I think this sounds like the answer to peoples requests for a creative mode, which I have seen in the forums previously people felt this was missing.

While I do not think most things should be transferable (and possibly not anything at all). I do think it would be good to be able to copy your core blueprints between MyDU and the MMO, that way people could literally be very creative on the stand alone version and only make things they use in the MMO.

 

Anyway I think its a good thing since we will be able to keep our creations in a more permanent ways (even if we cannot copy core blueprints and need to recreate them from scratch). So thank you for this when it released :)

but you can copy Core BPs from DU onto MyDU

 

Thats what the last patch was, updating the mesh exporter tool for that very reason.

Yes I'd see that after I posted here, so we just need a way to import core blueprints the other way round. It is a worry over ownership then maybe they import as external core blueprint copies or something. Anyway it seems like a good thing that is coming soon. :)

An official way to enable digging and ore extraction that was less "use at own risk" for one. Sensible industry that can scale up as much as you want/need without turning into a fill time job would also be great. And removing most of the vehicle/element nerfs added over time would also be nice.

 

Maybe you can do some of those things with the admin tool? I dunno.

You can do all that from de admin BO.

- Schematics can be disabled.

- Ship max speed vs mass, elements power, etc... 


Yesterday on the latest version they also made available the files for all the legacy planets as they were prior to mining units with ground ore and meganodes.

The problem is we get voxel errors when we export from MYDU ... it's fine exporting from NQ servers loads into mydu but when we go to export from mydu we get an error and if you continue and save and reimport it into mydu there are no voxels.

Hmm, that sounds a bit odd to be getting that error when you're trying to export from myDU. How often does this happen and is it just one BP or different ones?

This is exactly it. They should have done this as a last result, when announcing the shut down. Now it splits the little playerbase that was. To be even smaller, while being a good idea for players, not so good for the MMO part of this. Rather go f2p to get the playerbase up, fix the gameloops, make them smaller and more rewarding. Get you hooked instead of overwhelmed and confused.
