Nothing needs to be rectified. No one from BOO has ever said our motivation was anything besides interrupting the event. Someone said there was PvP so we showed up. Also if you're trying to insinuate that our group is incompatible with DU, then NQ marketed their game incorrectly. If you're trying to suggest NQ needs to punish us in someway, then you really do not understand the concept of this game.

Umm, I have quite few friends in BOO.  They are not all trolls.  And I take offense that you would say so.  The were going to be my favorite frienemies in game (gotta have someone to fight). 

And even the ones that might be considered as such are just bored off their asses with nothing to do in the game.  If NQ had not sold this as a finished PvP game with wonderful (fake) videos with giant battles going on when there really is zero PvP to speak of, maybe they would not be getting on your nerves.  So yeah, maybe NQ can take a little of the blame. 

My suggestion would be to report the guilty parties to the leader of BOO, Sylva.  if they were out of line, she'll tend to it.  Unless of course you just ruined that option for yourself, idk.

Hello yes id like examples of us breaking actual game rules. We fight fairly unlike some pvp orgs in this game.

Nobody "won." Less than 20 L cores fought at the edge of the safe zone. Every L core that was in distress made it back into the safezone. No significant ships were destroyed. Nobody can do a tally of "economic damage inflicted on the other party" because the game tools do not support that. Nobody can prove "I didn't destroy their ship but I blew up 50 mil credits worth of armor." The final score is 0 kills to 0 kills. 
 
There is something to be said about the cancerous game design of the safezone itself. There is something to be said about the lack of interdiction maneuvers, and the inability to force fights to happen. There is something to be said about the total lack of information with regard to what has happened in combat. There is very little transparency. There is something to be said about the lack of PVP objectives in deep space far enough away from the safety of the safezone for real risk to happen.
 
But both fleets that took to the field on Saturday performed quite well. They fought bravely. Hats off. Salute to the other side. We'll see you on the field of battle again sometime.

Why lie? Almost as bad as AC using exploits to match BOO at the event.... At least BOO can hold their head high and play legit.

Ill help you out. Calling people names like that is a solid way to get yourself banned either from forums or the discord. Ask Daphne. She has good experience when it comes to calling people names. Funnily enough I think it was also our members. 

At this point i'm rooting for BOO just because @iNFiDeL keeps calling people Autistic.

Hello everyone, Sylva, leader of Band Of Outlaws here.
 
This thread, the official DU discord and the Memeserver have all gotten a lot of traffic and I thought I would drop by and leave some of my thoughts here for you all. I acknowledge and understand that the Star Wars fans who created the event feel that we, BOO and some of our allies, when crashing their event yesterday, "ruined it." And yes, Skilo has it right when he says that we did it because we could. Those of you who are arguing against the Star Wars IP being in the game... well, tbh, I love Star Wars, it has inspired more than one generation of space dreamers, and hopefully, many more to come. That having been said, there is more to this story (and hopefully, for the story of Dual Universe). 
 
We originally had someone sign up for the Star Wars event who was building a legit PvP meta Star Wars ship. At the time, I was advised that we were also giving info to the Star Wars group on how to build PvP meta ships, and that advice was generally not followed/heeded. As the date loomed closer it became apparent that the ship, according to our standards, was only about 10% complete, and so our member withdrew from the Star Wars event. 
 
We then heard that ATOM was being paid to provide security for the event, and that was when we decided to party crash it. 
 
The thing is, when you look at what Dual Universe intends to be, a civilization building game - there should, in my opinion, player made safe zones in which events like this could be held in. This is an event that you would hold in the heart of an area that has an enforced edge of space, so pirate incursions would be few and far between (and not be without repercussions). We very much support this. We expect to be hunted down because of our actions. We will be disappointed if we aren't. 
 
We already don't hunt the small fries. We already do not pursue freighters and small ships. We have historically only hunted the larger org tagged ships. Our groups already PvP against each other. We haven't done a PvP event since the End of the World event in December. Since then we have only had solos and small groups go out for PvP, which has still been few and far between. Mostly we have been doing the same as everyone else, recovering from the .23 patch, mining, industry, and building more ships. We got bored. We crashed the party and ruined a lot of hard work, and for what? Some laughs... and hoping to fight some ATOM and some hopefully buffed Star Wars capital ships. 
 
As to the idea of waiting for DU to grow more... you may very well get what you request. BOO has diversified our gaming interests. We are playing Valheim, Starbase, and Last Oasis in addition to Dual Universe now. Don't worry though, we're still around and will still be active in Dual Universe. We will sporadically come out and throw down. So try to be prepared for us. Build meta ships. Bring your friends. You don't know when we will strike. 
 
Prepare for the changes that are coming. 

You make it sound like our goal was anything outside of crashing the event. And again, we really didnt damage the actual SW ships all that much. We just shot up the ATOM body guards. I'd say we helped the community quite a bit. The discord was more active after the event than it has been in weeks. Not to mention some people are now thinking of new ways to avoid it happening again. Deravi for all his credit didn't start boo-hissing after it happened. He said "Heres what we can do next time to make sure that it doesn't happen again". Thats good! Thats content! That is precisely what everyone should have done. 
NQ has no responsibility to protect ingame events. Tbh they have no right to do so. If they want to say that this is a player made game, then this is what they must deal with. And why do you keep bringing up this "civilization" aspect? At no point in human history has there been a singular civilization. All of the big orgs have made different civilizations. BOO functions quite differently from NG who work quite differently from ODY. When territory warfare comes you might even see that become more obvious. If its possible for one org or an alliance to control a planet, then theyll do it and form their own civilization.

This coming from the same guy who said BOO would be dissolved by Beta.

Well I wouldn't do that because soccer balls and basketballs are two different things and require two different courts. This was DU. We all had the same ball (ships) and played on the same court (pvp zone). Also if I did that irl Id expect to probably get in a fight. This event had hired guards and we primarily attacked those. If you don't want to get PvPd bring better guards or dont do it in the pvp zone.

Who will lead forces of light and order in our little space opera? Who is worthy of proverbial sword in stone?
 
I think target audience so starved for some competent "lawful good" leadership, that dozens will flock to fight under banner of such champion, if he/she trully arisen in our midst. Yet, so far most pretenders not succeed and I won't even start on all buffoonery we sadly suffered from this corner.
 
 
 
 
 
 

All of this reminds me of the scarface scene him drunk in the restaurant where rants "you need me, so you can point the finger and say that's the bad guy".  In the end tho this game isnt star wars.  But some good did come of the event, non star wars ships came out and had some fun and pew pewd.   The more pressing issue tho, is after 5 years of game development is NQ has been unable to have any size fleet fight actually "work". One of the streams I watched had the worst bugs and desync through out the whole fight. It just doesn't bode well. And even more alarming is I also experienced these bugs even in 1v1 scenarios. The servers cant even support a 1v1 without multiple bugs and fuckups, and desync.  Sad days.
