Which is clearly a nonsense and broken system. That an org only needs a single tile with 1L of each of the four T1 ores to survive is clearly not what the developers intended. Sure they don’t count it as an exploit (calibration charges Yada Yada) but it is pretty much game breaking.

    TLDR:
That 10 players can somehow get 200kL of ore per day from a 1L per hour tile even using a single size S mining unit is a stupid game mechanic.

Only complaint I have, is you really should have bots selling warp cells and scrap on the demo server.

Without being able to warp, new players probably won't want to go try out asteroid hunting, or fly to other planets to explore. Telling them to slowboat for 3 hours, doing nothing, is too much of an ask for someone your trying to convince the game is fun. XD

And scrap is needed, if nothing else, so players can see what repairing their ship is like, when they inevitably crash. I know they could just build a new ship if they crash, because everything is so cheap, but it'll still piss off new players.

I'm starting to think they horribly screwed the pooch on their server architecture. Given that Planetside had massive FPS combats the decade before last, it shouldn't be that hard to get AvA going with modern server tech. They must've made some choices early on that they now can't unpick and which are hard blocking any short distance action. All their precision selections seem 'off' to me, and they've made a rod for their own backs with things like Talents that shave fractions of seconds off the "tick time" of some things, so they are required to have very frequent checks in order to keep things lined up as they "ought" to be. The load on the server is thusly massively inflated over what a "good game" really needs.

My thoughts on this topic have been posted a few times so I'll keep it brief this time.  1)  Meteor strikes are a real phenomenon and could be implemented into the lore of why we get surface respawns.  2)  The current grind is too steep for solo players who want to experience anything other than flying other people's ships for NPC missions.

One bit of inconsistency that catches me out every time is that the different categories of things you can build aren't ordered the same in every place they appear. Without logging on, I can't be certain, but I'm pretty certain that they're differently presented between schematics and machines/nanocrafter.

If "we" means those who play this mission game, then yes. But a rich minority doesn't save the economy. It could even make it worse if some of them decide to flood the market with dumping prices just for lulz.

    What am I talking about.
It's not even a question of mathematics.
And the fact that many seem to think like Pinocchio. That money grows on trees. And bread probably also grows in the garden. And cars reproduce by budding.
Of the sources of quanta in the system, in fact, only one remained - missions. Daily 100 thousand is just laughter.
As for the disposal of quanta from the system, there are many more of them: taxes on the territory, prices for schematics, taxes on the markets (by the way, so far a very small value).
Moreover, taxes on the territory are burned by the quantum, regardless of the character's economic activity.

    And then everything is simple.
The influx of quants > the outflow of quants + produced goods - an inflationary economy.
Influx of quants < outflow of quants + produced goods - deflationary economy.
It's even simplified here. Because here it is necessary to understand that not all quanta that have come into the economy will participate in the economic turnover. Quite a significant part will be frozen on accounts, including inactive characters.

I draw your attention to the fact that at the moment we can say that the entire modern capitalist economy is developing according to an inflationary scenario (only high inflation is bad). This is the only way to ensure the reproduction of capital. With deflation, the reproduction of capital is not possible. You are facing a deflationary spiral. That is why in developed countries they prefer to distribute money to the population than to allow deflation.
The game economy is not much different from the real one. Simply because the same people operate there as in the real economy. with the same behavior.

P.S. The inflationary economy is easy enough for developers to control. It is enough to introduce a dynamic component of taxes in market transactions. There, even a change of 0.1% will have a significant impact with such volumes of transactions.
And with an inflationary model, everyone is much more willing to spend money. This revitalizes the market and interest for many professions.

one of the reasons is the market system where you cannot see at once what is for sale per market. Second is that its too expensive to make stuff to actually put it on the market. third is lack of ores that matter for real stuff to craft and last is the lack of actual players since you need a critical mass to have a growing economy

The rate of post release updates is extremely disheartening. We're getting the tiniest of bug fixes trickling out when there should be a flurry of activity... Hello Games releases MASSIVE patches (sometimes weekly after a DLC drop) for NMS fixing dozens of bugs at a time,  with a staff comprising about a dozen coders. And that's on top of constant, quartly MAJOR patches (I believe the latest patch is about the TWENTIETH major patch in six years. So that is between three and four truly major updates per year surrounded by bug fixes as and when needed.

Compare that to this game where every time they release a new feature (and by feature, I mean remove a game mechanic), four other features break.

Still, it only took them four years to release XS space fuel tanks, so at least they're on the ball there. LOL.

I tried to have a discussion with people on DU Discord about this. It was like talking to six year olds...

I asked, "where do the people who make things get their money from to buy ore and for their schematics?"
They said, "from selling things they don't use themselves to people who don't make things."
"And where does those people's money come from to buy the stuff?" I asked...
And they said, "from selling ore to people who make things..."

They literally couldn't comprehend the circular argument and the massive schematic (outgoing) faucet.

No wonder the world is in the current state it's in when people have no idea how simple maths works.

An eye dropper tool would be incredibly useful.  I would love to have it.

I usually copy a single voxel, or a chunk of voxels, of the material i want to use, and then paste without dominance, to use it as a sort of paintbrush.  Saves the step of actually equipping the material.

Not to derail the thread too much.  But what i would REALLY like, is for Honeycomb to be simplified into just the basic materials.  So when you want to use Steel Honeycomb for example, you would just equip "Steel Honeycomb" and then choose a color/pattern from a palette, and then deploy it.  And when you delete it, you get back the same base honeycomb material.  That way i wouldn't have to store 5000 different types of honeycomb.

I know NQ has mentioned that they would like to do this.  But i really hope they make it a priority.

It would make Blueprints much easier to deploy.

It would encourage players to experiment with more of the available colors and patterns.

And i think most importantly it would make the base Honeycomb materials into a commodity that could actually be bought and sold successfully on the markets.
