    In that case i think you mean DU has the modules to use HOTAS anda stick but it is not implemented yet.
    Meaning in the true sense, DU does not support HOTAS and Sticks.

    Personally I have no intention on playing as i dont know when or if they plan to wipe. Not going to play if they wipe in a week or 2 kinda deal.
    So my plan i to just set +300day of training an leave the +80mill xp in the bank

    Yeah you are so right, it also has different ranged weaponry and different ammo. shielding apparently is also available but small ammo (aka sand) can get through and accumulates in the landing gears (aka shoes) or outer hull (aka trousers).
    transwarp inhibition also is real in the form of mud and different forms of hull armor have an impact on speed. All in all, its brutal and main cause of red eyes and blue spots as the damage is real

    That sandbox properly also has a functioning open market system and (un)wanted pvp
    plus over powered parental police to enforce rules

    It's been a long time since I've read such a self-indulgent text. 
    The PvP player is not worth more or less than a PvE player. 
    PvE players are not all solo players either, what makes you think that? Likewise, I don't know any players who want to ban PvP completely from the game, on the contrary, there are more players who would prefer to remove all safe zones.
    On the point of too few players and the game dies - this scenario applies to both types of players. There are too few PvE players, but also too few PvP players if you want to keep the game alive.
    What I find funny myself, it's often accused of PvE players that DualUniverse is a sandbox game. So supposedly you only need self-created content to be happy. Funny, because it's mostly PvP players who need content to make sense of their "PvP". Funny, isn't it? Conflicts can be created without content, great battles don't need content, only the will to participate in PvP. You can also have big battles with basic engines and basic weapons. But that's right, then your own skill is needed if the opponent would suddenly be equally strong. That's why so eager to hold the alien cores to secure an advantage there in battle.
    DualUniverse needs more players, whether PvP or PvE players. Likewise, the game needs more content to keep players engaged. Neither the building content nor the lousy PvP system are able to keep players in the game for years.

    Blaze, I know you are a smart fellow and very capable of reading between the lines so please give some thought to the entirety of what I have said here. This is not really about whether today's weather forecast is right or wrong. Its about the attitude by which it is given and the impression that is left behind. Words can affect perception and words can influence others. They can inspire and they can destroy. Take care to choose yours well as one day they will form the world around you.

    That is just nonsense @Sycopata and I think you know it.

    For one, "waiting" to dive into PVP until you can afford losses IMO is actually a good strategy, do not put at risk that which you can't afford to lose.
    Also, PvE plares are not "latent PvP players". both playstyle have merit, can mix to some degree and frankly, in a game like DU specifically for PVP playstyles mostly will need to.
     
    If intended to be a serious response, I'd say that your post mostly just exposes you and how you think of people with different playstyles. Obviously you are entiled to your own opinions but here I could not disagree more.

    @space_man I have identified your problem. Indeed, we did not add the depreciation of the getStatus function. We're fixing it for the Mercury update.
     
    Please report this type of problem to support next time to let us know that it happens.

    Commodities.. whatever functionality that add more grind is NOT what the game needs now. For sure they are mechanics that are needed in a functional MMO, but that is not where DU is at.
     
    NQ should be 100% focused on adding fun to the game before they even start considering more gate keeper stuff at this stage.

    No it is not, it is an impassable barriers that stop players in there tracks, hence the great exodus of 0.23.
    Sure it fits with NQ stick and no reward mentality + survivalist grind fest, but if they want more customers they need to bring out the carrots and rewards. as only die hard fans seems willing to play and that in a niche game.

    Always the same two things around here...if it isn't people arguing about a wipe, it's arguing about PvP. Now that the wipe has received 1500 posts with little hope of answers from NQ, it's back to debating about PvP. 
     
    I don't get why there's such an obsession with tearing down the safe zones as if that's the only thing the game needs. 
     
    Every piece of evidence and history suggests PvP is a niche activity within an already-niche game...combat in DU just isn't interesting to me. It's boring. It's slow. It doesn't perform well. 
     
    I play a good amount of actual PvP games. I'm not risk averse or shy about competition or teamwork, and I do wish PvP in this game was better...but the actual mechanics just aren't developed enough. Combat in this game has very little depth.
     
    All that aside, removing safe zones is kind of a moot point when there's no prospects of territory war. Why does it matter where there's safe zones when there's literally nothing to fight over...? 
     
    Alien cores are DU's only version of territory war for the foreseeable future. Alien cores might be the only version of TW that DU will ever see, period.
     
    I see no evidence that they'll magically resolve the many performance issues around combat, and unless they do there's no way they'll roll out TW universally. Maybe we'll see TW in space someday. Big maybe. 
     
    TLDR: It's great if you like PVP, but IMO it isn't nearly developed or mainstream enough to "save" this game.

    Then why are PvP players crying? You can just as well build your bases in the much larger PvP area and defend them? How many PvP players have their space base in the PvP area?
    You are not forced to build in the PvE area - you can also do that in the PvP area.
    You can build a player market in the PvP area as well, what's stopping you? You as PvP players could create this area the way you want it. Get together, create your own RP rules and then make sure that the PvP players follow them. Build a common pirate marketplace that all PvP players guard. Build your own organization space bases and fight each other. You want to PvP - what's stopping you? You don't need T3,4,5...you can create, experience and have fun with PvP even with T1-T2 engines and weapons.
    It is simply wrong if a PvP player always needs something special to get PvP ambitions. Look at PvE cities, they just pop up without needing to reward PvE players.
    If the outer planets lose their protection, you own even far more, most of the planets then too...and still people would keep crying.

    Get lost sucker. I played this game for two years without ever using an exploit or glitch, did'nt buy the cheap schemata or used any other irregular moves for my gain. And there are many, many more who played within the rules and honestly. i may not have billions in cash, but surely billions in assets.
     
    I'm strictly against a wipe and the main reason for this is trust. I will not pay a dime to a company which breaks all her promises.

    Of course, that's how many games have been structured so far...so it's time for something new. You don't have to include PvP in any game just to make the game "work". 
    You don't have to give rewards or more valuable resources/ore to PvP players who are really interested in PvP just to get them interested in PvP. (So that would not be an interest in PvP, but in the rewards).
    There can of course be a game without destruction, as well as without PvP. Whether that then pleases many or enough players to keep the game alive financially is another issue.

    The thing is that if NQ only lets core BPs persist across a wipe, it effectively IS a full/global wipe and that is omething they have actually said they woudl not want to do again unleess absolutely required (which it is not). SO I'm still expecting a wipe with core BPS and talent points returned to the pool. And I also can't believe that NQ has not yet decided on that, that is something which simply does not make any sense, even for NQ.

    NQ is not in a position to do a full wipe when they have charged subscriptions for two years, they must let what effectively represents that time (the talent points) persist across a wipe.

    The vids of the battle looked very boring though, even more boring then EvE vids . never the less glad you had fun
     
    - can you disable the shield effect (looks ugly as f...)
    - can you change ammo effect
    - does everyone have modded huds
    - how possible is it to battle with a standard ship/lua/hud

    You're going to keep playing, and you will enjoy it. Mandatory Fun! If you don't keep being awesome and testing PVP for everyone than NQ can't get the precious data to fix their servers, it's only been weeks of "fixes", and potentially months more are needed. You will test it. you will like it. Thank you for your service.

    Keep testing. Keep playing. FOREVER and EVER AND EVER! Have another fight for Gamma, you were parroting that it was a great event only a week ago....?
