I doubt this, because i think it's a normal misconception. From my experience, pvpers are simply the loudmouthest forum/social media warriors in every game that offers pvp and pve together.

Can you please make the pitch/yaw/roll speed nerfs only active in space or pvp space?

There is already a check in the game to see if you are in atmosphere or space or even pvp space.
Maybe I am wrong here but I was led to believe that the pitch/yaw/roll speed nerfs were done for PVP balancing reasons.
It seems wrong to apply this nerf when flying in atmosphere where there is no PVP.
Now all of the non PVP players have to deal with a nerf not intended for them but now ruins their gameplay.
I speak for many of us when I say that this nerf ruins my fun of flying anything even approaching 1 kt.
I used to enjoy flying and building large ships but now all large ships fly like a cow no matter how many adjusters.

Please NQ, can you make the pitch/yaw/roll speed nerfs only active in PVP space if they were done for PVP balancing reasons?

I would participate in a sort of gauntlet run.  Fly from some safe starting point to a point deep in PvP space where my ship would be logged on radar, then back to a safe finish point.

Forcing T4&T5 production into PvP zone, removing outer planets from safe zone. All this would be doing is trying to force PvE players into PvP. Which successful games out there which aren't just PvP games have worked doing this? (serious question)

You don't build up one by trampling on the other.

If there are so many people out there wanting PvP, why is it that every single alien core is currently controlled by one alliance, Legion. Are they the only PvP players, or are the others not really looking for a hard fight, but targets instead?

If they are the only PvP players, maybe they are the problem, and they need to disband, so there are more PvP groups fighting each other. After all, there can't be conflict if everybody is on the same team.

I'm not a PvPer. So I don't get the best resources; the asteroids with the high yields of high tier ore, the plasma from the cores. Take away the outer planets, you won't then get to fight me, I'll just retreat to the inner planets. But if you keep trampling on one player base to help the other, eventually we'd get sick of it and leave.

So back to how I started, don't trample on one to build up the other. Build both, help both.

I wish we had a way out of this downward spiral, I don't envy the coders... It must be depressing to have a look at the forums. I mean sure it won't help the game to cut out the feedback, but the endless stream of negativity must weigh one down... Then there is the heat and presumably some crunch on the horizon. We tend to treat NQ like a monolith but I am grateful to the individuals working there trying to make this game a reality. I'll try to login by the end of the week,  it's not easy to login regularly and care atm, but did finish a big sideproject yesterday so it got a little easier...

I will attempt to give a better picture regarding blueprints, what I can confirm is that in the event of a reset you will keep:
Any Core Blueprints in your Nanopack. Any Core Blueprints inside Packages in your Nanopack. Any Core Blueprints inside Containers on constructs in your personal ownership. Any Core Blueprints inside Packages inside Containers on constructs in your personal ownership. If you're the Super Legate of an organization you will also receive:
Any Core Blueprints inside Containers on constructs in the organizations ownership. Any Core Blueprints inside Packages inside Containers on constructs in the organizations ownership. I hope this clarifies it a little bit.

Frank2 reacted to NQ-Kyrios in A LETTER FROM OUR CREATIVE DIRECTOR
    Hello, Noveans!

I’m Cyrille Fontaine, Creative Director here at Novaquark. These are exciting times and I wanted to give everyone an overview of our objectives and direction for Dual Universe.

A game like Dual Universe is a never ending labor of love and ongoing development, but there is a point when you just need to assess if it is ready for a release. After close to two years of testing and numerous major additions to the game, we have decided to prepare the game for launch.

Development of Dual Universe continues at full speed, and we’re spending the lion’s share of our focus right now on fixing bugs, stabilizing the game, improving our back-end systems, and overall continuing to polish the game.

We’re close to deploying a brand new feature that we expect will be a hub for creators and merchants alike to gather and present themselves to other players. It’ll be open to anyone who wishes to participate and advertise their shop, museum, service, or any other point of interest.

We’re also working hard to deliver our promises to our Kickstarter backers that supported us from the beginning. We’re searching for a new shipping partner to deliver the physical rewards as well as delivering the digital rewards through the major game updates of 2022. We’re also implementing an initial web-based version of DACs.

Our team continues to analyze game data and read your feedback to focus our efforts on where we can be most effective, and this means that our plans can change with developments in the game, but looking to the future, I want to share some of what we currently have planned in upcoming content updates for Dual Universe.

Flotillas are a new feature we’re developing that will allow players to form temporary groups of constructs. These will help in identifying friend from foe, assuming your foes haven’t already infiltrated your squad. This will improve many different aspects of group play ranging from fleet engagements, running convoys, piracy, and more.

Another gameplay feature we’re looking to add is recycling, which would enable players to better manage their inventories by turning parts of broken or unwanted elements back into components.

We want to expand PvE with the goal of helping players bring the game-world to life and improving the story in which everyone experiences the game. The mission system is one area of focus for this goal in developing more complex, interconnected, and lore-oriented objectives.
We’re also developing a power management system. A good way to consider how energy will work is to look at how construct maximum speeds have changed. Players must decide how to specialize each ship, and similarly, must make choices on how best to distribute power across their constructs.

We want to increase the quantity of discovered planets and moons as well as new aspects, biomes and gameplay opportunities, and to produce planetoids the size of big asteroids, much like the Thades belt rocks, but claimable as a territory.

One of the most resource-intensive features that we have to tackle is planetary warfare. It brings significant change to the game and, before we can achieve it, we have to bring PvP in general to a more mature state. We know that territory warfare is an important game system to many of you, so continue to help us improve PvP by engaging in fights to generate data for us to analyze and continue to improve the system.

There are also many other features that we are looking to improve or introduce in the future.

Now, let’s discuss the topic of a reset.

We have seen your many posts across Discord, our forums and social media. We’ve heard your frustration and know that many of you are waiting for a decision about whether or not we will reset. Let me assure you that no matter what we decide, you will not be reset back to square one. Of the different options we’ve been discussing in case of a reset, we are certain that you will keep your core blueprints, including blueprints owned by an organization that you lead. We are also looking into which other important parts of your game progress could be kept if we do reset.

Yes, the internal discussion about a possible reset does continue, and it’s no exaggeration to say that this is the most significant decision we currently have to make for Dual Universe. We appreciate our players and your engagement with us, but I also want everyone to know that all of us here at Novaquark are eagerly awaiting the day we can share concrete news with you.

That is all for this message. Until next time, thank you for your attention, Noveans!
Please don't hesitate to provide your feedback here.

Frank2 reacted to NQ-Nyzaltar in Hey NQ how is that Wipe Discussion Going?
    - Was the wipe decided months ago? No. There are still some scenarios without a wipe and some scenarios with a wipe being discussed. Some may have a personal belief on the topic. That doesn't mean their belief is the reality.
    - Are you making any progress? Yes.
    - Are any of the wipe details confirmed yet? As the final decision hasn't been made yet, it's difficult to share any relevant detail.
    - Which things can you say are certain? For the reason explained above, we can't say anything at the moment.
    - Is there a proposed launch date yet? No, we don't have any info to share on the topic at the moment.
We (the whole Novaquark team) do know that not being able to give you any information of the topic yet is less than ideal and we do understand your frustration. Once we will have all the information on the topic, we will share it with you as soon as possible. In the meantime, please stick to the already existing forum threads, "Shedding Light On a Novaquark Discussion" and "Ongoing Discussions". Opening new threads on the topic won't make the answer come faster and will just be closed the same way as the previous ones.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best Regards,
    Nyzaltar.

It seems many of you are more interested in keeping BP then skill points, i find that a little strange.

bp's can be recreate, the time spend on skill points cannot. That makes skill point the only item with true value.

I'll keep my opinions about a wipe brief:

I don't like the idea of a full wipe. I've put thousands of hours into building my ship-selling operation. But I understand how a wipe could help. I'm resigned to the inevitability of it. I can deal with losing my money and my ship factory.

HOWEVER, don't take our talent points! We paid for those. They aren't resources. Taking them is basically deleting our character/account. Whatever advantage they provide, we're owed it. If talent points go, I'll go.

And I think removing schematics would be a bad idea. Every player could manufacture everything they need again, and the market would be pointless.

The more I sit on this the more angry I get.

Teasing a new feature like the alien cores or stasis weapons, sure.  That's a fun addition.  That's like the plane taking off and the flight attendant saying "Hey!  We have some new drinks on the menu and we might be able to give you all some freebies!"  Sure, there's uncertainty there, but it's either positive or nothing.

In this case though, you are TEASING A FREAKING SERVER WIPE.  This goes negative no matter which way you look at it.  That's like a plane taking off and the flight attendant saying "Hey!  We might just yank all the money out of your bank accounts and erase your credit scores and take away your home and job!"

Seriously what the crap went through the head of whoever's idea this was?!  Like...  This is just a severe lack of respect for players like me who love the game, spend a lot of money on it, and play it.  Like...  what the everloving crap.  What is your problem?  Why would you do this?  This has been mismanaged all to crap and it's absolutely ridiculous.  Who the crap teases the possibility of losing over a year's worth of creative work?  Absolutely awful.

I have 8 mining constructs that will now come down.  I have a ship museum that will now lose its structure and most of the ships on display.  I have a two core hangar and 4 cores if parking that will be torn down and my few remaining ships will sit on the ground.  Building was what I enjoyed most.  There is no more reason to gather resources if I can't build.

In DU I believe Ive found the game Ive been looking for for almost 4 decades, Ive played little else since starting here many months ago and have seen a great number of changes, some good, some bad, but ultimately it was for the good of the game.
Not so with this proposed change to core counts.
I totally understand that the nested org issue needs a fix and that the push should be in the direction of  the player but this game has always been about creating amazing things both epic and minutely complex.
Reducing the number of cores available to me and my fellow players is going to result in a major reverse in progress, one that is likely going to see people leaving the game.
As a ship /Static builder / seller, I dont see a way forward.
We spent a significant amount of time producing our showroom, we make a good DU living, a significant amount of which is pumped back into the community on various projects.
I cannot understand why you would do this without some detailed explanation of what you're aiming for.
Its beginning to feel like a path of self destruction and that would a very great shame.
We love your game, yes a lot of players complain but they still play.
Dont make this an excuse for the playerbase to reduce further.
Give us some transparency on these decisions, maybe we can help or suggest alternative strategies.
    Thanks for reading

The main appeal and attraction to this game was that it was a creative space, and it was all player driven.  Player built ships, player built buildings, player made missions, player made events...

With the core restriction being this small, people are going to keep a lot of their org cores to themselves.  It's too restrictive.  Therefore, it's going to be nigh impossible to have enough cores available for people to have a large organization building, or a ship showroom, or a racetrack.  The system you have is fine, but the numbers proposed need a really really strong re-evaluation.  I'm fine with the org core donation system, it's a neat idea, but...  These numbers are too low if you want any creativity in this game at all.  If this pushes through as it is with no adjustment to the numbers, you will lose ship showrooms, racetracks, space stations like Utopia, and ultimately your playerbase.

Let's assume that I have spent an insane amount of my precious talent points to max out ALL of my cores.  15 personal and 25 org for a total of 40.
Now you want me to pay taxes on my tiles, and you expect most players to run mining units to pay those taxes.  That eats into a lot of my cores.  Then add in a few for a factory, a few for a handful of ships...  Honestly, this isn't enough AT ALL.  I'm apparently not allowed to have a ship collection anymore, despite my love for people's ship designs.  I also intend on selling ships in the near future.  I guess I'm not allowed to spare any cores for a showroom, am I?

I run a huge mining setup with multiple players and I needed to literally run my org cores to the max (200+) just to be able to handle it all.  Now all of those players and myself are going to have to invest a ton of talent points just to run shy and now I'm going to lose a percentage of my mining setup.

This doesn't even account for the ships needed to move this ore around and factories to process it.

These numbers ARE IN SERIOUS NEED OF RE-EVALUATION.  If I start losing stuff because of this, I am likely to simply stop playing.  I have worked too hard on building and making things to start losing large chunks of it from a rules change.

This is such a badly thought out issue that affects me so hard that I actually took the time to actually sign in on the forum to voice my opinion on the topic.
