If the intended purpose of AGG is only to allow you to hover at a specific altitude,  why not just make it so that's all they do?

Turn it on and you stay at whatever altitude you are at.  Wouldn't even need the 1k height limit.  If you want to go up, you need thrust.

    Am i missing something here?

If they create lift, of course people are going to use them to lift stuff.

Atmosph3rik reacted to Maxim Kammerer in Warp removing any risk from pvp needs to end.
I still do not see the content you are talking about above. However, I just checked the DU page and it says

"From pirate raids to skirmishes to coordinated attacks: space is a dangerous place. With real-time destruction, battleship crews and player-designed ships, this is PvP like no other. Don’t want PvP? Stick to Safe zones and you’ll be fine." (highlighting by me)

It seems you got something completely wrong. DU is advertised with PvP between ships in space and - even more important - with safe zones for non-PvP players.

    DU is also advertised for
"Create entire cities, giant space stations, massive warships, underground bunkers or… flying cars!" and
"Mine. Craft. Build and optimize production factories. Then barter or trade your creations, or those from others. A shared universe means a single, global economy - run by players."
The safe zones are there to protect this gameplay from your lust for destruction.

This is pointless because there is PvP. For the case that you think PvP requires non-PvP players to shoot at: That would be a problem with only 150 of them (even in the very ulikely case that they do not leave the game without safezones).

I just think it's odd that bug reports and support requests are submitted and viewed the same way. Most other games I tested, when submitting a bug report, you get no response or maybe an automated response and then it's done, unless a dev asks for more info.

I don't see how a wipe would be a solution.
There will always be players who will have an advantage.

Why are you surprised? Our very society is based on the monopolies of the few rich and the slavery of all others, let them achieve that here too, ffs.

It is a sandbox, end game is what ever you want it to be, don't be afraid to go off rail and try something new.

(although NQ is doing there best to put rules in the sandbox or run away with the ball )

Maybe it's the maximum speed this tech can handle before weird things start to happen. That's why, for example, space engineers has its limit at 110m/s (if I remember correctly) if you go faster you may start to phase through object etc etc.

Sure....that's why they are hiring more staff and are able to put out adverts on mainstream platforms. That must also be why every day there are new players on support channel asking for help, saying how cool the game is, embedding themselves in the community. You must be right.

Wanting a game to fail simply because it does not give you what you are looking for is not the same as the game actually failing.

If you think Minecraft + Eve sounds bad, then i would forget about Dual Universe and never look back.

    Because that's the dream.

We're only about halfway there, at best.  But that's where we're going.

If you don't like the sound of it, you're wasting your time

Problem is, Minecraft, realisticly, has much more content and variety of gamestyles, then DU. Calling DU "Space Minecraft" is veeery huge compliment currently, even unjust thing to do.

You can create your own Org with only you in it.

And there is a talent that will allow you to place cores with the Org as the owner, instead of you.  When you place a core there will be an option to choose whether you or your Org will be the owner.

I can't think of the name of the talent, but it's in there somewhere ?

You are running DU with a System (GTX 1060) which is set as "minimum requirements" from official site.
Minimum requirements usually mean you can start the game/application, but you wont have a smooth experience.
Below the minimum requirements you often arent even able to start the application without crashes or freezes.

The minimum requirements of No man sky is a gtx 480. So that explains that.

Even though historical context is important, all we can reasonably do is move forward. We've taken our 40 lashes with a wet noodle, and acknowledged that our backers were not wrong.

I find it odd to suggest that someone might be horrible at doing something that literally no one else has done, and that you have literally no idea how to do yourself.

Horrible compared to what?  Who's doing it better?

NQ could have just waited another ten years for technology to catch up to the point that they could make a game like this, with AAA graphics and framerate.

But personally i'm glad i don't have to wait.
