    TL;DR:
    1) Don't remove schematics.
    2) I'd prefer to NOT wipe

    1) Schematics:
Schematics are one of the best things ever added to the game.
The market basically didn't exist until the addition of schematics. The market is thriving specifically because schematics exist. One of the core ideas for DU from the very beginning was to have role differentiation; schematics push players to specialize their factories - which, in turn, leads to the aforementioned thriving market. Longevity. Schematics take time to acquire. Without them, some players would reach "endgame" within a couple months, get bored, and leave. Schematics add that longevity that an MMO desperately needs. Travel, or "exploration"; schematics require a player to travel to distance planets to obtain, encouraging them to play the game - the space travel adventure - instead of sitting in their solo base all day. Don't remove schematics, not unless you have something better that fills the role.

    2) Thoughts on a Wipe:
    Pros:
Fresh start. Easy way to address longstanding "ill-gotten gains" Level[ish] playing field for all players. Cons:
Destruction of a thriving, mature economy. Crushing of older, avid players' hopes and dreams (and time and effort) As others have pointed out, there have been numerous NQ comments throughout the beta phase strongly implying that there will be no wipe. Backtracking on those will be seen in a very bad light. I kind of have always anticipated a wipe before release, because I see the game as changing and evolving, and "cleaning house" before release just makes sense. I've started over many times since pre-alpha, I can do so again. It won't bother me. But the majority of players that I play with and interact with regularly have far more at stake than I do. Several of them won't come back if there's a wipe. Some of them are on hiatus until this is confirmed - one way or the other - because as it stands, it's not worth it to them spending any more time or money if it's just going to be wiped.

A strong, mature economy is a core part of DU right now, obliterating that will have serious consequences to the ultimate success of the game. As long as schematics remain, that economy should rebuild fairly quickly after a wipe. Without schematics... there won't be much of an economy and new players won't stick around. DU will have lost many longtime veterans to the wipe, and left a world empty and deserted for the new players, who will also leave.

Schematics need to stay. Unless they can be replaced by something equally important to the economy and longevity of the game.
And if that's the main reason for wanting to wipe... it's a colossally bad idea. Probably the death nail for the game.

you realize this is it, this IS.... the last wipe you will ever be able to do.....

and what you gonna do then, 2 years from now when we are in full release and loopholes have been exploited, the economy has been ruined Again, players have gotten rich thru exploits and we are back in the same position we are right now.
you wont be able to wipe it all away then, you will be stuck with it.

This tells me you don't foresee the game even lasting 10 years because you can only fix problems by wiping and after 10 years of release so many issues will have occurred, like another dev pushing the wrong price to live instead of PTS. players exploiting loopholes so much it will ruin the economy again, that you will have no option but to shut the game down or sell it or walk away or make it free to play and go all in on a cash shop because you are not learning
    to fix problems.

    learn to fix without wiping

I have 4 accounts, have no hair and am from Gen X, do I count? Let's say I spent 1500 hrs playing with four accounts vs. your 1500 hrs playing with your single account. How does that make my or your stuff anymore or less valuable to each of us? I don't give a flying X about someone with many, many billions (like many that are still playing). I don't care that I have more stuff then you, neither should you!

My take is, never base your decisions on what others say. Listen to others and see if their point of view changes your point of view, we don't know everything, we can still learn from others. But certainly not from everyone, truly learning from others is often rare... /fortune cookie

Exploiting a bug is bad, exploiting a game mechanic is good. If the game mechanic was badly designed, that is not our problem, that is NQs fault. I'm also flabbergasted how some exploits of bugs haven't been manually fixed by NQ. Someone else gave a good example how CCP fixed some exploits with EVE Online, but they are certainly not unique in that.

The entire concept of equalizing new and old players is fundamentally flawed. Having a fresh start where everybody is starting a zero means literally nothing in the span of the game, and there will always be new players joining that are behind older more veteran players.

If you are going to do a wipe prior to release then do it right:
Grandfather all those who have been subscribed to Beta for 3 months or more into the alpha program at a level commensurate the length of time they subscribed  (i.e. give them DACs) Give everyone eligible for DACs  or who preorders the release a starting pool of talent points (e.g.  30days worth of training). Preserve blueprints. Note: in practice most are obsolete or require a lot (months) of resources & industry development before they can be used. FIX the ECONOMY! A wipe will NOT do that by itself. I suggest: Have all marketplaces on a given planet or moon reference the same pool of buy/sale orders. Sale orders can be created at any marketplace like today. Buy orders can be fullfilled anywhere on the planet (no flying back and forth just to get an item which can be crafted locally faster). Perhaps a new kind of dispenser could be created for use in static constructs.

Why is any different than any other MMO today, take Lost Ark, or EVE Online, Star Citizen just to name a few,  if you start one of those games today do they give a DAMN that your a NEW PLAYER I think NOT. And guess what there will be player that are bigger and better than you on day one. So this idea that getting into a game right now requires some magical wipe so we are all EQUAL is a stupid and unrealistic idea and not actually done in practice.

Sorry I really dont see the issue.  I look at donated cores.  Look at who gave ,  I see 200 coming from people that I know/thrust.  I see another 400 from people that are dubious ,  unknown, etc..   I now know that I better not go over 200.  Kind of like a bank that gives you a 500$ overdraft,  it does not mean you should use it,  it's always going to hand up costing you.  Leave within your means applies to the cores.

Keep in mind that the mining mini game will result in a small amount of minerals that can be picked up on the surface that will give you a little mineral bump.  If done properly it could result in enough coin to be at least 1/4 of the fee for your tile.   At least that's what I experienced during my testing.   Obviously all depends on price of minerals.

This feature is only available to player-owned, not organization-owned

It written in the text you quoted ?
Anyway, I personally approve that 5 is too much, I propose to reduce to 3 tiles, but one per planet could a thing too ? And may be limit it to SZ.

Current aircrafts can fly a few hundred tons (boeing 747 can fly 400 tons, if google is right)
Falcon 9 can get 22 tons to orbit according to space x website

I know it is the future, but maybe we shouldn't get to trivialize transporting 3KT Cargo from planets to planets with a single ship

I believe we need better rockets, specialized to get heavy cargo to orbit => we would have specialized cargo ship for surface to orbit and then a specialized space cargo would take it from there.
Hover engines should be the preferred way to move heavy cargo in atmo
Atmo engine should be used for small cargo / passenger.

    Damn you people are whiny.

This change is awesome.  Docking is simplified, not made harder - much better than the maneuver tool jankiness.  Though floating 'docked' ships may look a bit odd.
The only form of 'boarding' DU has today is where you take an alt and logout on someone's ship when they're not online.  Which part of that is fun?  It is very nice that NQ has finally cleared that up, so people like Markee aren't constantly being harassed, and until we have AvA there's no downsides.  We may see some changes once AvA is in, who knows

    Dear Noveans,

We would like to address the recent speculations that have arisen in our community, and openly disclose some changes that are happening at Novaquark.

First and foremost, Novaquark continues to be supported by its long term investors to allow it to launch Dual Universe in line with its original vision. It also puts us in a position to attract experienced talent to complement the team that’s already in place so that we can continue to improve the game.

Next week, we will share with you what we think our priorities should be for Dual Universe and how we hope to approach the development of the game with improved processes going forward.

An important change to note is that Jean-Christophe, the founder of Novaquark, has transitioned from the day-to-day management of the team to better focus on his position as a board member. Over the years since the creation of Novaquark, JC designed and set the standards for the structural and conceptual foundation of the game, and he feels now that a solid base is there for him to move forward as a strategic advisor. The recent changes in the administrative presidency of the company only reflect the transition of JC to his new role. We’re excited to have the team he has built deliver on his vision for the game.

Rest assured that Novaquark’s future is in good hands, and there is a strong partnership between our long-term investors and our team. We believe that the future is bright for the game and for the company, and we cannot wait to tell you where we want to take Dual Universe.

    With our warmest regards,
    The Novaquark team

The item below makes me sad.  I liked that changed.  It was pretty much the only thing that was going to restart the market.
Element destruction will impact the restoration count only when it occurs through PvP, at least for now (not when the ship is colliding/falling as we want to avoid having players penalized simply for crashing their ships because they’re learning how to maneuver them, for example).
