more effective, but to me, much less interesting.

    exactly - that's gameplay.
     
    Don't assume that DU will organize everything for you - do it yourself. This is no standard mmo with generic and completely safe mechanics.
     
    I expect them to use a system like in eve: set that contract up, get collateral, wait for delivery, pay the trucker and give him collateral back - so far it's all system based.
     
    now to the fun part: emergent gameplay (it never gets odd to mention that one)
    the trucker then has to calculate risk/reward, hire guns, do whatever he needs to do to deliver that cargo. That's part of your job. Will there be an intelligence network for truckers? If someone starts and runs it - why not, do it. Will they know who to avoid and who will most likely rob them? possibly - find it out yourself, talk to other truckers, make a discord or whatever.
     
    Game mechanics (and the vision NQ has for the game) are there for a reason - understand them and USE them. No one hinders you to do the EXACT same thing as a pirate (intelligence, bribing, hiring,...) with one difference: you defend yourself with that. The pirate doesn't have any advantage - and you shoudln't either

    As far as not knowing who robbed you of a shipment, or who set them up to it: don't assume that pirates will be the only ones making use of intelligence networks.
     
    Plus, we haulers will communicate with each other, and if someone seems to be a common denominator in having shipments robbed, or attempting to be robbed, well......

    Yes indeed, there are many possibilities for punishment depending who committed the crime, the severity, even how many times the crime had been committed.
     
    A long term alliance member might get a warning, followed by a fine for a second offence, followed by being kicked from the alliance. A new member might get kicked in the first offence. A friendly might just get banished and downgraded. On the other hand a large scale smuggling operation may lead to war.
     
    At the same time it is a game. Death isn't the end of the world, so the punishment could easily be death plus one of the above.
     
    Perhaps the best way to police your lands is to assign all trusted individuals with a bounty hunter tag. Then if there's a way to apply automatic bounties to anyone who breaks the law, you're set.

    What if thrusters created a damage cone that affected the ship itself.
     
    That way you could hide them but when you used them it would blow a hole in the ship?
     
    If they caused damage to other ships too it could create some interesting combat.
