This is much better and would have been happy with a little bit less. But 25 was way to low.
As for dropping this during the so called Panacea patch. Is complete and utter SHIT! I was so pissed yesterday that I almost removed the game from my system. This was called the patch we listen to the players, but this felt like we had to try to hide the next way we are going to screw the player. I really do want an apology for all of us for bringing this up the way it was.

Propose something so outlandish and gamebreaking, that the "nerfed nerf" will seem awesome in comparison.

I can only assume the DU feels dismantling is core gameplay like traveling 6 hours through nebula stained space.

    @NQ-Wanderer

    Our organization is soooo effed.
And now, the one, final, last enjoyable part of the game: Building something epic... is being nerfed.

We have spent months developing the area around Madis MP3 despite NQ's best efforts to punish their player base with less and less things to do... MTI and NovaX have created one of the largest cities on Madis and now RANDOM CORES are going to shut down after TWO WEEKS!!!

There is no way we will be able to get our members back to donate their cores to the org at such short notice... Nobody plays regularly any more. They are all waiting for the fun to start before they come back.

You have got to be joking... No sane company would do that to their paying customers.

Interesting, when did the swear filter happen? Is that a new thing?

I guess the last two of us still playing of the fifty active members we used to have will turn off the lights on the way out.

I'm tired of all this. What a complete waste of time.

It is irrelevant discussing how to work around this.

If the current detection system went fully operational, then nobody would be able to trust the build system. And elements would be triggered all over the place when doing normal building using fully legal element placement methods.

So the point is that since it was NQ that created a stack detection that falsely trigger on 100% legal elements that never was an exploit or even an issue, they are the ones at blame and the ones that has to make sure this is fixed before it goes live.

Hahahaha ... this is just comedy ...

I was already at the limit when I stopped playing because as a ship builder I did need many cores, for each ship I showcased, plus the base/showroom itself, then the bloody MUs ... but now ...

    Anyway, I don't really care anymore ...

Here's my feedback in video form, I tried to keep it short.

This effectively kills my ship shop going forward, had just spent months building it up with Skyexplorer and a couple friends in preperation for new sexy voxel tools to make a new, exciting ships- and have a place to display them. Even if we all committed ALL of our accounts and alts, it'd not be enough. and none of us would have any personal cores to use.

I'm officially in protest of these changes and won't be playing much until this is sorted/finalized. This is the only change since playin at beta start that has elicited this strong of a reaction.

People playing this game have to realize if you have not already, that NQ does not care about what we say it is full steam ahead to what ever that saves them server space and in the end costs to the bottom line. This is due in part to some bad decisions or implementations in game that lead to low player turn out or return. For a game such as this a BUILDING game and recognizing the complexity as such but at the same time NQ must realize that these decisions are EXTREMELY detrimental to the player base as a whole and will not bring in new players but in turn drive them away. We have said this many times and yet NQ does not listen whole heartedly to what we are saying. This will definitely drive most single players away due to a reduced ability to build. As some have said here it truly does seem that you want this game to fail.

Element stacking has not been a thing for a hot minute, now and of most recent you can not even place another element next to each other. Oh please pray tell why on earth would you not be able to place one element next to or adjacent another, I mean really what harm comes from this and how are ship builders supposed to have creative freedom to build when you can not even put an element next to another. Stacking is bad yes and is definitely an exploit which we told you all about it long ago to only be told it was not but may be addressed at a later date.

So to sum it all up what does it mean, well from mining as a new player behind the curve unless I join an org, ship/construct building, oh I get a new tool to build eh but wait your taking away the amount of constructs I can have as a single player hmm again must join an org, breaking every ship in the game by not being allowed to deploy BPs due to complexity or the brakes or the number of constructs a player can have now. This is all not going to go the way you all think, yes some will embrace what ever you do to this game but most do NOT like being told they cant do this that or the third in a BUILDING game that THEY are PAYING for.

For the record it says I am a newbie and that I am not I have been playing this game and commenting on the bad decisions made by NQ for well over a year now. I know not as long as most here but that does not diminish the fact that they are indeed BAD decisions that effect us all in this game. They say and promote community based building and want players to create wonderful things in game but then stifle that innovation with caps on cores and organization restructuring. This will not hurt just single players but the player base as a whole will be adversely affected.

Oh man..  15 + 10 cores as the max cap for any player regardless is really not that much and it is going to hurt A LOT of people badly.

Just of the top of my head.
    - The new MU system is eating cores like they are candy
    - Ship sellers need lots of cores for demonstration models
    - Ship museums
    - Creative players often use lots of dynamic cores to work around placement limitations for artistic expressions

Right now the only good thing I can think of is that this will limit the usefulness for making those pesky space elevators. But for big projects like race tracks, player driven markets etc.. oh man they are going to struggle.

And this limit will be a large hindrance for the stability of large community projects, since they will now be depending on the good will of players sacrificing slots and not taking them back again later.

This is going to backfire and drive players out of organizations because they will not want to share their limited construct slots with an organization.

The problem withy more engines is that it will only lead to the same walls of engines but more powerful..

Generally players tend to not build what they need, but build what they can and then adjust their needs accordingly. I still do mnost of my flying with my K-480S and Brute and really do not need more. And I am fairly sure that will be true for many who fly some of the monstrosities I see around the game..

GraXXoR reacted to Megabosslord in Why DU needs BIGGER cores, not less cores...
For now we only have clues: the Panacea announcement included core cap changes, and comments from Deckard above and elsewhere suggest they're trying to reduce load. This quote implies it will only impact solo players and those using multiple orgs... But I have pretty low faith right now in NQ's "we think we've found a very good solution":
PS: This remark that orgs are an "infinite fountain" is also a bit off. Esp. for those of us who just had a single org and expended the 2 mth wait time to max the org specific skills.

But then you shouldn't advertise a 500hp car either, but say up front that there are limitations to building the sandbox. Once in the quantity and once in the size of what you have as a building project.
I can no longer implement my building project - accordingly, I have to make everything much smaller - but then it no longer looks right in terms of the size ratios.

Speaking of 100 core slots, what's the news on the org slot nerf? The OP said "Not less cores" implying that NQ are reducing the allotment of cores.

Yeah, it already does degrade triangular sections or thin slices of voxel within your build cube, so I'd be fine with that.

    @NQ-Deckard

If they can't make larger cubes, how about shaped isovolumes?

    L x W x H
    Cube :       4 x 4 x 4
                     Current shape:
Great for general use, most flexible.
    Shoebox:   8 x 4 x 2
Twice as long, half as high:
Great for general freighters and low structures etc.
    Pizzabox:   8 x 8 x 1
Double the length and width, quarter the height
Great for ground structures, plazas, landing pads.
    Posterbox: 16 x 2 x 2
4 x the length, half the width and height.
Great for roads, bridges and infrastructure.  Could prevent static posterboxes from being stacked vertically to prevent needle towers if required.

Are you serious now? Are you suggesting to clear the server every time, just because the economy is alive? and reacts to the world? Does that mean the price went up or down?

Sir, please forgive me.. This is an absolutely normal situation when market prices either rise or fall depending on demand/updates, etc. So it was and will be in all MMOs before the release and after the release - it doesn't matter, and everyone falls into this zone of such prices - all under the same conditions. And if you didn’t find it, don’t worry, you will find it in the future, but no one will ever wipe it just because someone missed the last part of the game’s history. It's funny in this case.

Ran some tests today adding 2 L rockets (connected to 2 L tanks) to a space only ship.  Timing 0-29,999 km/hr was only a couple seconds faster with the rockets, so yeah, needs some attention, completely worthless (at least in space).

Easily fixed. XL cores cost 16x an L core (in this example). The player is still constrained by the cost of honeycomb making multiple XL cores prohibitively expensive.

[EDIT: Most bases on Alioth - excl. towers - fit in a 3x3 L core matrix. Even the marketplaces?]
