Well, I will focus on the most exciting changes for me.

The "24" is even number and I like even numbers more than odd numbers, because numbers like "23" are odd and I always avoid them when adjusting the volume on my devices.

I always find post like this interesting, those who condone and those who praise such actions.  As a member of the empire and also someone relatively new to the government/leadership in the Empire all I can really say is yep it was a hit but it has not destroyed anything except a trust and perhaps a friendship.  For him he is now someone known and it is less likely someone will trust him at all by far.  As for what assets got taken, it could have been a lot worse.  I was on as assets slowly got transferred but that as this is DU and you cannot do anything in the current mechanics with how you need to vote people out (which takes time).

Still I liked the guy especially trying to generate some PVP fun in a game sadly lacking this human interaction, civilization building, but equally I know how hard I mined to help improve things for the org so it was a hit to see time put in vanish.  Gutted I lost a few scanners and fuel I had stored in a hub.

Anyway this is all historic and past decisions by a previous leadership not the current one in existence as those players have long gone.   Things were turning in a far better direction and equally after this its gone 10 fold that way (except things are more restricted)  Still its not something I would do ever in an MMO as I respect people too much but I did hear it was the Eve way (glad I avoided that one).   I could personally have taken far more assets but hey that is not me and I'm pretty old school.

Good luck and hope it brings you whatever pleasure it does.  We are not dead, not fragmented, we will recover and of course any fund events we will take part in!

To be fair, he said he worked his way up, including being super-nice to people and helping to train their combat forces, probably even fought in battles with them in order to keep his cover.  It wasn't a door left open, it was just a very good spy with no scruples and a goal that he was going to reach no matter what morally was in his way.

Damn what an absolute legend!  That is brutal.  I mean, good job, he worked for all that.  Sucks it happened to them, but y'know...  That's life, right?  You got a full Org, you'll get it all back....

In consideration of player feedback, we’ve been investigating the best possible solution to address a situation in public markets where parked ships have been causing clutter and performance issues.

To address this, we will be creating additional landing pads in those areas, then moving ships to them, taking care to spread them out so that the end result will be a better “feel”, aesthetically and performance-wise.

The first phase will begin today in Districts 6 and 7 on PTS where we will try out the tool to make sure it’s working properly. If so, we’ll announce when the operation will happen on the Live server. That will require an extended downtime, so we want to do it when it will be the least disruptive to peak playing times for the community.

I'm winding this thread down and locking it, because I think everyone has made their respective points. I'll keep it up for posterity.

The reason for yesterday's moderation is not a question to be debated. The post technically breached the forum rules we have about naming and shaming *and* doxxing. In an attempt to demonstrate a moment of grace and understanding in light of the valid frustration I witnessed, I did not take full moderation action (ie. issuing a ban). Next time, there will be no leniency. Do not doxx, do not 'light doxx', do not even 'doxx adjacent'. No doxxing, period.

As for questions of toxicity, let's review the rules together right now to clear up any misunderstandings that might exist about our expectations of how people should behave in order to participate in this community.

Additionally, I personally begin to consider behavior toxic when it's repetitive, malicious and can't be reasoned with. Some of the posting patterns I see here fall under that personal definition for me, but I digress. Copied directly from this post:

"We want this forum to be a place where everyone feels empowered to have an open and friendly discussion with us (the Novaquark team) as well as other community members. To help make this possible we have created rules we feel will keep things positive and ensure that proper netiquette is observed.

By posting on this forum, either publicly or through private message or other means, you explicitly agree to follow the rules and guidelines posted here. If you do not agree with these rules – in whole or in any part – then do not post. All members will be treated as if they have read and understood these rules and guidelines.

    (I) Be respectful and courteous.

The Dual Universe forums and community site are provided for Dual Universe players and those interested in discussing topics directly related to Dual Universe. We understand that community members may disagree with each other, and even with us, but we expect opinions to be expressed in a reasonable and polite manner.  It is important to maintain an atmosphere of civility and respect, so that all voices may be heard.

    (II) Communicate constructively.

All communication, whether between players, moderators or Dual Universe staff, must be constructive. Posts without constructive commentary can distract from the topic at hand, reduce the visibility of valuable communication, and discourage others from participating in the conversation.

    (III) Following actions are prohibited:
Posting off-topic replies or replies that are likely to drag the discussion off topic. Necroposting on old threads (unpinned threads in which the last reply is older than 2 months). Spamming on a specific topic. This includes creating multiple discussions on the same topic in the same or multiple forums. Cross-posting a specific reply. This is also a form of spamming. Posting an image without a meaningful text. A meme is not a response to a discussion. They are usually disruptive and can be easily misinterpreted. The same is true for animated GIFs. Calling out other players or community members by name to shame them for actions or opinions you may disagree with. Naming and shaming is not tolerated. Posting in any manner that disrupts an official thread. Official threads are topics created by the Novaquark team for the purpose of collecting feedback and opinions. Threatening legal action. Unfortunately, this kills all conversation immediately as we must refer all further discussion to our legal team. To preserve the conversation intact and unaltered these types of responses may be immediately archived. Trolling (provoking) people. Flaming (insulting, attacking) people. Picking fights isn’t a good way to make your point. It usually means you don’t have one and are just trying to cause trouble. Using profanity. Including creative spelling or character substitution to bypass word filters. Using the report system in an abusive manner. This is a form of harassment and a tremendous waste of time for both staff and moderators. Discussions and comments involving real life politics, ideology or religion. These can be incendiary topics and will usually lead to inappropriate behavior and uncomfortable situations. Publicly posting any private discussions, conversations, or other material between a user and a Novaquark employee (confidentiality policy).
Violating these guidelines may trigger a warning, followed by either a temporary or permanent suspension of forum privileges depending on the severity and frequency of the violations.

(IV) The following actions may result in the immediate suspension of forum privileges:

There are some actions severe enough to result in immediate temporary or permanent suspension of posting privileges without prior notification. Serious or sustained offenses may result in suspension of not only the user's forum account but game account as well.

Threatening other members or Novaquark staff. No, “just joking’ is not a defense. We take this very seriously. Publicly revealing account or personal information of any person, community member or Novaquark staff. Posting harmful links pointing to viruses, malware, worms or trojans. Posting sexually explicit content. Including posting links to such content. Hate speech is not tolerated in any form. Attacking any ethnic group, religion, gender or sexual preference/identity. Promoting exploits, cheating programs, piracy or any sort of illegal activity. Attempt to impersonate Novaquark staff or another member of the community.
Violations of these rules may result in further steps taken with outside authorities or agencies. This may include your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and local or national Law Enforcement agencies.

    (V) Abide by moderators and Novaquark employee’s instructions.

If you disagree with a moderator or employee's actions, do not discuss or challenge the matter in forum posts. Send an e-mail to forum@novaquark.com, and be sure to include your forum handle (name displayed on the forum), but NOT your password, and clearly state your concerns.

IMPORTANT: Forum content is moderated at Novaquark's sole discretion, and content may be modified, removed, or otherwise restricted by Novaquark employees and/or moderators.

Man guys, be real. They didnt expose a bug. They broke down a market including its link to the market system which was never intended to be deleted. They never reported, they only intended to break and remove.

Hilarious would've been leave it intact but add something funny to it like a meme.

I understand that some of you are angry at NQ for the latest patch and other various shenanigans. In a way, I agree with you; i'm not picking any sides here. But this criticism has turned into toxicity. Some people believe that it is acceptable to pick apart and beat Novaquark with hate instead of calmly and kindly giving helpful advice on how to make the game improve. Some people believe whenever someone comments a different opinion about the 0.23 update it is their primary objective to thrash back and pour salt on them because 'no one can say nice things about the update'.  Some people believe that since the game has turned out slightly different from what they expected they must alert and discourage everyone from playing the game because it is a 'scam*'. Some people believe that just because their experience is ruined they must ruin it for everyone else. And some people just jump on the salt bandwagon even if they have never set up an industry unit in their life.

I will repeat what I just said. I am NOT saying that 0.23 was either a good or bad of an update. If you hate it, that's fine. But people like this are becoming a large excrement deposit on the Dual Universe community. You might have heard that recently a forum conversation got out of hand when an individual exposed a LinkedIn profile of an NQ employee. That is flat out unacceptable. If you are one of the people like this, instead of beating this game and its 50 employees down, just LEAVE. This game would be much better without people like you anyway.

    * I have watched the trailers many times now. in my disgustingly baist opinion it's not. (sacré bleu!) misleading? maybe slightly. But let's be honest here, for games that require player interaction, they all are. Take a look at the Starbase trailer for example. Just like Dual's trailer, they both include massive fight sequences, which take up half of the trailer runtime. Sure they are technically possible, but definitely aren't ever gonna happen apart from the rare few events and such.

I know that I will get a wave of salt from this post, just like my previous ones. so please be civil. I won't be responding to any of the people that are hating for the sake of hating or people saying the game is bad without giving at least a bit of constructive criticism. If you feel so inclined, just shout at a wall instead.

    So you're frustrated.

If you can't calm down enough to talk to NQ with some respect, how can you expect them to take the time to listen to you?

If you've completely given up on respectful communication, then what are you really still doing here?

edit: and by "around here" i mean the five of you here on the forums
