Hey guys, i just discovered this game a few weeks ago and it looks like what i was searching for years to play and enjoy, I crawled on the forums checking for updates and stuff, and i decided that maybe its the time to introduce myself and make friends here
I will join the ranks of Alpha people since i cant afford the pre-alpha and i would like to help with the testing when the alpha is launched
I am a game tester irl and i really enjoy this job , so i hope i can be a good addition with ideas on how or what to test in alpha
Well that's about it for me right now hope to see you guys soon in alpha. Hf and Gl to everyone. o/

Town construction isn't that difficult to accomplish within TCU areas. You'd have to get a 'permit' from the TCU owner in order to be able to build your cat-café or the sorts. Reason? Why, protection of course. The reason towns were built in the first place.

I would think if you or your organization has a warp gate but don't want just any other organization or person to use it you could cut the power source off / security code or simple enough just like a building or cockpit use the right , duties and management system to keep others from using the gates ability with out your permission !

Personally I am happy the gates will be liked going from point A to point B and back rather than a dial up system which would be almost impossible to defend seeing  that enemies could come from any point in the galaxy and at the same time provide they have cracked or stolen your code !

I don't really see a problem with one way warp probes ? Probe sends message it found new system then you find a place you want to build warp gate after you build gate A , you make sure you have enough supplies to build gate B and use the Probes warp ability. Once you get to the new solar system you find a place to put gate B. Activate system and connect gate point A to gate point B. Its not confirmed and things are subjected to change but I think it will be that simple or close to it?

I hope gates are static structure because something moving and warping things inside of it not to mention the speed and direction its moving could end up with some jacked up physics not to mention putting unneeded stresses on the server!

I think they more or less talked about a unmanned probe which travels there and allows you to do a one-time jump. Ofc you first would have to build a gate on your side, then jump there and build the second gate on/near the new planet.

In some interview they talked about maybe introducing some kind of space drag so that people don't end up in the middle of nowhere - so travelling afk for weeks without logging in will not happen imho. Exploration should be a reward, not a reward for being afk or switching chars.

'I think the point yama's making is that the military is basically the same thing as an anti-TU device.

Say two sides are fighting each other with hexes in between army and objective. Either side will definitely strive to deploy protected TUs to prevent the opponent from deploying TUs of their own. Placing an anti-TU device levels the playing field by preventing a TU from being placed. In my opinion, that just makes warfare simpler: deploy anti-TU, protect anti-TU. Both sides have equal territory control, which is none.

Sans anti-TU, deploy TU first, protect TU. One side has the advantage: they have effectively stripped the opponent of the ability to go underground, deploy constructs, and possibly enforced a no-fly zone (if it's in their favour), and may prevent the placing of res nodes on the hex concerned.

Frankly, I don't see anti-TU's being much of a deal if we add a caveat to placing them: expiration date or restriction on subterranean placement.
They'd still cost someone something to produce and hence, they'll cost someone else something to purchase. It just depends on how much time you're willing to spend on something that can be found easily and destroyed without protection.

    Cheers.

Iam realy happy with the current infos about the DAC system, i personaly dont want an Free to Play option with ingame Cash Shop.

And with the ability to buy DAC´s ingame you can play "for Free" because someone bought the DAC from NQ to sell it in the Market and NQ got his Money.
So it is fair for both sides.

Free to Play with Cashshop options has killed so many Games, because of the risk becomming Pay to win or somthing close to.

According to the WIki, during the Kickstarter AMA, this came up: https://dualuniverse.gamepedia.com/Archive:Kickstarter_AMA_Q%26A,_Part_One#Territory_Trespassing

Q: If you are flagged as not having permission to mine in my owned territory, can you still dig and mine, and just get flagged for breaking that, or does the game not let you mine or dig at all?
A: You will not be able to mine, but you will still be able to enter the territory (and be flagged for that), and possibly destroy materials by using weapons (if not in a safe zone) instead of mining equipment.

With the ability to destroy the ground with weapons, I can simply tunnel around defenses and find the 'weak spot'.  Or, if you have a large underground complex, you might build in the middle of a cavern with a protected structure in the middle.  Or you might try to be sneaky, and build an underground bunker and not deploy a TCU so no one notices you are there.  I guess it's also worth linking another Q&A from that AMA about how deep you can go:

    https://dualuniverse.gamepedia.com/Archive:Kickstarter_AMA_Q%26A,_Part_One#Planet_Depth

Is there a limit to how deep you can dig? To put this question into better context, I would imaging that you would want to hide your possessions from other players. I am wondering about what are the limits of editing the environment?
There are no technical limit to how deep you could dig, but we will put some limits for gameplay reasons. The exact depth is not set yet, but below something like a few kilometers, you will encounter lava, which will help making the job of deep mining prospection more dangerous (like in Minecraft, actually). We may have a few small moons that do not have this restriction. And, yes, hiding your stuff underground will be a possibility. But we are looking at ways to make this a bit more difficult, so there is a tradeoff, for example adding the need for special gears to breathe in the depth, requiring costly cartridges to operate, etc.

I think we should let the matter of underground bunker stop for now. All we got now just assume how to fight, not any useful information. So we should wait until we got a sight at PvP ,CvC.

As it's in PreAlpha, Bugs and Game crashes are expected regularily. Everyone has to decide on his own If that's "fun" or not. But ppl who only wanna play the game and Not Help test it - it's better Not to buy in. Even NQ said so as PreAlpha isn't meant for ppl to "Play"

The game now is in Pre-Alpha stage, yes you buy that package you can get access to the game right now but currently server not open for 24/7 , you can see on the main page (dualthegame.com ) there is schedule open the server which day for 24 hour.

Also if you want to get the game for fun time ? I suggest you dont buy it. If not, you want to donate, help NQ and DU ? Yeah you should.

Also this package is now supporter pack, not kickstart anymore.

For Stargates the idea is that you launch a probe at a target. Once the probe reaches the target you can use that point to jump to it. Then you can construct a Stargate to link between the 2 points.

It will take time to set it up but it shouldn't take years to connect 2 points.
But everything is subject to change during development.

'You need improvement on your poetry. Lessons start by five.

Although, I agree with ShioriStein. The animation for this robot is reflective of its size. The way it jerks up and down is indicative of the tonne(s) of metal those mechanical limbs are lifting and easing with every move.

This small pet here moves faster and I dear, say in a 'smoother' fashion, as befits its small size:

Yes, a robot with silky movement animations will be nice. There is still one more pet in this set as shown in the picture here:

And we have heard nothing of these other pets (the humanoid is one nice looking pet  )

We might get more pets. We might not. To me, the animations are quite 'cute' as they are. Appreciation of aesthetics varies from person to person, something I appreciate as well. You can ask NQ for an eight legged bot. Just remember, it has to look sci-fi and functional. The aesthetics of the bots so far favour a sci-fi, utilitarian look. Developing something like a spider has to appeal to the larger user base too. They can't make cosmetics to suit the demands of individual requests.

    Cheers.

Probable just a place holder but I think most people or concerned about game play and being fun over cosmetic's ? They are trying to accomplish a lot by just have everyone on one server but I'm sure once they have the main factors of the game working right they will tweak the game in other areas like cosmetics.
