The bigger ships should also get some sort of landing gear/ ramp components... Seeing the fighters with flat undersides is okay but not for something massive! Little voxel sticks would be crazy.

If you could prioritize DU features...

So with the KS fully backed and stretched goals reached... I would enjoying seeing: -Advanced biomes -Use of drones -mining -combat -exploration -Rails/tracks (that's a great idea guttertrash) -Regenerative resources -Salvaging -Movable parts -Star gates -Cosmetics -Ingame voice chat -

Thought I'd give making a forum signature a shot by creating some type of badge for DUA. These are really simple and based off what D. Diablo has already done. I was inspired by the games hexagon tiles and some NASA patches, hence the shape and placement of the text. Any thoughts or suggestions? Special thanks to Comrademoco for helping me making the font and boarders pop-out with some shadows.- 141 replies

consequences of non-regenerating planets and ressources
ShinyMagnemite replied to Molgor's topic in Builder Forum
It could be possible that to boost the economy of the game, common resources will be already in-place within the marketplace. So selling stuff wouldn't just generate meaningless profit that couldn't be used to buy anything... I think in the lore of the game so far, the Arkship comes with some very basic supplies or food. The use of market NPC's at the start will be helpful to spread those resources out (even if their unlimited because they're so basic/common). -
"Back in my day tv was called books, and this is a special book." So instead of books or NPCs, what if there are specific data modules or terminals that have to be built to advance forward? As in, the Arkship will only get everyone so far because the arkship doesn't use a jump drive or a jump gate so how would we know of that technology? Mind you this would be some late-game tech...

Unpopular opinion... We simply don't really get to name any planets? I'm sure the devs will try to create some possible lore/backstory for many of the systems which would be broad names like Alioth System: Alioth (Prime) Alioth I Alioth II etc... Maybe, just maybe, once the more powerful orgs start to establish some footholds on Alioth and send out probes to discover other systems, the devs might take it upon themselves to reach out to the community to name some new planets. Then some of the thread ideas will be implemented. Over the scope of the game seems to be much more condensed with quality over quantity being the driving force of the game.

HUZZAH! -
Well if the KS is able to get the stretch goal (~$250k more...) I can see most of these aesthetics going into the game. Like: -obtaining a cowboy hat -more realism (pockets and utility belts) -multiple space suits -sleek -steampunk -star wars like -transparent birthday suits Having solid visors are kinda something I don't want to see either.... it seems last gen. I just hope having the option for a less opaque visor or no helmet isn't something that will cost money in a in-game market place.

PayPal backers - Store Concept
ShinyMagnemite replied to Wilks Checkov's topic in General Discussions
I never use my PayPal, but just because of that I wouldn't want to limit another person's ability to pay. So I support this. -
Unless the beta starts up and stays open with the possibility of your progression carrying over? Maybe less than 2 years? ~1.5 years? Who knows!

If you want some crazy SW designs for a starting base, I recommend checking out 'The Star Wars' comics that depict Lucas' original draft for the film(s). The original idea for Star Destroyers were something like a 2 personal fighter! Crazy stuff.

No problem-o. It might be possible to do it over water if using land becomes problematic, but then it might have to happen outside a safe zone... Hmm... Best of luck with this!

Hmm.... I understand that since this is an mmo, all the cool stuff will have to be crafted or obtained later on. But if I can at least get a cool pilot outfit going for my character that would be pretty sweet. Nothing too shiny and clean for me, a little bit more "used" would be ideal. My dream would be to have a cape like Lando Calrissian in SW...

Another SWG/sandbox lost soul checking in
ShinyMagnemite replied to Pang_Dread's topic in Org Updates & Announcements
Its been too long without SWG... I remember watching all the trailers for the expansions and getting lost on Tatooine because the shitty green-lined map made no sense to me. I recommend avoiding the "freshly squeezed" orange juice altogether, no amount of smuggled alcohol will help it go down. -
Heyo! Glad to see more people offer some fun and peaceful groups into the game. Hope it all goes well for you and your remembers.

A great source of inspiration to look would be KOTOR (I and II) and how it handled the swoop races. Sounds interesting tho! I'd totally would watch the first races.

We can neither confirm nor deny the possibility of space whales at this time. Just never look back.
