Noveans, are you feeling lucky? Lucky at guessing that is! Take your best shot with your keen eyes for your chance at some extra riches in the form of glossy gold honeycomb.

Head over to our Fool’s Gold pot of luck located at the Green Hall at The Exchange ::pos{0,2,24.4125,99.1239,120.4460}, carefully analyze (don’t forget to look inside the window), and take a guess at how much gold is inside the pot!

A huge thanks to RyanPryde for creating the pot of gold construct for this event! (He does not know how much gold is in it though! That’s a secret.)

What’s in it for you? Glad you asked.

Grand prize winner: 500 m3 of glossy gold honeycomb

First prize winner: 250 m3 of glossy gold honeycomb

Runner up: 100 m3 of glossy gold honeycomb

    How it works:

If you’ve got your sights on the grand prize, then you will need to be the very first Novean to submit the correct EXACT answer to how much gold honeycomb m3 is in the pot. This would be the exact decimal point. For example, if you think there is 30.03 m3 of gold honeycomb, and you are the first to submit the answer, you will win the grand prize!

First prize winner will be the one who guesses closest to the actual number of gold honeycomb m3 in the pot without going over. Runner up will be the next closest guess without going over (after the first prize guess). Remember, it is the first to submit their correct guesses, so be quick with your counting!

Deadline: Monday, March 20th @ 14:00 UTC (winners to be announced shortly after)

Please use this form to submit your guess. You only get one guess (any additional ones you submit will not be included for judging), so make it count.

    Oh, and good luck! 🍀

    Hello,

First of all, I would like to thank NQ for making efforts to find new solutions to fight against cheaters.

However, following the implementation of the new anti-cheat tool has been drastically impacted the player experience.

We are no longer in Beta, the anti-cheat solution should be tested before being deployed in production.
Almost every time we log out we have the same problem, which means that it is not a rare bug but a recurrent and frequent problem.
In addition to this, there are various other errors.

One of Easy-Anti-Cheat's slogans is "Our mission is to keep games fun. Easy Anti-Cheat is non-invasive and trusted industry-wide. Experience your favorite games the way they were meant to be experienced by complementing your security efforts with established technology and practices."
I must say that my experience as a player has been degraded since we have EAC and it should be the opposite.

In conclusion, the current solution is not viable and only adds one more reason for some players to unfortunately stop playing.

    Kind regards

Yeah, when you can't even have someone build and sell a ship and have someone buy it and use it without issues that's a huge fail for the game.

Hey folks! What's up? It's been a while

Well, today I finally got my Ayaneo Geek delivered, a handheld very similar to the Steam Deck, but slightly more powerful and running Windows 11 natively, and as a first test, I decided to see how DU would run on it (obviously not expecting much):

Zero issues with EAC or anything like that, since it's running fully natively. The only "different" thing I had to do was plug a keyboard into the USB-C port so I could type things faster and move around, since I couldn't get the joysticks to work. It's ridiculously laggy though, I couldn't measure it but I'll bet somewhere around 10 fps or so at 22W (I think I can get it up to almost twice that on charger, haven't tried though).

Anyways, kudos to the DU development team, even though we all know the game is quite heavy, just the fact it somewhat runs on such small device already shows how much optimization happens behind the scenes.

Well, that's mostly it! Now back to my small hideout, see you around someday!

I had 30 construct limit, yes, everything else on default. If you read below, I'm sure you will get a nice surprise

On my second attempt I did increase power settings to maximum (33W TDP, 3A GPU), but couldn't feel much of a difference, the game still felt really slow, so I decided to go and disable every single graphic setting I could (no shadows, no volumetric clouds, no bloom, no chromatic aberration, etc) and THAT gave a quite massive improvement, with the framerates going up to around 30 fps average. It seems the main culprit on that case were dynamic shadows, since disabling it made the fps jump so much

Also, though that didn't see to affect much (since initial framerate was still 10 fps), this time I ran the thing while connected to my 100W charger, along with keyboard and mouse from the previous test. While I agree with Deckard, this isn't a game meant to run in such small devices, it's quite nice to see it working! Tech has definitely gone a really long way.

Here's an updated video showing it reaching the 30 fps mark:

See you all in the verse!

Several people have come together on this idea of having a better ground modification setup. (aka terraforming)
    So idea as follows.
We would love a way to use square ground modification instead of just a circle. (i would say more of a smoothed cube for server performance.)
As and example allowing us to smooth out some roads of have better territories and not so much randomized structure placement because of ground leveling.
    Benefits
1st. way less cores in the world for getting  roads in the game.
    2nd. race tracks!
3rd. getting more realism out of dual universe.
4th. lowering server lag due to jagged edges due to the round tools and flattening tools.

So we asked a lot people and everyone has said the same thing.
Please go back to the 5 headquarter tyles.
So its very very very irritating to not have the original 5 headquarter tyles in the game.
As and example im not a miner but a builder i make content ie ships building kits and other stuff.
I do not mine and as such refuse to pay taxes on a tyle as that would kill the game for me.
However i need the 5 tyles just personally because i dont want my store and my base right on top of each other as that just generates a lot of lag.
    benefits
1st. builders would have more room to expand and make new content.
2nd. the building areas would feel less congested as we could spread out more.
3rd. adds some more options for base building and spreading stuff out to create a more realistic base.

Not an actual bug, but some general feedback. The time it takes to repair a ship seems based on core size with a time of 3h for an M-core. That seems very steep. I get it, it is not a replacement for the repair tool, but still. imho the time it takes to repair should be based on the amount of damage that it needs to repair, not a fixed time.

Also, are repair talents taken into consideration when using the maintenance unit to repair a ship?

Do you believe misleading is not fraud? let's assume this is so. But I personally have heard many times from other people that they accidentally fell for this trick. This is especially true for beginners.  I don't understand why the market is anonymous, let everyone sell goods from himself or his corporation. That would be fair. Whitelists and blacklists are also useful.
And in order to have fewer such errors, it is enough to enter a delay of 1 minute to cancel the operation.

    Hello everybody,

After hours and hours of hard work, the museum is ready for the public.

I started this project because I like our builder community and support them.
The goal of this museum is to display all the honeycomb of the game and give the possibility to anyone to have access to them at a decent price.

Every honeycomb of the game has his own display and dispenser from Tier 1 to Tier 5, for a total of 1382 different color and structure.

I have try to keep the price as low as possible to push the creativity of our nice community one step further.
All the honeycomb are produced in place.
If for any reason one specific honeycomb is empty or you want a high amount of a specific honeycomb. You can contact me, I will do my best to sort it.

You can visit the museum at by using the VR station Atlas Honeycomb Museum T1-T5
Or flying to the location: ::pos{0,2,44.9404,86.2643,45.2091} (You can't miss it, it's under the Statue of Liberty)

Then this post is not for you.  If you don't need a warp beacon, it doesn't mean that other players don't need it.  I make a lot of flights, there are bases on all planets and orbits, I calibrate miners, take and complete missions that are transported by other players. And every time I have to return to my base 2.5 - 3 sous.  It seems not far, but it's 10 - 15 minutes of time. And there can be 5-6 such flights in an evening. A warp beacon is a natural technology for a space game, and in DU, they made a super value out of a warp beacon. Even if there is no plasma in production, this technology is expensive in itself in terms of quantum, resources and production time.

    Dear Noveans,

Update 1.3 is on its way! As we finalize the Maintenance Unit and prepare for its public test session (more on that below), we are excited to share the details of update 1.3 with all of you.

We also want to thank you for your patience as we work towards bringing you a new PvE system in Dual Universe. Our development team is working hard to create an exciting and enjoyable feature that provides the best gaming experience for everyone. We are prioritizing PvE and are working to bring it to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, you can still look forward to other new features (like the ones below), with more details coming on our Social Media and teaser livestreams on Twitch.

With that, let’s look at update 1.3!

    THE MAINTENANCE UNIT

We’re replacing Repair Units with Maintenance Units, giving players more flexibility in maintaining their constructs by allowing repair and disassembly.

    Repair:
You can choose to repair damaged elements, honeycomb, or both Use scrap to repair damaged elements or replace them Choose what happens to extra elements: If damaged elements are not part of the original snapshot, they can either be recycled or repaired with scrap and recovered. They will be recovered if they are undamaged but not part of the original construct snapshot. Destroyed extra elements (those with no remaining repair counts) will be recycled.
Repairing honeycomb structures requires the exact amount of honeycomb missing, and elements still need the same amount of scrap to fix.

    Disassembly:
You can remove all honeycomb and elements on a construct, including the core. The maintenance unit will use its linked container to retrieve all items instead of using it to repair. Damaged elements can be repaired with scrap before recovery or recycled. Destroyed elements (those with no remaining repairs) will always be recycled.

    THE CONSTRUCT SCHEMATIC CONTAINER

Following popular demand by our community members who grew tired of manually inserting schematics into industries, we’ve now added the option to designate a single container on a construct to act as the schematic provider for all industry units on the construct.
This feature is accessible by simply right-clicking on a container and selecting “Set as schematic container” from the context menu.

    UEF SHOP EXPANSION

Looking to buy ships from Aphelia? We’ve grown the UEF shop with new floors and a Blueprint Basement that sells copies of all outposts and speeders. Before launch, we ran the ‘Build Your Legacy’ contest, giving DU builders a chance to be woven into the game by building speeders and outposts for new players. We’ve added the winners to our First Time User Experience and into the Blueprint Basement of UEF stores. We’ve also added four bonus speeders and an extra outpost!

    INTRODUCING EASYANTICHEAT (EAC)

Accessing and manipulating game files is critical to many disreputable players who want to cheat by automating actions or gaining hidden data, for example. To combat this, we shortlisted EQU8 and EasyAntiCheat (EAC) when implementing our original solution for Dual Universe. With the sale of EQU8 to 1047 Games and the closure of their service to third-party customers, we will switch to EAC.
We want to thank EQU8 for their amazing service and responsive support and are excited to transition into EAC. The only change that should be visible to our players is seeing EAC instead of EQU8 as the anti-cheat system in Dual Universe.

    UPCOMING PTS SESSION

Many of you have requested a PTS testing session, and our goal is to open the PTS to the public between Friday, February 10th, at 10:00 UTC and Monday, February 13th, at 10:00 UTC.
The PTS will allow you to test all features of Update 1.3 and help us with information and feedback on the PTS Forum thread to tune the features.
Your involvement has been invaluable in helping us shape the future of Dual Universe. As we progress with development, we want to thank you for your continued support and engagement and invite you to share your feedback. We’re working hard to give you all an enjoyable and immersive gaming experience and look forward to introducing more upcoming features.

    Thanks for playing, Noveans!

I think that the sandbox should allow people to commit fraud within game mechanics, but 0 quanta buy orders are still dumb. At that point you're not buying anything, you're asking for handouts. Jinxed's suggestion has merit, but is countered by putting up a buy order for 10 of the item instead of 10 million.
