    This will allow for easy ban bait when I offer free taxi and log out 500m before the safe zone with passengers on board and they "transport" my ship by regular game mechanics outside of the safezone and they or someone else captures it. Yes safe zone is supposed to be safe (from PVP, not mistakes!) but as there is a perfect counter for any kind of theft (docking to space cores), everything else is pure negligence and wasnt be covered by the safe zone (before), because this opens every door to more issues. Especially considering other game mechanics and situations which allow transition between safe zone and PVP space will be affected by the changed situation. So since the safe zone is now completely safe from any responsibility and negligence logically (and by common sense) I wonder: Does that also mean any kind of roleplay/ingame scamming is forbidden in the safe zone? Any kind of miner slavery? Any kind of luring people into the pvp zone? RDMS theft protected? etc. etc. This opens a lot of questions for me here, since these things would make the safe zone incredibly unsafe.

    Wait till he finds out there is literally nothing of value to sell here...no one wants a top heavy network scheme, that monthly subs cant even support if each individual user is able to exceed their sub fee in data usage, it's just a pile of garbage no one will want except for maybe some inept govt institution that doesnt know any better

    BTW: a little more info how the guy got that ship.
     
    He VRed there... He didn't fly there on his own construct, there is a public VR on that station. Therefore it completely eliminates any construct manipulations he just VRed there and was running around.

    Well.. had you been with another org, one that has the ear of NQ, it would have been resolved by now.
    If NQ can't fix this then their backend is very broken, this can only be a matter of not _wanting_ to fix it. 
     
    They can see of an account is expired or inactive for a long time
    They can reach out to the person in question by email to verify this situation
    They can add a timeout to that email after which they will demote the person in question
     
    If you were a well known player  with a favored org and made a personal mistake, NQ would go out of their way to help. But you aren't so your are stuck.
    This is not about not being able to assist, it is about choosing to not do so.

    You expect wrong. NQ tried to recover code for Elias in first hours (4-5 h from accident) by their admin technical means. But failed to do so (getting only usless corrupted version -- because some unuasal symbols in code). Actual, only working version was returned by pirates.
     
    Anyway, while I was initialy fully on Elias side in this accident emotionaly, took it to heart and tried to help (even thinking about some crowdfunding for ransom and other shennegians), but it seems level of cover NQ (and all sidekicks) ready to provide in "special cases" beyond all expectations and makes all such worries irrelevant, even hilarious retrospectivly. Muck, they even worked on week end for this.
     
    This "vanishing" of constuct is disturbing. If they dare to ban someone of pirates after this, I will not take it easy.

    IMO the bigger issue here is what sort of game do you want?  Do you want to have a game where people log on and have space adventures in a risky environment where  unexpected things happen, people do good and bad things, create interesting stories which you can tell people about, people lie, scam, steal, you need to be careful and earning trust really actually means something real.  Or do you want a game where everything is guaranteed.  Your stuff is 100% safe if someone says its safe, nobody can ever scam you, everything takes place in walled gardens you control and if someone pushes the boundaries of the game mechanics a bunch of space-lawyers pop up with 10-point questionnaires (with sub-points!) trying to work out exactly where the walls should be and anyone who gets creative runs the risk of getting banned.
     
    I'm not involved with either side here, but personally when I read stories like the Elias VIlld one I think that sort of thing is fantastic and I want to play in the sort of world where stuff like that can happen.  But then again I thought it was a fantastic story when that person stole a whole market but the GMs don't seem to have agreed ...

    There is no such rule in the linked article about exploits clarification. The only rule there is not to get other constructs "parented" to yours. There is nothing about "transporting". Therefore I find it hard to understand what Deckard is talking about.
     
    WTF is "transporting" ? If you fly to PVP and I follow you do I transport you ?
    If you are flying to pvp space and I my avatar is aboard your ship, do I transport you ? Do you transport me ? Should you stop flying and adjust your course because you can transport me to PVP space ?
     
    Writing rules and using loose language is worse than not writing them at all. Sawafa gives a clear examples of what can be done and asks if those are allowed or not.
     
    Their rules say:
    Don't try to make a ship docked to yours so you can drag it to PVP space and shoot it.
    Ok I get it.
     
    They said use common sense for other things, my common sense says:
    if a ship, without any external influence and for whatever reason flies to PVP space on it's own - I can shoot at it and claim it.
     
    This game is SANDBOX with EMERGENT GAMEPLAY. Finding ways to make it EMERGENT is what all this game is about. If the only PVP that NQ allows is that "Event" type consensual PVP, NQ please state it so I know to unsub.

    Some clarification regarding the script:
    We first thought it was some "for profit" project, like that autopilot that is being sold for 10mil a pop and we thought we got a source of it. Pirates know about Rum and yarrrr not that much about AR.
     
    I have talked to Ellas and it seems this is an "open source" and free project that is going to be released to the community so it's "for the greater good" of everyone.
     
    We have a rule in Anarchy that everyone decides on his own what to do with the loot he got.
    After communicating this information(that script is free for all when finished) to my Anarchy folks we decided to give the script back to the owner.
     
    Due to the script being kinda unique (it contains some special characters or something so you can't just copy/paste it) we are currently figuring out how we can give it back.

    We do hop from ship to ship in safe zone. DU has so much to offer to PVP you know...
     
    Yea, we do that too if the target ship is very juicy.
     
    I am SL of Anarchy and almost the only guy that speaks English(it's a Russian org). I was not even there. The price is set by the guy that actually got it.
     
    Why would I hop off ? I find a ship, it is heading to PVP space(as that's what trajectory ship owner has gave it). I sit there and wait for it to get there + my friends can track it by locking me...
    Sometimes it hits a planet or something but if you have experience you can predict it in advance and not waste time.

    There was no "parenting" involved.
     
    Say you are flying from madis to alioth at 30km and do alt+f4. I come to your ship. According to JC: if you see it and it moves, it continues to move.
     
    Now they have a limitation(or a bug) that you don't start calculating physics of the ship you see until you jump on it.
     
    If you jump on it, it continues to fly as it should and will eventually leave the safezone.
     
    What is an exploit here ?
    You left a ship that was heading to PVP space, it got to PVP space and got blown up.
     
    If you dock it to space station(real one built on space core, not one that looks like space station but is in fact a dynamic core) it will stay there and not move.
     
    What's the problem?

    To anybody wondering:
     
    Ellas told it was "docked to station". Some assumed it was a legit station. The station was in fact another dynamic core. NOT A STATIC CORE.
     
    What happened:
    1) He left his ships in space not docked to any statics
    2) One of our guys jumped on top of it with his avatar and the ship resumed speed augmented by gravity
    3) They waited for it to get out of safe zone (the gravity tiled the trajectory a bit)
    4) They blew the ship up and cored it
    5) Some guy comes and starts accusing of exploiting and talking about some code etc.

    Person A joins corp C where person B is super-legate/CEO.
     
    After 2 months person A makes corp K and transfers assets to it.
     
    Person A claims it's belongs to newly found corp K as the assets were acquired during his participation and under his leadership.
    Person B claims it is a corp theft.
     
    Have fun SB GMs figuring this out.
     
    There is reason why sandbox is a sandbox and why GMs should not intervene if no exploits are used. This is only 1 simple example. Let me not get started on how they gonna enforce their "Luring people to pvp space is not allowed". This is just bs.

    explains how AC docked and dragged another ship to space(against his will) and destroyed it:
    While doing so, one of the AC ships slid in close the the SC Orion causing it to dock with the larger ship and took itself and the now docked SC Orion back into the combat zone. The weapons of the three L AC warships blazed to life and the SC Orion erupted into fire.
    This is described as exploit and bannable offence:

    You can build a space capable ship with nanocrafter without schematics.
     
    Cool looking ore miner ship capable of lifting like 1-2kt of ore to space ~= 15mil. That's about 700kl of t1 ore sold to bots with new prices.
     
    You don't have to craft everything yourself, that's not how the game is supposed to be played.
     
    If you want to craft something, pick a single item, purchase schematic for it and craft it 24/7 (buy ore, sell the product). We are playing MMO not single player game with multiplayer option like SE.

    If you want to craft something for yourself - check if it can be crafted in nanopack, if it cannot and requires an assembly you better off buying the built item on the market until you figure stuff out (building stuff in assemblers requires high initial commitment)
     
    Your first aim should be a ship capable of hauling stuff. You can craft most things in nanopack and if not you can buy the remaining on the market. To make quanta, sell ore you mine.
     
    Get off sanctuary asap. Best place to go to is Madis(lots of ore, lower gravity), build a xs base with a respawn point there(resurection node). you will need territory control unit.
     
    Expand from there.

    Yep.
    There are like Empires with hundreds of thousands of players that are currently fighting over delve to have that precious farming spot and news sites covering every week fights etc. What we have in DU ? ATOM trying to create content and have to helplessly watch at people warping back and forth. "Fleet fights" are like 5 vs 5 max lol. Another stupid idea like "madis battleground" in that other thread where people just want "to battle" button at the top of the screen etc. Ha, and of course some stupid "PVP EVENT" like another starwars thingy in "emergent gameplay" game.

    They are a problem because there is only 1 game loop: mine, refine, produce, sell/use.
     
    You can't "balance" when there is only 1 thing, you can't move anything as there is nowhere to move.
     
    If we have NPC missions that give quanta as reward (and remove all the bot buy orders) the problem will be fixed. The ore price will settle wherever it should settle per player market.
     
    NPC missions will inject quanta the same way other games inject quanta by you farming mobs or doing quests or whatever else PVE activity. This will not affect market that much as bot buy orders.
     
    NPC haul missions can have a risk vs reward too, it's pretty simple actually:
     
    Transport 10kt of stuff from Alioth to Madis. Reward = 2mil (low risk low reward).
    Transport 10kt of stuff from Alioth to Locobus. Reward = 10mil (high risk high reward).
    500k "colleteral". If you break the box you get like sand or something that doesn't even worth 500k.
