After years of playing with voxels, even though I love it, I have only reinforced my opinion that building for no purpose is just not fun.  I don't want a "look what I can do" building sim where the only reward is a like on twitter.  I wanted to build to withstand attacks, build stores that people would shop in, build buildings that we could have AvA battles in, etc.  But it just takes too much grinding to do that in this game. 

I'm looking forward to Ashes of Creation now.

I've had just about enough with DU, Naunet leaving is just another cannonball to NQ's face.

And so, Statues of Naunet will be erected all over the Arkship circle.
I'm reaching out to everyone with a tile touching the big purple arkship circle, or very close to it. Want access to a few key permissions on your tile:

Deploy Core unit on construct
Deploy dynamic core unit on territory
Deploy Item
Deploy Overlap building zone
Deploy static core unit on territory 

Set the perms for SpiceRub, and send me coords to the Territory in question.

No support in game. No support on weekends. Dev blogs about jetpack toggle button that would only be a footnote in ANY other game. High turnover rate at NQ. And last but definitely not least, literally MONTHS where you can log in without paying the sub, and NQ radio silent on it. I'm rarely a doomsday sayer but jesus fucking christ it couldn't look any worse if they tried.

We did a test once and found the following:
 
Ship A: 1 person in M-core cube of silicon
Ship B: 4 gunners, 6 lasers each.
 
So the fun part is when all the gunners of ship B fire on ship A, person sitting on it downloads at about 100mbit/s. Like it downloads the damage to the voxels...
We then capped the download speed of person on ship A to 5mbit (using router cap). The guy was still downloading his damage about 5 minutes after we stopped firing seeing his cube becomes more and more damaged with time.... We now have that meme in our org: "download your damage".
I can only guess how much bandwidth is required when 11 ships fire on 1.
I hope NQ get enough $ from subs to pay for their network bills. 1 fleet fight is like what, couple of petabytes ?

I really don't think a weekend is enough to entice anyone. DU is only enjoyable once it grows on you, till it gets mouldy

This! There is no purpose to play and make pretty things apart from to make more pretty things! That’s literally all the game has atm.

Which is funny, because I've been a backer for over 2 years. The community has been very loud about wanting pvp conflict drivers, especially in space, as ground combat is not as appealing to me.  And pvp is suppose to get a major pillar. They even made fake as pvp trailers to hype up game. So ya. Fuck all this other shit until asteroids come out first.

Yeap. We cancelled the event due to lack of people wanting to go to that event. Shit happens. Also, it was on a Friday during a work day for NA. Can't have everything. 
LOL. Yeap, you got us. Our people only want to mine enough to PvP once in a while. I honestly can't blame them. We're mostly PvPers and a majority of us don't enjoy the rest of the 'game' enough to 'play' mining simulator 3,000 just to chase haulers that delete their cargo when they come under fire, or warp away. Not really our idea of engaging game play. So we play other games, we play DU when we feel like doing the things that DU has to offer, and PvP every once in a while.

I already stated that if the AC had brought their A Game, then BOO would have been in trouble. We were just looking for cheap thrills and memes. And here we are.
