How did you get this data as this is under privecy law.

Well blaming players and giving al sorts of bullshit reasons is just like we by now know NQ.

This feels like bad industrial practice all over and if this is the way you run a business or the main investor that actually calls the shots i must say its a wonder the business is still running because as a person working close with all kinds of industries and seeing firsthand how businesses need to be run under ISO and many others like it, this is just not professional.

Blaming a wipe that you perform for reducing server load on players while the whole concept of the game is to use your imagination and be limitless in it is a contradiction in itself.

I am one of the people glad to see any NPC element GO as you proclaimed DU would have none and all should be player driven.

But the removal of a single part in the whole closckwork makes the clock stop and my reason of being against npc elements is much larger as stopping bots.
Your whole economic system is build on bots and quanta sinks but now you only remove the generation part and not the counterpart of the quanta sink and by that you just added another limitation and nothing is fixed. By reducing all t2 and up surface ores/minable ores you deliberately made sure only a handfull of people could get them and by god i hope the people that found them are not the same as those who knew by forehand in beta about upcoming changes but frankly i would not be surprised if maps with deployed ores would have gone missing. And by doing that, the reduction of ores without a single moment of testing that system in beta you made a full known risk on release of DU knowingly that the game is advertised as you can build your dreams and be anyone, do anything.

As the terms white knight and black knights come around more often these days, well i was your regular white jedi but by now the color grey is getting darker with every patch with "improvements"

I know listening is not your best point but would it hurt to try?  Or are we getting pink voxels next because that is the communities largest wish?

And if you have to spend your daily stipend on materials, what are you going to buy your schematics with? Since T1 ain't so hard-to-get, whatever higher-Tier you're shelling out for will need schematics just to turn into Pures, then again into Product, and further into Elements. Profit margins are not large.

One of the reasons we wiped your progress, because you were progressing, and it was bad.

Shame on you for using the Mining Units to generate the income you need to play, we should have been taxing you MORE!

Just go buy resources with your 100k allowance, until we decide to take that away, or learn how to purchase ore when you don't have any money. Cause we allow people with alts to mission run billions of quanta a month.

How dare new players have a way to make income without any barriers! Especially to get started in only a few days!

Not our fault you can accidentally sell to people that buy ore for zero quanta, and we refuse to fix this for you.

NQ is punishing and placing the burden on players playing the game as it was intended!

Yet they fail to deal with the quanta faucet of alt-mission running, that concentrates BILLIONS OF QUANTA into a small number of people's hands. Besides can't remove that, or else who would have the money to buy your ore?

So ALT UP if you want to play DU and have money to enjoy it or Leave!

@NQ-Nyota It seems NQ has not bettered their communication skills at all and is contradicting itself again. During a lifestream Deckard mentioned that the T1 bot orders not refreshing was a bug and would be fixed. Now, it reads as if it was intended behavior...

Normally people say that you shouldn't shoot the messenger, well I have some choice words for Deckard and NQ-Entrophy that aren't very nice... And thus not allowed on these forums. But maybe shooting the messenger is a good idea if no messenger will want to go out here and get shot, maybe they'll send in Deckard and NQ-Entrophy as then messenger...

My issue isn't that I think it's bad that the T1 bot orders are gone, I think it's a good thing. But my issue is the contradicting information from NQ that streams forth from it's rotting orfice, that might not be a nice description, but it's accurate... As how else could you describe the NQ communication channel for the last couple of years. No improvement in communication dependability, first say one thing, then another, and finally do a completely different thing! Every time this happens my motivation for playing DU gets a negative tint. I needed to decide yesterday if I wanted to extend my subscription for my main, I finally went with a 1 month extension at the very last moment, that should give you some indication of how I was already feeling yesterday about DU (and that was already better then during the last couple of weeks). If I had to extend today, it might have had a different result... It looks like every week less and less concurrent players, I also see a huge slowdown of new players (new Haven tiles)... It feels like this ship is going down, or is it already sinking and is NQ trying to get as much out of it before it goes under completely?

I will not say now whether bots are needed or not.
    One moment bothers me.
Twice in the last week we have been deceived.
First, they introduced restrictions on calibration, although it was said that this was not an exploit.
Now they write that market bots are not needed, although a month ago they said that they should be updated.
The game is more and more like a scam...
It seems that none of the statements of the developers can not be trusted. We must conclude...

I agree that I spent some millions of quantas to acquire tiles. I purchased a 1L of limestone's tile which worth nothing now without calibration and also bauxite and coal flowers... There is nothing more frustrating that playing a game and changing the rules mid way.. Im kinda tired to be a payer tech tester... happened during the wipe for the release, then the calibration and now the bots.
Seems to me a lack of leadership and vision from the dev team.

Maybe but courier missions are boring and definitively not worth 3 accounts at 10$ / month. You can't just open game's API from one hand and forcing people doing brainless missions/mtu to gain money on the other hand. This game have no identity nor end game goals.

I think I will take a break for now and see what the Devs will do to change the game for something motivating, rewarding and a definitively a goal (yes but its a sandbox, blabla.. NO just building isnt enough). But that will need something better than a simple letter after 2 months to tell us what will happens in another 2 months.. Your creative director should have play games like eve online, prosperous universe, etc instead space invader, we're in 2022 after all.

Only 50 scans? The current champion of bad luck is, if we are to believe them, a group of half a dozen who have made nearly a thousand scans between them of Alioth, Madis and Thades and found nothing over a single digit.  And every one of their finds has been the dregs of others' T2 rosettes, much like us.

That was still "sort of OK" when you could "100% legitimately and not exploitationally" spam MUs... but then a week later NQ pulls a fast one and they all got kicked in the bollocks.

It suffices to say that only two of the six apparently continue to play.

The Effort / Reward mechanic in this game is skewed oh so very far in the direciton of effort.

It reminds me of those tedious Chinese FTP iPad farming games with the icky graphics and eerily floating tiddies... which take ages to make any progress at all... which begs the question:

Are they going to implement DLC?

I can see paid "scan booster" DLC which highlights general hotspot areas for 24 hours, or a "Monthly Tier+1 Mining Booster" DLC which upgrades a tile to the next Tier for a month before tapering off. Excellent value at just 0.25 DACs apiece. Arguably far more useful than a 1,000,000 XP injector DLC.

basically the game is stupid and is programmed stupidly.

So I calibrate. Pick up. Calibrate. pick up. In that order, rather than calibrating multiple times with different machines.

also many times I find the calibration ore doesn’t even spawn at all…. because the game is stupid and is programmed stupidly.

    30% down in one month?
And this is the second month with the same trend.

just look at the rhythmic 7 day drop off pattern. To be frank, I’ve never seen such a regular, periodic drop off pattern in a game I’ve played.
It’s like every Sunday 10% of the player base just calls it quits.  That’s a rate of hemorrhage that should be sending major alarm bells ringing in NQHQ.

The first thirty days were no better.

In Japan, a lot of English Language Schools tout their school as "TOTAL ENGLISH IMMERSION" and "100% English Speaking environment"... They are merely using marketing spin on the fact that their teachers are uneducated, were literally picked up off the streets and can't speak a word of Japanese while trying to make it sound positive...

Programming PVE's AI is hard work. Likely beyond anything the devs at the time (more-so the current hamstrung team) could have managed. So instead of admitting their mistake, they just blag and fob it off as "100% player driven"

I am so glad this game was ment as a "the biggest ORG win the game" kind of thing.
I have nothing bad to say about any org's in the game but i have things to tell NQ.

The org's have done their things, claimed ore spots and worked out the best solution for themself. I have nothing against that.
But NQ seriously you need to start thinking about other players too, new people to the game then maybe have a look at the Solo life in DU. I am fully aware that no one was supposed to be SOLO in DU, it became very clear in one of my bug reports from beta. You we're aiming for groups, people teaming up.

But the problem is, if you don't give the solo player a reason to work toward something, he is not gonna stay.

NQ Deckard, plz work your magic and keep this game alive!.

There is always Roid hunting... of course for anything useful, you risk being blown up.  Thought shields would fix that, but of course, they way they were implemented leaves you to receiving 75% of the damage unless your on your ship and manually tune.  That of course, only works for awhile, but that would be expected.  And, all it takes is 2 attackers using different weapons and your toast.

But All Hail the PVPers!  They are the engagement center of design for the game.  NQ has repeatedly bowed to these players and are now reaping that reward.  I actually supported the concept of a PVP zone, an arena where players could go to strut their stuff, but that wasn't enough for them.

Its all very depressing.  I'm 64 years old and have been actively engaged since early 2018.  I'm the "Pleione" that wrote the 30+ page FAQ I supported pre-0.23 that helped hundreds of people and ate countless hours of my time engaging on the Discord channel to learn what people were having problems with and writing up guidelines to help.  This was suppose to be the "Eve Online" experience that I could enjoy from the beginning and spent the next 20 years, if I'm so lucky, to play.  And today... I see it dying.

Recently spent 3+ hours of travel time scrolling around in F2 sorting my talent queue.  Even after deleting ~100 items I was still left with over 1300 days of training (almost exclusively in Industry and Crafting).  I found myself laughing at myself when I was down to pushing the 7 day skills ahead of the 19 day skills... thinking "I should be so lucky for the game to survive until I get to this point".  I find that sad.  (Let ignore that a single button called "Sort by time" could have saved me those 3 hours.)

What depresses me the most if the lost opportunity.  This should have been a great game.  Too old now for anything else to replace it (If tomorrow "Space the Game" was announced, I'd be pushing 70 before it hit the market...  I'm literally out of life time to see this happen).

Obviously, its because of Dualuniverse - the game - and the fact that I loved to play it and I still like to play it !

But I'm missing that bloody underground mining game. Finding ore using the scanner and these things - I always felt alive, hungry and satisfied when successfully finding and winning the good ores. OMG, like some of you too, I was a freaking mole.

My friends did the shiny part. Building tons of things, which are there no more.
I did the digging and the industry, but that's as well .. there no more.

What the game has become to me, totally cut off the cord.

Steam does not look so good. Its sad, I really wished NQ can do a wealthy restart. I'm sorry for that.

It comes from the perspective of basically any potential new blood to the game, (those not already locked into years of investment like the rest of us.)
It isn't just us as a community being toxic, unconstructive, giving unbalanced feedback, our points are both valid and real, and should not be dismissed.

Even people outside the game, giving it a shot have very similar questions, and conclusions about the game's current state.

In case NQ can't be arsed to click the link: Here is the summary:

A friend of ours landed on a tile with 5/h Limestone on day one... He then just scanned around and now has 13 tiles in total... The ones he isnt using he has locked down with his Alts as HQ tiles to prevent others from claiming them.

Due to the snowballing income from a fixed 20M ℏ a week contract for 200kL of Limestone, he has never had to struggle with cash and is basically set for (the) life (of this game).

It seems like he is playing a completely different game to us, spending millions on schematics every day whenever he needs one... He just casually plays with not a care in the world whereas myself and my org mate who have played since alpha are constantly struggling for the next week's quanta to pay the taxes on our tiles.

Just think, he randomly landed on a T2 tile on day one, now pulls in over 1500L of Limestone an hour (or 150kℏ an hour value at current market rates) and thus his entire gaming experience since that day forth was completely different to 95% of the other players.

What an odd game this is to allow a certain subset of their players to basically do whatever they want FOREVER and endlessly, while other players can barely afford to enjoy themselves and end up leaving after a couple of fruitless months.

Unreal 4 was what NQ turned down at one time for Unigine. During the dev process almost every game announced for unigine fails. It's a great simulation engine and for benchmarking, but it's largely the bottleneck for better performance  and I know tons of people are gobsmacked by the bad performance with modern gaming rigs.

At the time Unigine was the only out of the box offering to do planet scale, I recall the demos when they first announced the engine.

Since then though unreal engine 5.1 has come out, and with it the double floating point precision needed for planet scale. It won't fix their backend server issues, but it might finally give players a stable 60fps with modern equipment without heating your whole house.

Though your point is strong, not like DU is backed by AAA studios with a mainstream established IP. Final Fantasy and elder scrolls are too big to fail. DU is a fun experiment by an amazing French guy with a dream and the idea presented to us without the person is hollowed out version of that in its place.

Billions from selling Titanium? since thats the only T5  that you can currently calibrate in game. And the only thing you can make with that is Mining units, Scrap, and honeycomb.  Now Cryolite and Cobaltite are the ony 2 T4's that you can calibrate with. Which you would need to calibrate 3,000,000l of the stuff to get billions.

I have no doubt that the friends you know have billions of quanta. But I doubt they made those billions by single calibration tiles. Did they make a profit from being able to do so? yes. But they would have made more with those calibrations if they had a proper flower setup.

The only people this change helps is people who where early and got proper tiles setup in the first place. But it hurts so many more people who formed there entire game play from calibration hexes.

I wasn't going to write this post. It was also a post I never actually thought I would have to write, but events since release two months ago led me to this point.

I don't post a great deal on these forums, but I'm an avid reader and professional lurker since joining at the Alpha stage. I try to keep my finger on the community pulse and to keep up to date on updates and the general buzz. I've played since Alpha and mostly enjoyed all the time I've spent. There has been many times when DU has fought against me and attempted to break me down. However I was always sold, like many others, on that potential carrot on a stick of "What if?".

Over the DU development since 0.23 and beyond, the community was gutted due to the introduction of schematics. As updates and patches were introduced to the game, I've watched with dismay the amount of players with high standing in the community, slowly turn on NQ and Dual Universe when they get that stark realisation that this game is never going to live up to that perceived potential. Some go quietly into the night, others announce their vitriol for a few weeks before quitting with much fanfare.

Being a player since Alpha affords me an ability to see the bigger picture of what I perceive has been going on:

If you look at all the updates since Beta started and outside of some balancing updates to PVP and visual upgrades, everything else has been implemented to cut costs due to what I believe as woeful inadequacies at the design and concept level. The vision of this game and what was perceived could be done, didn't match the budget available and the technology. In short, the game that NQ wanted to make didn't match what they could afford to do. Hence, I believe, this is why JC was ousted and the company is now ran by the main investment company (who I feel wants their investment back). The game has had its life and soul gutted out of it, and with every "improvement" it takes another little piece of itself away.

When the announcement came that this game was going to be released, I'm pretty sure we as the community, were in the unanimous agreement that it was way too soon. The game was undercooked and needed a lot more time before it was ready. Any development company who wanted their undercooked product to survive would of released it as an early access product. However, Novaquark is a business ran by an investment company who wants to recoup. Keeping the game in another few years of beta or early access wasn't going to make them anywhere near the money needed to recoup. With no new investment, there was only one possible course of action, throw it out the door and see if it sinks or swims. Unfortunately they forgot to teach it how to swim or provide any floatation aids.

I don't want to be one of those doomsayers who, when they're not happy with the state of the game will immediately declare "zomg, this game is dead!" But It saddens me to say that, that is what I now believe. It died sometime ago when Novaquark realised that under the budget they currently have that there was no way they could afford the server costs to make it work as intended. It just took some of us longer than it should to see it for what it is.

So what is the immediate future? If you look at the current lack of content and updates, all that we're really getting is the completion of the supporter goals that should of been ready on release. Beyond that, as of writing this, nothing, no road map, nothing. No enthusiasm from Novaquark, no excitement, nothing.

Can the game be saved? In short, no. To do this, the game would need a large, fresh influx of money, coupled with a long protracted development time to essentially re-release and reinvent itself. We are at the point of no return though. NQ, I think are running on fumes and they know it. Releasing the game, wiping and increasing the subscription prices and then going essentially dark speaks volumes to their future plans.

I do wish it wasn't this way, and I am kicking myself a little for having to write one of these posts, but I felt it needed to be said. I know this game will still have its staunch defenders (I was one of them) who will go down fighting to the very last day. But this week the game broke me. As I logged in and did my busywork and realised I was barely able to cover my costs to keep the lights on with no real goal of progression any more, my love, passion and perceived potential for the game melted away.

I appreciate my rantings here are purely opinion and conjecture, but if you take the time to take a long hard look at the past few years of this games development, the clues are there. Many of us already know it and made their comments known on the various channels. The tone and overall feelings of the community are at an all time low right now and that should tell you everything as to what the community is currently feeling.

I'd love to be proved wrong, I still want the game to succeed, but my joy and passion, like many others past and present in this community, is gone and it would take a truly Herculean effort on the part of NQ to get it back again. However, judging by recent efforts I won't be holding my breath.
