What? You can vote multiple times? That's not like NQ to implement a useful feature and then make it worthless by leaving it open to abuse... ?

I suggested an RDMS fix in the long exploit thread... But nope, they have to bludgeon a perfectly working feature of the game into the ground. I swear they did it as a middle finger to the players.... "You guys keep complaining and making noise so f--- you..."

Upload the log file from the session during which the mats disappeared with your ticket to NQ.
Get on DU discord. see whichever NQ*** is online, drop them a line with the above post and your ticket number.
You will likely get your mats back.

And all they had to do was add a docking RDM and remove the docking part of Manuvering,  Like   they have 3 rdm for containers. view ,put in ,take out,  why bot have 2 RDM for docking,    manuver and docking.   This is stupid......

None of my shuttles dock any more:

If I just manoeuvre, of course that doesn't work... but even if i get in and get out, the ship starts to bounce around and jiggle. after a minute or so, it will stop moving or fall off entirely.
However, moving the host leaves the smaller ship in place, undocked.

My usual playstyle of heavy interplanetary hauler/local shuttle is no longer viable... For me, it is completely broken.

Well, my fault for playing an alpha, I suppose.

But damn, some of dem edgelord comments on dis thread, doe... talk about defensive. LOL.

If this is official NQ, it's even more fscked than I thought.  This is completely unenforceable without a FOIP enabled camera also running under EQU8.

Without access to a camera in the house, how will JC know if someone's daughter/wife/gf/partner is actually playing or if the dad hasn't stood up, walked over to her computer and taken control...?

ludicrous. There is no way to prove someone is or isn't multiboxing, let alone enforce it.

but yeah, running two instances on the same computer, if EQU8 or whatever it's called can't handle it then that should be verboten.

Garbage ""FIX" - right now I can't dock my own ships to my own ships using the MAV. I immediately take damage if I try to fly off. GARBAGE!

In the market structures there is a show room of elements one of the elements shown are canopy windshields but Canopy windshields don't exist in the crafting menu. I was wondering if this is a bug or if certain elements just haven't been fully added yet or something else.
    Thanks.

I cant dock even with a xs shuttle with landing-gear. I feel that this is becominb problematic. DU should study the game Empyrion that actually has a working docking solution.

@Emptiness positioning has nothing to do with docking... cause what I say was you can’t use the maneuvering tool to dock, you can move your ship with the tool sure, but you still need to get in the cockpit or use a remote control, that cancels the maneuvering tool use. I still want to know how you say you docked a core and container only using a remote control tho, cause this don’t work on my end for 2 reasons. One elements don’t dock, and second, how do you fly a core and container only without propulsion or a cockpit?

If people stay silent and don't give feedback, then yes I would say there is a good chance it stays unchanged for a couple of years at least.

And a remote control is going to make this work how on a container with no propulsion or adjustors? Even if just adding a remote control would work it would still mean that "we" get the burden of more cost while the exploiting players get away free.

There was no need for this change at all, it's another knee jerk and not well thought through response where NQ could have just declared this an exploit which should stop it from occurring especially when it is a change which will need to be reversed  (or becomes void) once safe zones go away. Just restricting the possibility to maneuver another person's construct to those parked on a tile you have already claimed would have been better and more sensible.

GraXXoR reacted to blazemonger in Not Punishing Desolation was weak and poor from NQ
NQ seems to be still in a mindset where they think they can discuss everything extensively internally before taking action and take way to much time doing so. They need to be much quicker with declaring something an exploit and attaching repercussions to continuing to use these from that moment. After that point they can then work out a solution to remove the exploit.

Also, NQ has not really removed any exploits, they have nerfed the game for everyone in order for the trigger for the exploit to be removed. In other words they are taking the easy way out  by pretty much punishing everyone else and not even trying to address the actual exploiters who walk away with no consequence for their actions. This happened when they brought in the "TU required to place a static core" restriction and now by removing the "use maneuver tool to dock a construct" mechanic

It seems that this has now entirely removed the possibility to dock one construct to another using maneuver tool, even if you own both, which seems to me to be another case of throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

The extreme is not subjective. When you dig a wall, without any construct or any other reason, in front of a landing strip. You are objectively being a dick.
The border between being a dick and not being a dick can be subjective. That's why NQ is doing the ruling case by case.

As a general rule, I agree with you. Specially in RL.
But well-defined rules are only a requirement for must have game mechanics. Stuff that you need to do, in the daily based to play the game.
Like stop on the red sign.

But most things in life and some in game are not well-defined. Here are some examples:

"Spraying paint in to a surface"
There is no law that prevents you from spraying paint into a surface.
But if you do it in a way that damages stuff that is not yours there is.
But if that stuff has no value, like dirt, or stray plants, it's ok.

"Damaging a vehicle that belongs to someone else"
Everyone will say that the owner will be entitled to compensation.
    But what is "damage"?
If I have butter on my fingers and live a mark on the surface, should I pay for a full paint?
If the vehicle is parked in the middle of the highway, should I be responsible?

In all cases in RL, a judge is required to interpret the law in that situation. Calculate the responsibility and the damages. Only after that, a rule can be applied.

Computer game are somewhat more easy to regularize. Because game mechanics have a limited number of outcomes in each action. So players assume that it is possible to create rules that cover the entire gameplay. It is not possible.

In this case digging dirt is allowed. While griefing players with blocking wall is not.
But what is a griefing wall? How many meters? How far away from the other territory?
Should NQ come up with a 5 variable equation?

But the problem is not the height of the wall. It's the "damage" it is causing to another player.

If the 2 players are ok with having a 100m wall dividing their territory, there is no issue in doing one.
But if one player feels like his gameplay was griefed he has the right to open a complaint.

NQ will look at his arguments and annalise his suffered "damage".
Then NQ will go to the player that caused the situation and ask for why the player did that.
If the player has a decent justification, like "L was leveling terrain for my L core" then NQ may try to find another solution, like offering a free TCU to the "offended"
If it was pure griefing. NQ may take action against the griefer.

For anyone doing digs and platforms from dirt. All you need to know is that you should get along with ppl around you.
If possible, don't block access to his stuff.
If you feel like he will not like it, go ask his opinion 1st.
If you really need to do it, try to make a deal with him.

For anyone attempting to make a complaint to NQ.
Try talking to the guy 1st, make sure he knows he is creating a problem to you.

Yeah, lets prepare the waters for Eve warfare motto "i will be fing you up so long that you leave the game" -.-
Letter of law above spirit of law and so on. I got you. But i disagree with you on most fundamental level. For me its simple. If someone is a dick just to be a dick, that person should be kicked out. If someone is a dick and squirts game mechanics boundaries to f someone up he should be kicked. No society should tolerate such person. Kick him before he kicks other people out of game for no other reason than to have satisfaction of "winning" by any way possible.

I have no idea what did you do to block your engines with voxels. Specially for you I have made this sandbox with clearly visible voxels behind engines with no obstruction whatsoever
    https://ibb.co/yXLy39t
    https://ibb.co/bLrJdwd

and as far as you did not test how it flies - here I have put cubes of shit behind engines of flying ship, and guess what? Nothing changed. No obstruction neither in report nor in flying. (just a small out of fuel case : D)
    https://ibb.co/T4rLFkg

basically same way you can go and wrap the whole ship in one big voxel cube - I just did not want to clean that after

Totally agree with the initial post even if I DO believe that DU needs PvP, even the most sauvage version of it.

But the game, on this aspect, is really unbalanced.

    Some ideas :
    - no exploitable external view while in PvP combat, for example no engine control or weapon activation => no more seat in voxel blobs, no more blind voxel blocks => add the need to design proper cockpits with usable view.

    - seats needs to be "inside" the ship. Totally possible as they are already able to detect it (for the sound)

    - currently, PvP is a huge and sharp cissor and a very thin leaf and a tiny rock. Pure escaping ship (speed or signature) or tanky ship should be able to manage encounters without problem. And these feature should be exclusive with heavily weaponized ships. Using capacity, perhaps? With thrust enhancer or shield, plugged on the seat?

    - no build mode while in combat. You should be able to repair from inside the ship.

    Just some ideas.

The responses on this makes me want to be as far away as possible from you guys... cringy, unnecessarily belligerent and down right childish to say the least. What this guy is doing is a form of griefing but same as drugs people will do it no matter what so there is very little way of stopping it, just make it as much unfun for them as possible, think about it, he could be out there playing the game but no, he prefers to be there building an ugly wall just to piss you off, really just ignore him.

JC hasn't been griefed enough and hasn't griefed enough frankly.

It was pretty funny to watch the most recent stream when he said that he doesn't want automated turrets of any kind....

Right now the griefing is just for lulz.

Wait till territories are on the line and EVE style warfare doctrine goes into full effect - you know - when you win by utterly demoralizing your enemies and causing them to quit the game in frustration through any means necessary. You know, the same way you won at ARK, ATLAS, Empyrion etc....
