    @Alsan_Teamaro there are already 8 types of ships flying, however the details are still classified. More info and more designs coming soon.

    @Captain Jack Customer satisfaction is a top priority. There will indeed be some form of warranty as well as maintenance, repair, and logistics services.
    But of course the exact details will depend on in-game mechanics yet to be deployed. Message me for more details.

    So will DU be allowing a player the ability to make a robotic workforce that can do certain task? And if so will they be able to rebel? What are there limits? Can they be used for warfare? How smart can we make them?

    You know the saying - there are sheep (just wanna do their thing in peace, and not have to do a thing to protect themselves) there are wolves (just wanna shoot everything in sight - only rule is what a man can do and what a man can't do savvy) there are sheep dogs (dangerous people that have fun protecting the weak and innocent and hunting wolves)

    Looks like we have plenty of sheep and wolves already, if we get enough sheep dogs things can be well balanced without needing too many silly artificial rules.

    I'm surprised I've only seen the word "parachute" mentioned in two other threads, but since it hasn't been brought up before as its own specific feature request...
     
    It would be really nice to have some sort of parachute item that we could use either when bailing out of a ship at high altitudes or perhaps something we'd use when skydiving into a territory during a covert ops mission or something. 
     
    Preferably it would be something that we'd have control over ourselves, and not something that auto-deployed (because a parachute would be pretty visible, and you might want to deploy as close to the ground as possible to avoid being seen). 
     
    Another possibility would be a wingsuit of some sort...

    true - good point.
    Yeah, as said: that's all perfectly fine. Such players won't be in the safezones anyway, have alts there or at least friends who can buy stuff for them.
    But that's exactly what this whole thing is about: consequences. A pirate might face consequences - he can't enter the safezone anymore with his valuable gear because he might be shot. He has to find other ways to get or sell his stuff -> emergent gameplay. He might even be expelled from the biggest (player run!) market there and the intel- departments of orgs might find his alts too. That's why DU is so interesting to me - because it's all player driven and you have to live with the consequences of your actions.
     
    Same thing goes for a builder/trader too: face the consequences of going into UAs. Hire ppl, find a group, hide, build a stealthy ship, gather intel,... or just go there and test your luck. Whatever you do - it's fine. But live with the consequences.

    It was in general terms, as he wrote "the right to be evil".
     
    And I agree, there's no a question of rights, when you have different zones, to please every styles of player.
     
    The sense of my message pointed to other things, issues of conscience or awareness...

    I make it a habit never to sign up for games that aren't officially released yet but I had to make an exception for DU.
     
    Eve and Space Engineers are two of my favorite games so my normal anti-alpha grumpiness didn't stand a chance:)
     
    I'm very much looking forward to see the game for myself and see what the community is doing with it.

    There are so many new members of organizations! Even limiting the map to organizations that have at least 6 members, this map has 4370 nodes.
    in order to continue creating maps as they grow unwieldy, I have changed the display parameters a bit.

    I rather not see people paying a bunch of money to up every skill in the game to high level in no time. Everyone who spent weeks on skilling will feel shit and its P2W. Just because there could be a market for it doesn't mean there should be one. 
     
    People are already able to use DACs to get resources, which is expensive but if you add skills you unlock the ability for people with thick pockets to get an advantage on every level if they want to. Reason I'm fine with DACs is that it enables people to play for free by being good at the game and it's markets. It comes with a drawback which i don't want to see expanded in abusability.

    I haven't bought any founder package yet, will most likely purchase the silver soon though. I have a few questions i would love to have answered by someone more informed than me, i could possibly find some of this information if i googled it but tried and didn't really find anything.
     
    Do we know if the game will have rotors/pistons like in space engineers. Is the insane flying speed and acceleration we see in some of the trailers actual or just a showcase. As far as i understood there will be vehicle combat in the game, if so, will it work with some voxel destruction or just a health bar. Im generaly mostly interested in making awesome spaceships in an envoyrement where they are usefull, so do we know if the combat favours effective spaceships way more than "good looking"?  
    I realise that we may not have information on everything here but if you know something some answers would be highly apreaciated, thanks you :).

    Ok, old kid married with a sexy kidbuddy, who gave me two lovely subkids. I have a barking kid pet too.
     
    I'm happy to have pledged. This game can be my dream come true and "I want to believe" ® . It is the kind of game I wanted to do when I was a young engineer (this, and Paradox marvellous game engines). Now I'm still working on computer systems as a project manager.
     
    I played in space since Elite ("first of his name") and never really go far far away from this kind of game. Currently on Elite:Dangerous and Stellaris. My favorite TV show is Firefly. But my real drug is persistent singleshard multiplayer sandbox game. What a coincidence ...
     
    DU is a promising mix of Second Life, Wurm Online, Scrap Mechanic and Eve Online, which I played too but they all lack of something. I hope to find everything here (I really hope because the pledge hurts a bit).

    I actually like that idea. Use them to survey the sky to get positional data about new planets.
    Planet bound telescopes could be easier to build, but only yield ridimentary data about those planets like type, radius and possible moons.
    Spacebound telescopes could yield way more infos like the whole solar system, asteroids, possible resources and much more.
    Also ppl could use ingame skills to enhance the telescope or speed up the process, or a guy with certain skills could also solve a minipuzzle/minigame to find new planets.
     
    :+1: for that idea, it could really be a good an emergent way for surveying the sky

    Space telescopes. They could possibly be used in game to survey planets for a base. They could also be used to survey a planets atmospheric composition to determine if it is worth settling that particular planet or not. Space telescopes could be used to generate wonderful pictures of the cosmos and make star maps. They could also be used to gather information on stars, see their possibility for planetary bodies to exist there or not. Space telescopes. A wonderful device for a wonderful game.
