  1. Psst - Wrong forum section - Check the other one.
  2. Absolutely, that's the point that somehow does not want to go into my head. I also remember this following drone. And that's just the question I ask myself: If I can do that following drone, why is not there an alternative method to mine? Why is someone forcing me to use my hand? Of course, sure, the balance must be maintained. It should not be OP. I can not and will not speak for our mining organizations, but personally I can not imagine in my subjective view that mining would be fun for me. If you want mining to be a profession, it needs progression and scaling to make it appealable. I absolutely understand that NQ has thought over one or two things to economics. And if they're worried that the players are progressing too fast, then they should increase the planet size with intercept theorem. Just for example: Space Engineers - It currently takes 45 minutes to fly around a 50k radius planet at 115 m/s. There is a solution for everything.
  3. From the technological stand the hand. From a useful stand, the drill. It makes a significant difference if the carrying capacity of a spaceship, as example, is 300% higher than that of the avatar. We can now hang on small things or you can just try to follow the basic idea further.
  4. What I write down here refers to the late game. We had a similar discussion on our discord and how we imagine mining on a larger scale. It's a paradox: We travel from Earth with spaceships to create a new home in the new world. However, mining is still to be done by hand, although everything around is much more developed. I don't want automation with a robot, but what speaks against mounting drill heads on the ships (inclusive transport pipes)? The drilling speed can be the same as dismantling by hand. Personally, I would not have a problem if it was slower than by hand. The advantage would definitely be the inventory of the ship that is available. - You have more than just the hand to mine something. - You can build ships that are specialized (As you can see in the tutorial videos, weight and additional elements can play a role) I have great hopes that Novaquark will introduce equivalent additions / elements to the Nanoformer, as an example a drill head for the spaceship. I would like to mention Space Engineers and Empyrion as reference, which have done a very good job in the core game mechanics. Here the player grows with his environment. And that's what I want for Dual Universe too. Edit: Oh ... and why not a Welder element too?

My first reaction when I saw the pirate outfit:
  6. It's always dangerous to equate "privacy" with "hiding." It isn't about hiding, it's about controlling whether or not you can hide. In bigger words, "informational self-determination." Privacy is the right to control information about yourself. If you make the choice that you are okay with the world seeing your pledge, your location, your organisations, and so on, that's totally fine. That's still privacy. That's still you exerting control over your information. If someone else makes the choice to let the world see your pledge, your location, or organisations, and so on, without your consent, that's not fine. That's a violation of your privacy. That's you losing control over your information. You having nothing to hide? Good for you. I on the other hand have a lot to hide, none of it is criminal, it's just nobody else's business. You can now make fun of what the data is about. Nevertheless, I take privacy seriously. Maybe it does not matter to you, but it does matter to me. And that is to be respected.
  7. I am still waiting for an option to set my profile private. I am not going to link anything with my account.
  8. It lacks a boost. Here is a similar model that I saw last year, which is similar in construction to the thrusters. Here the bigger Version with weapons. : Source: But yeah, I like that idea.
  9. I will not use such a service or certificate in this form. Why does it just make you think you're in charge of this certificate authority? Which qualifications do you bring with you? Maybe something from the RL? I am asking this as a trained draftsman (building construction) in RL. Usually builders of such works self-announce who worked on it. The best example is in Minecraft or Space Engineers. I go straight there and ask or hire those who are relevant to me.
  10. I like this idea. Somehow, it reminds of the Iron Man scene:
  11. Amazing posters! It supries me every time. Oh and today at google birthday surprise spinner: Should I apply?
  12. I am somewhat dismayed that people are reduced to their forum/pledge titles. This forum is intended to provide the opportunity to ask questions and to get to know the future players. But with this bevahiour... I'm not sure if we get this done. About the topic: As long as you can pay monthly fees with DAC, it is still no p2w, everything else will be seen.
  13. Whether voluntary or not - I already see enough advertising in real life. Why should I watch (real) advertising in a game? If that were the case, then I demand low monthly fees for the game. And now let's look at the lore: The lore says that the world we know will no longer exist. So were we supposed to represent real products that will no longer exist in this world? I'm against it.
  14. I do not buy games from Hello Games or Sean Murray anymore.
  15. Of course, it is subjective and the personal perception of a game does not necessarily reflect the opinion of all / most players. Ultimately, we are not only players but also the customers. And the customer thinks twice where he will invest his money. Everyone has their own motivations here. Everyone comes from a genre and a game-portofolio what he has played up to now. Their own desires, their own ideas, why "Dual Universe" so attracts, is more different the ever. And that is why I simply ask the question, which everyone should answer for themselves: "Why are you here?" And this brings me back to the topic: Inspiring words, a strong ambition and the necessary passion can be seen at the NQ team. As stated in my other post already, I have no problems when looking at elements from other games. The mechanics should match the game and it should enrich the game (experience). There are a handful developer studios that I blindly trust and also buy their games. NovaQuark has so far not been able to build a reputation worth mentioning with other games. But this is the beautiful thing: I give them the opportunity to prove it to me; That's why I pledged.
  16. Hi Killabits, welcome to the forum. I am trying to give you a short and precise answer. 1. Land under cover is protected with a unit. (TCU) Depending on whether it is in the safezone or not, it can be destroyed. 2. If I remember correctly, the developers can track everything that is placed and broken down. Or did you mean something else?
  17. I dissociate myself from discussions when these killerargument fall. Instead, I quote from a game developer. Source: https://www.polygon.com/2014/7/28/5944393/copy-steal-game-design So what's wrong with taking something that works? And you improve this mechanics and adapt it to your system. VoilĂ , solved the problem.
  18. Thanks for the current and future infos from the GC.
  19. Exactly what Lord_Void says. I agree with him.
  20. I think it's good that you only allow certain genres. Otherwise my list would probably be too long. No specific order. - Star Wars Galaxies, or let's say at least the most SW Games (SWG, SWTOR, KOTOR, SW:BF, Republic Commando, etc, etc...) - Space Engineers - ASTRONEERS - Factorio - DOOM - Dead Space - Osiris: New Dawn - J.U.L.I.A.: Among the Stars - Mass Effect - Minecraft - PULSAR: Lost Colony - Terraria - Earth & Beyond - MDK 2 - Ark Survival - Citadel: Forged with Fire - Quake 3 Arena - Unreal Tournament (1999) - RimWorld - Turok - System Shock 2 - Deus Ex - Planet Base - Planetside - Battlefield 2142 - Starbound - No Man Sky Did I miss something? For sure.
  21. The backer can found an organization in this development stage. He invests money, which in turn means trust. And any backers, undecided or interested parties can already join an existing organization. The amount of work is reduced and all who are serious about it are rewarded. Seems to be fair.
