The devs should take note that the 2 most popular forum topics in the last couple weeks or so are either new players asking to refund/unsub, and old players saying there needs to be a wipe before release(after all core game features are implemented).

Yeah...  They just destroyed the entire District market dynamic in the typical NQ "fix the symptoms, not the cause" way of doing things.
The number one selling point for this game was building large community settlements, space stations etc. So it is a bit ironic that the biggest problem with this game is that it can't handle more than a handful of players/constructs gathering before it breaks down..

I am pretty much at the point where I need to take a break from this game.

Supermega reacted to Geckospeed in Fair Warning. And a message to the devs.
I bought the game with the minimum entry package, think it was two months or something. And my request for a refund was denied. My reason being that I can't play the game because graphically it's cancerous and so blurry it gives me a headache just to look at it. How this doesn't warrant a refund when I played it for maybe 10 minutes I don't know, but reflects very poorly on the devs. That being said. I'm not going to do your work for you and submit a technical ticket or report this issue on the forums as it seems others have, and that's not my job.

I leave this as a message of my extreme disappointment with this game as a product, and it's developers service, as well as warning to others who may struggle with hot blurry messes.

Tired of these interviews to be honest...anything important? I started to tune out when he compared DU to Facebook or Twitter talking about how important the community is vs. the tech.

I think JC likes talking about how great DU is a lot more than he likes working on the game or communicating with customers lol.

    Dear HQ-Team,

today i found out there was a interview that happend on twitch:  Source (start 1h 33min)

Good thing i have a few ingame friends who have ears open to find out about such things.
Because i can forget to look up the twitter or even the forum which should be one of the major connection points between player-base and the Game-Team.

But there is no information in the forum what was talked about in the interview (Summary or minutes of meeting)  or that is even happend!
A summary would be very importent as we would have actuall facts about what is going on where is the journey taking us it would also help a lot of people who dont have the time to watch it or are unable to do so( slow internet, being in puplic, language difficulty or having hearing problems).

    kind regards,

Exact quote from J.C. Ballie "For Alioth which is 65km in radius, you can gather a team of 1000 players, working 8 hours a day nonstop weekend included, and it would take you 19 years to get 1% of the planet" Source: Nation Fusion Youtube - J.C. Ballie Interview timestap: 33:44

Also he mentions it would take 5 hours to dig to the core of the planet. Its also been calculated by players, and confirmed by Novaquark it would take a little over 10 hours real time, to run around the entire planet. An Alioth had over 50,000 territories that could be claimed.

Oh, an all of that was before Novaquark announced they made the planet Allioth 4 times bigger. Source: Alioth size change.

So if you consider that tiny, then more power to you buddy lol. I'm sure they will put you're name in the Alioth book of world records when you complete that tiny 40 hour run around Alioth.

NQ really loves all their gfx toys and overdoes all of them in order to "shows them off" it seems. EQU8 will undo any manual changes in config which was an option before these were introduced, the YEBIS settings options have been removed entirely.

So yeah, I leave all these overdone processing option off where possible and as far as I know many do so it's all a  waste of resources and money. Not that NQ cares but you are not wrong.

That's just a temporary band-aid... All planets will tend to zero at some point. Remember JC thought it would take a month to get to space from the get go... He also said the planet's resources would take "years and years" to exhaust. LOL

And the game isn't even out of Beta. Far from building a civilisation, we will be like the bugs from Men in Black, going from planet to planet, strip mining it of resources within a few months and moving on... There will likely be no meaningful civilisation built... Seriously, what were we expecting? Roads, hospitals, cities of gleaming skyscrapers like in Star Citizen.

No. we will get a bunch of swisscheese planets with half baked platform factories dotted on flat land, temporarily churning out goods and with just one or two places of frivolous, playful beauty spotted all too far between by the likes of ODY and Infinity.

And when full PVP happens, the lack of materials will come even more acutely.  We are living in a very short lived golden age of plenty, but within a year, without new planets to pillage and gut, there will be nothing left.

The thing though is that days into the "early start" for backers (as has been well documented), mostly due to a number of oversights and NQ being their usual overly optimistic and "you'll need years to do this" SELF, a lot of high tier ore was not only mined but pretty much removed form the game in order to fill up bank accounts. Even today, selling T1 ore and some easily crafted goods to bots is in many cases still a profitable and viable way to fund other activities, sinking massive amounts of resources into the black hole of the markets.

NQ had an opportunity then to fix that but decided it was all fine. now that they find players are pulling material out of the ground much faster than they expected (again, naïve thinking), they find themselves wit he dilemma of pretty much having removed the easiest way to resolve this from their toolset by not excluding wipes but pretty much making it a very hard sell for them to use that option and not run into an ocean of tears.

What will probably happen is, yet again, the general player base will see the fallout in overarching limitations and further nerfs and increase in cost to do basic stuff in game. Industry will probably get a lot more expensive and no doubt T2 industry elements will be brought in to further discourage the average player form making their own stuff and forcing them to the markets. And all of that because NQ really doe snot want the "Satisfactory" feeling the game currently has to become the predominant gameplay loop besides building ships (it's currently the only one really).

All of this and the needed balance passes really can only lead to one thing, a wipe. If NQ doe snot change their position on this they will just find themselves in a position where they can't properly balance the game and they will find themselves outpaced by the player base as far as how fast they will need to bring in new content and features which they will then need to rush through which will cause more balance problems. NQ said they will not wipe unless they have to and guess what.. They will have to, and sooner than they think.

It will be a very tough sell and there will need to be a lot of sweetening to make the wipe get through without to much of a riot buit a wipe will need to be done. Frankly, if they let us keep blueprints and put talent points back into the pool I honestly see no problem with it. The problem is that NQ seems to keep pushing the "no wipe unless absolutely needed and even changed their plans, sacrificing the game's visual quality, to do so.

Man up NQ.. I really believe it should be obvious you are not getting away from this, so bite the bullet and plan for a wipe, maybe sometime before Xmas. Good time to encourage new subs to come into a fresh, new and improved world and create some much needed revenue in the process.

I wonder what percentage of the planet tiles have either been scanned or had at least one node mined from them. This week I've scanned over 100 contiguous tiles on Jago in the middle of the oceans, as far from any markets or obvious settled bases (multiple tiles claimed) as I could. Barely any high end resources and I've mined through at least 6 mega node empty caverns (and those are the ones I've randomly encountered). I kept going further and further to see if I'd get into an untapped area and just fell into another mega node cavern.

The problem with this mining experience is not only is it RNG to get the high end resource you might need, but the odds of finding them continue to decrease with time. We are barely into the launch of the beta here and great swaths of the planets are scanned and cleared of the best resources. Yes, I'm sure there are "many" untapped tiles out there but the odds of finding one are continuing to decline. This is not a good experience and will only get worse over time.

Yes, new planets might help, leaving this system a resource desert. I really think some kind of ground healing, random resource respawn system is needed.

"other designs should do as well as cubes"

But then you would need to have smart devs putting up smart systems and incentives.

    Also this:

Is far from obvious and clear. By using your own convoluted logic bends it is very much feasible to think that Aphelia's Constructs will at some point be subject to Territory Warfare.

Which is noone fault but your own? If you didn't have this major design flaw in how the Markets work, it would have been as simple as setting down a new Building from a Blueprint.

It could have been a necessary learning experience for you of how to manage an MMO. Instead it seems to me you still refuse Basic MMO lessons from the last 20+ years.

I'm just going to state this heavy handed action was intended to cover for their mistakes.  No sympathy for the devs in this, stuff like this makes me not want to support them.  God complex, and taking an opposite stance to the RDMS rules, because it was their error and not that of a player.  I should have processed my refund during launch, haven't had time to play, don't think I want to now.

lol. They dropped a ban on someone for using an in-game mechanic that was their fck-up. Nobody cares if someone edited market 15 because the devs left it unlocked. Just like nobody (including NQ) would care if you cried because you left your base unlocked.

I'm not going to put more time into this game when arbitrary bans are handed out.

And so it begins. Was it worth it NQ?  You could have admitted you were wrong and turned this into a fun, memorable beta event. Now anyone looking at this game sees a dev team that cant learn from mistakes tying to build a complex game that will require trial and error.

I've told people this game has the potential to be something huge but now?  I've logged in a few times since this went down but I'm just not feeling it anymore. I no longer believe this dev team can pull this off.  And no, its not because of this event alone.

Hi, I am that guy. I put money into this game 2 years ago, paid for a $120 package because it is the kind of game I love to play as I am a fan of Sci-fi, tech, games like Space Engineers etc and coding part was also appealing as I am a dev myself.

But I got into the game just now and literally had LESS than a week of playtime. So no, I had no idea that anything was tied to an object, which is a ridiculous design, neither did my friend knew about it who have been here less than a month. NovaQuark staff didn't care to check or even talk to us and just jumped to their conclusions based on assumptions, even banning people who have taken nothing else but some random lamp or leftovers of the construction for their own base.

In fact, me and Scoopy didn't even take all the terminals and MARKET WAS FUNCTIONING when we left it, it only didn't have walls and floors and couple of items missing, like glass and triangular glass.

Whoever was in charge of this is utterly incompetent and seeing CEO tweets doesn't make me think that this game has any future since it is his PERSONAL stance that we were rightfully banned permanently. Whoever is in charge of communication about us doing something unintentionally based on a human error from the company we paid money for to Beta Test and took it personally, instead of being professional about it. Banning paid beta testers in BETA test phase of the game is unprecedented, doesn't matter if devs had to spend more of their time to fix the issues or not -- every development studio has to face the bugs and their mistakes and own them, not blame their users/players/customers as it is just childish and irresponsible.

In every single game out there if something works mechanically, without breaking the game, it is not a bannable offense. But here are no mechanics and instead some paper statements that developers expect their new players to read.

IF SOMETHING SHOULDN'T BE DONE, IT SHOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE TO DO IT IN GAME <- good game design, NovaQuark approach is to make everything on paper it seem, not in game.
If players shouldn't destroy dev buildings, then it make it not possible as in every decent game out there. The reaction from all of your dev team is just lame and nothing more and you deserve to have a bad rep for this and held accountable, instead of putting all the blame on your community members and paying customers.

The answer came, I think it is not answered and the GM works, as any use of exploit you can justify this answer, I have not heard the details, where exactly is the problem, which player has granted access, I believe that access is provided to the core was not, in General, I'm completely disappointed, I will try to convey the maximum count of people this "competent" answer,
    here is the answer

    Hello ONIXXX,

Thank you for reporting this, however in this case after a prolonged investigation I can confirm that this was not an exploit.
Without going into the details of the investigation, which I cannot do. I would like to advise you to be careful when giving the rank of Legate to a player.
I know this is not the news you were hoping for, but I cannot compensate you for the losses under the circumstances found in the investigation.

Further clarification on our stance towards exploits, can be found at this forum post.

We do however greatly value these reports and would like to encourage you to report other issues, bug and exploits you discover. And provided that we deem no excessive intentional abuse is discovered before or after the report, no punitive measure will be applied as a result of reporting.

If you have any further issues or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.
And I sincerely hope you recover from this event.

    Kind regards,
    NQ-Deckard

All until, in such a project I no longer want to play, I think it would be appropriate to write who when and what did what brought to this situation, and not throw out a General answer that is suitable in any situation, compare the reaction to my situation and the reaction to market 15, and in both cases it is not clear what these people are guided by....

If it takes NQ weeks to fix major exploits, there's bigger issues at play.

If it takes NQ weeks to even open a ticket, there's bigger issues at play.

If it takes NQ days to acknowledge an exploit, there's bigger issues at play.

People have been making MMOs for over 20 years now...I don't understand how NQ struggles to handle well-understood concepts so poorly.

Patch exploits quickly because they ruin the economy. Make sure your customer support can answer tickets within a reasonable time (6 weeks is absolutely absurd).

We are doing our part as players by paying the price they set...if they still can't afford enough support to move tickets along or fix exploits promptly, something is very wrong.

$20/minimum for each player that joined beta isn't a tiny amount of money. It is definitely enough to scale up support and open tickets...and if isn't? That's still their fault for not doing basic math to figure out a workable price that would allow them to scale the game...
