Like it or not, IGN is one of the most visited sites on the planet:
https://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/ign.com
It would be foolish to drop them as a PR outlet considering the reach they have across so many platforms.
The answer isn't to abandon IGN, it's to work out the problems with IGN so that they stop comparing it to No Man's Sky every time they write an article about Dual Universe.

I don't know why so many songs go so well with this trailer.
- Morand, Captain Jack, Kurock and 2 others

Bored, not much else to do tonight, made a bunch of these redubs. Thinking about how the music changes the feel of the game from the teaser completely:

Playing around with editing this new trailer, it's funny how a little music can change the feel of the whole game:

I'm happy with the trailer, but some of the comments on twitter about it make me want to pull my hair out.

No.

Of course, DU Casinos will be a thing, lol.
We're not talking about running a Bitcoin Casino in-game, it's Quanta. There's going to be other types of betting mechanisms, races/contests/whatever, so it's only natural to extend that into LUA scripted games.

I don't think anyone can answer that without breaking the NDA
But you will surely find out this weekend

Ever take a friend out to dinner and a show, costs quite a bit more than a month's worth of entertainment in DU. I could easily see people buying subs for friends.
Will be one of the people buying subs for friends so they can play. It's cheaper than going out drinking with all of them.

ERRM, no, more like what I'm suggesting at the start of the topic: A cosmetic stamp you can wear, that you gain access to by actually having the skill at a high enough level (or I guess by spoofing it with a hacking skill. I'm in-favor of that sorta thing, sorta like an ID strambler or ID spoofer).
Plus hey, it would be confined to their avatar, so its not like it would clutter people's display.
I would like an arm patch or something that goes onto your suit, something cosmetic that isn't overly flashy but is pretty easily identified once you're standing next to someone with one on. If they had patches or something, I would want them to be extremely difficult to get. The kind of thing you'd get when you finish training a skill that has a ton of pre-requisites and takes weeks or months to finish training up.
If there's an analogy to this kind of system in Eve Online, it would be the skill certificates system:
Something purely cosmetic that players see when they check your profile, something that indicates that you are capable of doing XYZ without having to dig through all of your skills individually. -

it was realy a great game!I was so sad when they stopped this game
You should be happy to know there are Landmark devs backing Dual Universe then (I mean to say they pledged, they're not working on the game).

Well the issue was that there was an increase and sudden decrease in the number of backers, during a period of time when the founder packs were closed (supposedly) . Yeah, from a company claiming transparency I think a general comment on what is going on isn't out of line or asking for personal information.
3Whoa there, I don't know where you've been for the past several years, but NQ has done more than spectacularly on the openness and transparency front. If you think that them having to describe the personal situations of people who may have had issues with their pledges is what is going to define their transparency, I think you're sadly mistaken here.

If you had problems come up with your payment, family issues, inability to pay, whatever, would you really want that announced to the whole world? (Even if they're not calling you out by name).

An old topic, but this is almost expected in a game in 2017.
I doubt it will happen by release, but my money is betting that eventually, Dual Universe will have voice chat. It's just a matter of priority at this point, and there are tons of things people want more than voice (and even more things that are still on the roadmap that needs to be finished). -

I'm looking for a few audio producers for a project I'd rather not discuss openly.
This is not necessarily a recruitment advertisement, but it is DU related.
Please pm me if interested.

I'm sure the limited play time schedule is to reduce the costs involved. To host a few thousand players in DU, NQ will have to rent a block of cloud servers, which costs money.
So once the initial pre-alpha test on the 30th is done, NQ can look at the cost/benefit analysis and decide what amount of weekly play time is economical.
AWS Cluster networking instances (R4, X1, M4, C4, C3, I2, I3, CR1, HS1, P2, G3, F1, and D2) are fairly pricey too (assuming they're going with AWS for the pre-alpha server).
I'm used to paying 2 to 10 cents per hour on instances, some of those instances vary in price wildly from 10 cents an hour up to 13 dollars an hour (depending on the instance type they'd go with).

Unfortunately, it won't work. I asked about this at PAX and I was told that Celestial Objects are special types of objects in the game that are not able to be moved (except planets rotation on their own).
So no, you cannot attach engines and a dynamic core to an asteroid to move it.
However, that doesn't stop you from making your own asteroid

so whos going to dig to the core?
I'll join you, but perhaps not on day one because that's 5 solid hours of digging

Money doesn't equal everything in Dual Universe, the fact that there are pirates that can take all of your work with a bit of coordinated effort exemplifies that.

Unfortunately, it most likely will not look as badass as the water you see on Unigine's demo videos.
They want to do voxel water, but water is an incredibly difficult thing to do right in a game like Dual Universe. In the pre-alpha, water is just a layer of the ground at a certain level, with no effects on the players. They're not going to neglect water though, it's just going to take some time before we see it in game.
Single Shard? LOL
